Misbah has 1 boundary on ball 1, since then 24 of 37 without any boundary - that's simply not acceptable.

Absolutely incredible! take a bow Azhar! his greatest knock! no mean feat getting a triple, I don't care if it were against Nambia at the Test Level
 
Unfair, Gabriel and Cummins should've been allowed to reach their hundreds too...
 
Great knock by Azhar & PAK declares at exactly the score I thought 575-580. However, score could have been 600 by now. Still, more than enough - on a faster ground, it's like 675.

Well done Azhar Ali, 1st 300 in the UAE in Pakistan's 400th test match in history - in his own 50th test cap and on his way reaching 4000 test runs in the 1st D/N test match in the UAE and 2nd only in history. Take a bow and fist clench to the haters.

Misbah looks like a legend with that beard. Could have matched Afridi in popularity if he looked like this back in 2007.
 
C'mon Amir! Take at least 7 wickets in this match and leave the rest for Shah.

Not a chance, Afridi is a lot more handsome and hits a lot more sixes. Gets out a lot more as well though :))

I don't understand, what's the purpose of that mid-off against left-hander when Sohaiil's stock ball is coming into him. Misbah won't attack even with 1000 at hand.
 
What is misbah thinking. Mountain of runs on the board and 2 slips with that angle.
 
WI, AUS or ENG - Day or night, Red or Pink ball - PAK's new ball will go at 6/over.....
 
Why is this Khan in our team and not Junaid Khan? Such an average bowler.

Ideally, Sohail should bowl o right hander & Aamir to lefti, but WI has avoided that for 5 overs.

He got two fifers but they were all down to luck, if I'm honest. Amir bowled better than he did but luck rewarded the lesser bowler.
 
Sarfraz is collecting the ball at shin height.

Keeper and slips should move forward, especially with Sohail's pace and the slow nature of this wicket.

Also Sohail needs to make these batsmen think about playing these outswingers, which are so wide its easy to leave.
 
Does anyone know which contract category (a,b) Azhar Ali is in now currently?
If he is in (B) he deserves (A) now, has played 50 test matches

I am sure he will get rewarded for this effort by PCB.
 
It's a slow pitch, seems to me that Sarfu and slip fielders should come at least a step forward when Sohail is bowling.

Luck? Not at all. Bowled extremely well and troubled English batsmen the most along with Wahab in the 4th test. He is the reason that series was 2-2 and not 3-1.

They could have one it 2-1 though. Bangladesh is a team to beat at their home.
 
Amir should put faith in himself and trust in his natural in swing. I don't know why he comes around the wicket and bowls off-cutters from there :(

Pakistan should have positive attitude , they should leave some grass . Have something for bowlers in the pitch , it benefits development of younger players.

He is turning into another Junaid. Doesn't have the same bite with the new ball anymore.

I don't think he will ever repeat the 2010 English summer performances. They will forever remain the highlight of his career.

Seems like a decent bowler now, rather than a special one.

Not really, with 580 at hand & 20 overs to bowl today, Captains don't start with mid on, off & extra cover. Put 4 slips & a backward leg with none in front of batsman - by now it should have been 2 down. Johnson flicked one of Sohail through squire leg in air. So far, I haven;t seen a single ball to those 3 fielders in front. It's a great wicket, that's why Captain has to manufacture wicket - Misbah is using 5 fielders to get a wicket & 4 to defend 579.

He is already in (A) category.
 
Amir bowled poor for his standards. A few loose deliveries and didn't swing it in to the left hander. He did bowl some beauties though. The pace is still there. I still have hope for him to become world-class.

That was 4 years ago when Junaid had functional knees. His knees are gone now and he is just a back-of-length trundler at the moment.

Nowhere near good enough to play any format for Pakistan regularly.

I think his standards need to be redefined now. What he did 6 years ago should have no bearing anymore. He has only been decent since his comeback earlier this year and this was another decent spell.

I always tipped him to be special, Even kohli did. I want to see him next as wasim akram not next junaid khan :'(

Why should we forget that england series and even apart from that. He used to be "deadly" in ODIS. has only became mediocre now.
