I understand that Pakistan is in a comfortable position right now , but Umar Amin needs to prove why he has been selected . I don`t get why he is not playing his natural game , not playing it like an ODI match . If you are going to go into your shell when your team is in a comfortable position , I don`t have any hope from you when the team is in a difficult position .


Umar Akmal is doing well , I like his approach , just needs to avoid brainfarts and play until he ends the game .

Seriously Pakistan should have just hammered SA rather then tamely crossing the line.

We need to learn how to be ruthless.

Misbah and Umar Amin`s partnership was just :facepalm worthy


This team cannot chase anything above 230 if they do not show any intent to play faster .

He is timing it well, just picking up fielders that are agressively placed.

I can see why some of the seniors want to stifle and hide away Umar Akmal.

Had Fawad Alam was playing a similar inning , we would have seen endless criticism from everyone .

And that is what I am talking about ! Umar Amin is now behind Umar Akmal is terms of runs , having played 3 times as many balls .

AGREED. I think Umar Akmal should switch places with Amin in terms of batting position... in fact I'd go as far to say he should be batting at 4(Akmal that is)
 
Still trying to work out exactly how to describe that shot.

Because fawad alam would have blocked most of those balls, while Amin is picking up fielders with good shots.

Don't get me wrong, fawad should be in the squad too. But he is completely different than Amin. Fawad is a misbah like batsman, while amin is yousufesque.
 
What a shot.... Pakistan is really wasting the talent of Umar Akmal.
 
Umar Akmal is the best ODI batsman in Pakistan. To have him batting at number 6 and Umar Amin at number 5 is ridiculous.

THat is the difference, Fawad is excellent at picking up singles.

He has substance, which is more important than style

Honestly , we need a specialist batsman right now and Umar Akmal has everything in him to go on and become the next Miandad . He just needs to stop focusing on keeping and only develop himself as a batsman . Having played 76 ODIs , his role in the team is still not clear ! Will he bat ? Will he keep ? Can he or can he not play tests ?

Keeping is destroying his career .
 
Was that umar akmal 6 similar to what he scored against malinga in his first odi century..i missed the 6.

He will end the careers of a few passengers in the Pakistani batting line-up if he bats 4.

They will not allow that to happen.
 
still trying to figure out what the big deal is with Umar Amin.
