Oh God! don't even mention his name, he bats like a tailender with extremely poor defensive, our best bet currently to occupy one opening slot is Ahmad Shehzad, he's much better test bat than what people make him out to be. Average of 47 is no joke albeit flat UAE Tracks. Needs to be picked up for Masood in the next test!

Sorry just saw this. Well that is exactly what he is.

He has only managed to play 14 Tests till the age of 30 because he was not good enough to be a world class fast bowler.

Only in Pakistan will Wahab after 2-3 great spells, be compared to a bowler with 300 Test wickets and 12 5-fers, who has won matches for his team in the den of the number one ranked Test team.

The only similarity between the two is the bowling style, but Johnson far more accomplished and is actually good with the new ball as well.

Looks like there is no middle ground with Pakistani fans: 2 years ago, he was crap; now he is a legend.

The truth that he is somewhere in between - a good/decent fast bowler who can be unplayable at times, nothing more.

Ash at is our best player of fast bowling, ideal for one down. Malik is suited for Misbah's spot, he will not be able to sustain one down slot for too long. Azhar owned it for 6 years with decent authority.

Even when we go to green and bounce, he will be main guy along with Shafiq to play seamers. Haris Sohail is another one who can play seamers. Hafeez, Shan, Shezad are pretty useless in England or on green. YK can have a good innings or two provided he is not on crease before 10 overs.

Misbah has probably highest number of LBWs and that too against seamers on slow wickets, how he can play on green and bounce. I can see major changes next year this time around, after we fail miserably in England.

Azhar is leagues ahead of Malik in test cricket. Even more so if you are talking the one down position.

The reluctance of Younis, Misbah and Shafiq to bat at 3 is shameful. They are better equipped than Mirz for this role.

Only in Pakistan will you see such lack of guts.

Not just in Pakistan, Root is not going to play at no 3 either. Smith played but that did not worked out so well in England, when ball was seaming. Kholi will not do either, best batsmen rarely play at three. Every team, protect their best at two down, save them from new ball, unless you are natural new ball player like Cook or Ponting.

Azhar is well equipped, Pakistan is missing him at number 3.
