What's new

Pakistan v West Indies | 2nd Test | Abu Dhabi | Oct 21-25, 2016 | Day 3

Jason Holder is such an annoying batsman. He plays as a bowler and as a Pakistani fan you're watching him bat thinking he's a bowler. But he bats so beautifully and just doesn't get out. It's annoying.

I hope people here don't start on why Misbah isn't enforcing the follow-on if we do get them out before 253.

Why would you enforce the follow on in the unforgiving conditiions of the UAE and give up the advantage of bowling last only makes sense if you are well into the 4th day.
Ramiz is stupid .

It's a good situation to be in: all of Pakistan's fast bowlers are doing their bit. Very difficult to leave one of them out.

I think another reason to not impose the follow on is to give the openers more practice. Pakistan has tougher tests to come and they need their opens to get in to the habit of developing a regular partnership

blah blah blah aggressive mindset blah blah blah humiliate opposition blah blah cowardly Misbah blah blah blah

His bowling is not particularly threatening but his lower order batting has been useful. He scored a hundred in Antigua last year to save a Test v England.

He could reinvent himself as a top 6 batsman who can bowl a bit.

The commies really have 0 sense. How on earth do you expect them to insert WI in this heat.

Already bowled close to 100 overs.

Anyways we have a tried and tested formula in the UAE, why disturb it.

Ohhh rameez..

Yes. I think he can get into this WI team as a pure batsman who could offer a 5th bowling option.

I have really liked this spell from sohail khan. Good pace and all the tools on display

This is absolute shameless by Misbah - instead of Rahat brought Zulfi for 10th wicket.

Get Rahat on. He deserves this final wicket more than Zulfi

Nawaz bowled only four overs...Why's in the team?

He's got a vast collection of jokes to keep spirits buoyed in the field. Going to be a vital part of the team in Australia during those long sessions in the field.

130-140 runs in this innings should be enough before reinserting Windies again.

Probably should have around four and a half sessions to bowl them out.

Sami Aslam is even much slower than Azhar!!!!! Tuk tuk tuk tuk. Whats wrong with him????

Have both of them lost their minds ?? Why are they hitting boundaries. We need some consolidation here before we even think about scoring runs and that too in boundaries PATHETIC !!

I think we should bat normally for this session and tomorrow's first. Then go all out for the second session tomorrow and then declare.

You will need Bishoo's help then. Knowing Misbah he won't declare before setting a target of 450 at the least.

Like Alistair Cook he is a safety first cap. So I think they will bat till lunch tomorrow.

Clearly ball hitting little finger on the glove are umpires blind ?

Ohh rameez gotta feel for him. He really is talking just for the sake of it
Really doesnt even understand the basics.

Ramiz blabbering on about 'showing aggression'. :29:

I remember during our last tour of the English summer whenever the Sky commentary took Rambo to task on any batting prediction or analysis, his favorite go to logic was....

"Maybe promote Sarfaraz and show some aggression"

Although listening to his 3rd man was as hilarious as it could get :)) Totally clueless

This Test is so boring, will need to watch the last two dayd alone

Poor umpires.

Shameless celebration from the bowler, pathetic and rubbish team this.

How about now and other decision reversed today absolutely bad umpiring.

He should spot that edge yeah, but unless those sunglasses have x-ray vision with super zoom lenses there's no way he could have spotted the ball brushing the little finger of the glove.

We really should cut the umpires some slack. It's a difficult job especially in the UAE heat. Sami Aslam's decision should've been picked up by the on-field umpire but there was nothing wrong in giving Azhar Ali out. It was impossible for the umpire to spot the finger brush.

Rambo :))) Fazeer very clearly asks him if he remembers the story about Curtley and Dean Jones, Ramiz just ignores it because he had already decided what nonsense he was going to spew :)))

How much has Sami Aslams batting deteriorated from Edgebaston? He is following the well worn path of looking like a world beater at the start and beginning the journey to looking like a tailender.

These guys are sooo slow even against the 3rd rate WI bowling on dead tracks

They might not score a single run for hours when they play in Aus

Sami Aslam has 20 from 59 balls today.

In his first innings at Edgbaston after 59 balls he had scored...19 runs.

these are the time you really miss hafeez in these condition against these mediocre spinners he wouldve really enjoyed bagging couple of century with 70+SR

Cautious approach probably a reaction to how overly aggressive and complacent we were in the 2nd inns in Dubai when Bishoo took that 8-fer.

He's playing in much more familiar conditions and against a much weaker bowling attack

Also now that he is a regular in the team, his confidence should've improved

He really hasn't shown any progression

But he played on pitch which had something, this is flat wicket. But more than that his body language looks poor at the crease, especially when he defends.

Hahahah so true. He then proceeds and says holder can bat at 3/ 4. The other commie was like WHAT?!?!?!

And still they managed to win 2 out of 4 in ENG. Still they manage to win so many in the UAE.

You guys shouldnt watch test cricket.

Its only day 3 !

Run rate in UAE is always slow, Edgbaston pitch does more but the ball comes on to the bat which makes it easier to score.

It's more complicated than "familiar conditions"

I see your point but Sami in particular looks to have no shots through the off side and has no footwork when defending. In many ways he reminds of Taufeeq Umer, who was excellent at the start and went backwards at a rate of knots.

I think your missing my point, his footwork is just so poor.

Poor batting by Pakistan after having a chance to put them to follow on. People do not want to see such cricket.

One thing that may cause Aslam problems also is that shuffle across the crease leaving him susceptible to LBW. Pacers should try bowling fuller to him early on.

He plants his front leg too much across , a good inswinger will always be a killer.

You're saying he's deteriorated since Edgbaston, where he left the ball against seamers for the first half of his innings.

Here he's facing mostly spinners who keep attacking the stumps, of course he's not going to look the same.

He looks fine, stop with the knee jerk reactions.

Buddy you're clearly barking the wrong tree here... PP doesn't really rate anyone who isn't a Gun-Slinging teenager
