A total uphill task for Pakistan to survive. Can they manage to bat out the 2 days to save the match?
 
Pak have 2 options here, and both are improbable, 1st is that if Kiwis don't get all out they will give pak atlest 165 overs to get them out with lead of around 350, so than pak will have to either play out all those over with ultimate tuk tuking, even better than saffas, or 2nd and more adventurous option is play out 120 overs aka 4 sessions but at run rate of 6 mean 720 runs atleast and target of around 380 for kiwis in about 45 overs, on day 5 pitch, i would go with 2nd option because the pitch is flat and if pak attack and don't let kiwi bowlers to settle in it will get easier, and it will mean they will not have to play another 1.5 session if they score about 6 per over, but considering pak management and captain approach they will choose first option, which they can never do successfully , i mean they can't just tuk tuk for 165 overs on day 4 and 5 pitch. And secondly the second option will almost make sure even if we lose it won't be an inning loss, and team will also win fans moral support of fans by playing aggressively. If kiwis can do this sort of batting vs why can't we?
 
Wow Shan ki English.. When was the last time we had someone so fluent in English like him?
 
Hope NZ bat out another session...gives us less time to survive. :D

this is called Mamoon's logic for being a great prospect you must have good looks and must be fluent in english speaking, aka Umar Amin, only mamoon knows how good looks and being good english is related to being a good cricketer.

Miandad was poor in English , but he is better batsman than what Shaan or Amin can ever think of
 
In between what was shan saying in interview, i missed that, was he saying " i will show misbah and azhar who is the ultimate tuk tuk king by scoring 20 runs in 250 balls"

but to be regarded by Mamoon (the ultimate cricket pundit on PP) as a good cricketer you must have good looks and must be good at english.

The New Zealand tailenders are better than the likes of Shan Masood so yes, having them at a crease is a better benefit as it's eating up balls.

You must be seriously deluded if you think Pakistan will even get close to the lead, let alone set a decent target.

nah mate even playing out 150 overs won't do it if pak playing at their customary run rate of 2.5, now just see post#2 in this thread and you will get clear idea of what options pak have.
 
Being educated, having good communication skills and charismatic personality are plus points, especially for captains but of course they cannot compensate for lack of cricketing ability. Shan is a rubbish player and his education background serves no purpose.
 
We will crumble against Spin I guarantee you. We were successful against Spin earlier because we attacked and disrupted their rhythm. If you are going to tuk tuk then watch Craig get another 7 wickets.

I am not deluded but more realistic to say that Pakistan has 0 chance of drawing this test match let alone survive today which will be monumental task provided that we have hacks like shan and azhar in top order, my post was only directed to saks not that I believe in!

What stance? I have always been adamant over this. If you interpreted it wrongly it's not my problem.
 
NZ tailenders can take 5 singles in a over, tough task for Pakistan's top order in any format of cricket.
 
Nz shooting their own foot! the longer they bat, the likelier it is that pakistan can save the game. get them batting!!
 
Match situation. Cricket is one of the few things that emotionally affect me.
 
Losing to NZ is just not acceptable. I expected Australia to beat us and it would still have been respectable, but to lose to these guys in UAE will be right up there with losing in Zimbabwe.
 
I saw pak more toothless than this only once in my life of watching cricket for last 15 years and that was when sehwag and dravid had the opening stand of 410 runs in lahore, but they were great batsman but this is just not acceptable letting hobbits score 700, i could never imagined it even in my worst dreams.
 
What a dream match craig is having or should i see even better than he could dream, thanks to our great team. Now he will forgive our team for all that phainty which was served to him in 1st two tests.

The reason I said he should be a commie rather than having any given role in the PCB is solely due to the fact that the administration of our cricket board gauges their employee applications by the number of wickets or runs a competitive cricketer has made during his international career. Even though Shaan has the educational background to actually serve purposefully in a PCB conducted setup, the egos that are within such bureaucratic environment would just not let him work and always bring up how, he as a player, was not good enough and therefore does not merit an administrative post.

Why do you think Bazid never tries to get involved in the workings of PCB even though he is one of the most befitting candidates for PCB chairmanship after Shayrayar and Subhan. These are the reasons why I think Shaan can be a good commie but would struggle to accommodate himself as an administrator.

You're just wasting your emotional energy on a bunch of jokers, how many times we have seen such pathetic display from Pakistan? and you still sit there, watch and waste your valuable time and energy on something which has no outcome in case of Pakistan because eventually they will disappoint and hurt you only if you're attached to their pathetic brand of cricket, and Attachment is ultimate cause of suffering thats why I always watch the match as a neutral observer and keep my emotions in check!

Sarfraz has made sure no one missed Kamran Akmal anymore. His keeping has been superbly poor and is getting worst with every passing innings.
 
Drawing this match would be a fantastic achievement and would further show how far this team has come. Winning it would be unbelievable.
 
Damn! !yasir shah and rahat missed, their double century and century.
 
Losing more than 3 wickets by the close of play would make avoiding a defeat, very improbable.
 
The most haunting stat is 22 sixes conceded , most in history of test cricket and beats the previous record of 17 so comfortably.
 
Now where is bilaal to defend his hero Sarfraz's great piece of keeping. What's the excuse this time bilaal.
 
I feel for poor Yasir. The only bowler in the team that would be a fixture if all our first choicers were present.
 
Very important to not go into a shell (looking at you, Azhar). This pitch is still a flat road and runs can be made.

I would keep Rahat and YAsir along with Wahab and Junaid in a preffered attack and probably Ehsan as a 5th bowler to replace if anyone gets injured

Amir should replace Rahat if he is good enough on his comeback
 
Shouldn't have dropped Ehsan Adil. Atleast he could contribute with the bat.
 
Do Pakistan lose any points for winning this series by a 1:0 margin?
 
Pitch seems dead. NZ will struggle to pick wickets. Can't rely on Craig and Sodhi to run through the side. Dan also is a defensive option.
 
3 Pakpassion signatures are dedicated to me. A record I'm not proud of.
 
Did someone say winning this game would be an achievement?! Is someone still dreaming of a win? :))
