Two quick wickets and we will feel the heat.
Relax, it's 219-3 tehnically
Not really, Shafiq is in next and he is very good.
Can't every Test be in Dubai - this has been a great Test. Action on a regular basis, enough to keep the viewer interested.
This day alone has been more exciting than the 4 days of the Abu Dhabi borefest.
I am not worried about this match yet, but a trailer of what to expect on green. Chance of 4-0 against England. If we have Amir/Asif along with Wahab/Yasir, maybe we can win one test.

Dreading the England tour next summer
I am struggle to see how paks batting line up will score over 150 in any innings
Rashid's action looks really weird.
But can he handle pressure.
He would never make the Pakistani team.
Doubt his prolonged stay in the English team as well. Bowls really slow!
Why they play short pitch bowling so pathetically??
At our level we love short pitch, that's hit me delivery for us.

Losing Hafeez at that time was massive blow.

Misbah & YK are old. Hardly ever play it. Same with Shafiq and Azhar really.
Only good pullers are Hafeez, Shehzad, Akmal & Babar.
It's the Shane Warne effect.
A generation of young spinners grew up wanting to bowl just like him and coaches decided that because he was the best ever, everybody should copy his style. So instead of jogging in, they walk gently to the crease. Instead of bouncing and jumping through the crease they conserve energy.
It totally ignores the fact that Warne was a freak of nature who could generate incredible power from his shoulder and wrist from a gentle run-up.
Look at the difference in how Yasir and Rashid approach the crease and you'll have an answer as to why Yasir bowls that little bit faster.
Short delivery coming at 140+ is hard to manage.

Wood is a smart bowler. Mixes it up pretty well !
On these wickets it's not that hard.
Secondly they play 75-80 mph short pitch the same way as well. Premeditatedly ducking, no game plane of actually ever playing now it.

Misbah looking ungainly against Rashid bhai, but I suspect a slog to Cow Corner is imminent.
Imperative we get 350+
Weird to have to associate Misbah of all people to slogging.
He bowls with pace too. Hovering around 86-89mph.
Which Akmal?
Younis hits a pacer down the ground for four. Surprise.
He does like to slog, but the idea of taking singles is what kills him.

Do you have 90 mph bowlers bowling bouncers at your head at your level?
I am pretty good of guy now. But we have seen these Asian players come to play here in USA. They are not good at short pitch, there technique is poor, it's not speed. Too much on the front foot, don't have back foot game. You can control them on back foot.
It was surprising to see international players not so good with short and back of length bowling specially guys from India and Pakistan.

Sounds a bit like Shehzad in that regard.
Shehzad doesn't do either these days.
The most underrated tuk-tuk.

Doubt it.
Asian players have a strong front foot game; flicking of the wrists is more common than hammering a bouncer.
Hafeez is probably the only one that does it with authority in the team.
shehzad is also a good puller n hooker.
in fact he is very strong of the back foot
kami, another one
That doesn't mean a thing.
One of the many reasons for sitting out from the test team.
I meant in the team.
If I had to name, Inzi was good, even Afridi was not that bad.

Azhar Not Hafeez. Azhar has best over all game against pace; sound defense, pull, cut and drive. That's why I wanted him to open in Odis specially after two new balls.
For similar reason I want Harris to be in top 3/4 in test, he has very sound defense against pace. He plays late and watch the ball till end. He need to work on playing short ball, but that is true for everybody.

azhar cant score off the short ball, can duck n fend okayish which is why he has survived.
haris is also poor on the short ball
in this facet, hafeez trumps both so called best players of pace
Everyone does it now, got to get that sponsors logo on TV.
These two should aspire to extend the lead around 350 today, then Sarfraz and Shafiq to add a quickfire 50-60 in first session tomorrow and declare.
Pakistan need atleast a lead of 450
"Da paisu spee dey"
Means every player nowadays has only one goal and that is to maximize their income in whatever way they can, they're literally dogs running after $$$
