I would like to see him bowling a few yorkers like he does. There were too many short balls yesterday.
 
If you want to get back in form, just play Pakistan in a test match :)))

Also Gul bowling in 120 k's. Looks like the lack of test cricket has really hampered his stamina.

Yep - Younis was too attacking. Edges glances should never go for that many runs!

How come Araft is showing as rm on cricinfo?
He has shown he can easily bowl in high 130s and sometimes above 140kph

He keeps spitting out random words that should have nothing to do with cricket commentary. I think he just picks words out of a dictionary and challenges himself to use it on air.

Kaneria in for first time today! Lets see if he can keep the discipline in his bowling!
 
Gul has been exposed as far as pace is concerned. Its far easier to bowl at 140 km/hr in ODI's and T-20 cricket. His drop in pace has been considerable since his first spell with the new ball and with that one old ball spell where he puts in everything if there is any reverse swing.

he was using his mind and didn't bowl fast on this dead wicket.. remember akhtar few years ago in lahore or faislabad bowling very slow and even with the short run up against india. cuz he knew bowling fast on the dead wicket will take him closer to injury rather then get him any wicket.. so i think Umer gul is using his mind and just bowling with good line and length.
 
Arafat seems to have improved a lot since his last test. He was dropping off in pace last time, but today he is into his 7th straight over and still in the mid 130s.

Yep. Trying to bowl very fast on this pitch will result in an injury.

At the expense of not taking wickets. This is Sri Lanka we are playing against for god sake. Injury is part of the game, injury is part of being a fast bowler. You get injured, you heal yourself and you get back into the team.

If you dont have the guts to deal with an injury, you should quit being a fast bowler. Wasim, Waqar, Shoaib would be damned to see the new generation of bowlers taking such shortcuts. No pain, no gain. This is a very troubling psyche on display by our new generation of bowlers.
 
this pitch really kills the game for bowlers. we need pitches with some pace and bounce.
its pity tht we have fast bowlers but dead wickets.

Rather then appreciate the bowlers giving their heart and trying to bowl smart, it's not wise to compare them with the legends like Waqar and Wasim. Oh and as far as Akhtar goes, he wouldn't be even able to bowl more then 10 overs on this pitch, if at all...
 
disheartening to get hit for boundary on the last delivery after a decent 5 balls
 
Kaneria doesn't get drift. He just turns. He doesn't have a good faster one which is a key weapon in leg spinner armoury.
 
Cork is bringing about some good points about Sohail. Too bad we have an idiot in Aaqib Javed for a bowling coach.

All of the batsmen in domestic cricket are not useless...so how come he got so many wickets at domestic level? I think it is pressure which effecting him

hahahaha bro stop using ur heart and start using some brain and u will find the answer. If you are comparing Gul to wasim and waqar then u r making a big mistake. Gul is the best bowler we have in all form of cricket. right now we can't afford to lose gul and ask him to bowl over 140 cuz some pakpassion poster wants to look at speed gun rather then at the conditions
