Hardly sensational. This has nothing to do with the players' actions. The original poster was talking in regards to the edges' thickness. We all know that Smith had every right to stay there and that call was marginal given the original umpires ruling.

Trying to influence an umpire's decision is a pretty clumsy thing and offenders usually warned by the match referee for doing so. While if you stand your ground after nicking one is a moral thing only.

Smith although was well within his rights to stand his ground but what he did besides that didn't show him in good light. I was disappointed with that.

Yep they must make sure one side is rough and the other is shiny. On flat tracks its the only weapon and they must use it. otherwise see a very very long partnership.
