Pakistan v West Indies | 3rd Test | Sharjah | Oct 30-Nov 3, 2016 | Day 1

Bangladesh turning it on after Tea. This is incredible.

They didn't give it out because the umpire thought there was no conclusive evidence to suggest there was no bat and hence it cannot overrule the on-field decision.

Misbah is lucky. WI have a right to feel hard done by. That was clearly out.

Good for us though. Come on Misbah make it count

England vs Bangladesh is the match to watch. This UAE dead rubber is a super borefest.

UAE test pitches are torture. These pitches need to be rank turners from Day 1.

Aslam has to convert this to 3 figures here, needs to get the monkey off his back.

Sami needs to learn how to accelerate once you're set. He is so one-dimensional in play that brings a lot of pressure onto himself. Had he been more positive he would've in the 80's right now instead of 60's. The ability to get on top of the bowlers will only help Sami improve his overall gameplay.

As Rameez said, that was glorious by Aslam, Saeed Anwar could not have hit it better.

He's only 20 bro. Will learn and develop with time.

Yeah that's true. I think he's still scared of his place in the team so he naturally wants to eliminate any type of risk in his game which is commendable. Shows his hunger.

Morning everyone, just switching on now.

How's the pitch behaved ?

...."that's Azhar's Ali's family"......."oh maybe not...."Rambo help".....:))

God these guys are playing too slow. At least take some single doubles.

Sami Aslam should be kicked out for this type of shot. I wonder why this guy can not score 100

This tool Holder should be kicked out - this is 3rd review of own bowling when ball is missing & umpire had given NO

Azhar should stop playing ODI to revive his test career otherwise soon or later he will be kicked out from ODI and eventually from test. Shafiq is not no. 3 player. He should go back to his no. 6 position to play when there is no swing

At least one poster got my message. The board that can appoint Azhar ODI captain for Test performance, can easily drop him from Test team on ODI performance.

Also, he is a very limited, gutsy batsman, whose game is based on application, patience & slow build up. Playing ODI actually is exposing his guard - that's not his core.

OMG knee-jerk reaction.

At number 6 Shafiq usually faces the new ball so not sure how accurate your point is

Our tail will have to do work in this innings. Amir, Yasir and Wahab all don't have Test match 50s. This is a perfect opportunity. No excuses.

leatherface58 England went out of their to set the precedent, now Pak will follow in their foot steps and put over struggling mid-carders :)) we're seeing a big shift in the industry :yk

Thora Zaida Hogaya mere Bahi :ma - I would take a combined score of 50 from all of them with both hands right now !!

Shafiq has only one weakness.........inswinging ball near the stumps. If only he can learn to play the inswinging deliveries better then I think he will be a complete batsman.

After long deliberation, Misbah's out.

Well I'm grateful WI are at least making this a contest.

Man these reverse sweeps are always too risky. Should have tired to keep it simple.

This 5 batsman and sarfaraz strategy won't work in NZ and Aus!

Pak has an incredibly important decision to make.
Go in with 5 bowlers with Nawaz or another alrounder at 5 and risk not making enough runs
OR
Go in with the same strategy as England and play the extra batsman and 4 bowlers . .

For me, we were competitive in England cuz we were able to score enough runs. I am not convinced with 6 batsman instead of 7, we can put enough runs on the board.

Exactly. Babar Must come in.

Management tries to fix something which is going well. Allrounders should not play test matches until they are very strong in one side of game either batting or bowling.

The AR should be a batting AR like an Imad or Yamin rather than a bowling AR like Nawaz.

Not against Nawaz. He is fantastic find specially for LOIs but not threatening enough as spinner in Test Level. And batting potential is around 35-38. But we could play a better batsman in his place

What the hell is wrong with the standard of umpiring . . across the board!!!

Don't think Nawaz has bright future in Test, maybe Imad should be tried, because he seems better batter then former.

We don't need a spinning allrounder outside Asia so it doesn't matter if it's Nawaz or Imad. We need seam allrounders.

Not a test quality bowler, may as well play a specialist batsman like Babar at #6 instead.

Pakistan should not play Nawaz again in tests. Just a liability. In OZ/NZ you have to play 7 batsmen including sarfraz and get a few overs from Azhar/Azam. That's enough.

Playing 4 bowlers is defensive mentality imo.

I'd rather we think about taking 20 wickets.

Anyways there are solid arguments for 6-5 or 7-4

Going with 6 batsmen, Sarfu and 4 bowlers wouldn't work.

We've seen it in ENG and before where our main bowlers look jaded, and we desperately missed 5th bowling option.

Going with 5 batsmen, keeper, all-rounder and 4 bowlers is good. However, we need a better player at no.7. A player who can maintain 38+ average (ideally more) consistently. A batting all-rounder (Imad maybe) - who can be used as part-time bowler to share workload of main 4 bowlers. I wouldn't mind if doesn't look much threating with ball as long as he keep the run flow in check and contribute 1 or 2 wickets.

This is best strategy. To go for 7 Batsmen and 4 Bowlers. Dont know why we even changed that combo.

Azhar
Sami
Shafiq
YK
Misbah
Babar
Yasir
Amir
Wahab
Rahat

We should play this team in Australia.

Even YK can bowl few overs. Imad wont be the same like in LOIs.

Who's gonna keep wicket for that team. Looks like you really hate Sarfaraz, going in with a 10 man team
