I disagree with any changes of the ODI format, why change a format to satisfy 20/20 lovers....

Finishing ODIs will mean no more ODI classics like:

- Aus vs SA - WC Semi
- Aus vs SA - Jo'burg (434 chased)
- Pak vs India - Karachi 04, Mohali 07

Also if ODI is abolished, what about those runs accumulated by Tendulkar...will they go with the abolishment of ODIs as well..

Well rain probably means that IND's innings has ended now especially because PAK already had a slow over rate.

Probably going through the 50 over might have been better for PAK to allow them to take a couple more wicket and not go at more than 7 an over. But yet again if rain lasts longer then a chase of 35-40 overs at 7 to 7.5 an over can be interesting.

whats the difference in 10 overs that changes a batsmans experience from 2020 to test match level.
no more tinkering with ODI's i think, beat 2020 for me.

I think rematch only happens if less than 25 overs have been bowled on the day. They would probably be better wait for IND-BANG result before having a rematch, otherwise IND would be playing for 3 straight days.

Anyways, the rain is not going to last long enough to wash away the remaining nights cricket. It will just be interesting to see how much the D/L comes into play.

Do not fix it if it ain't broken! ODI has its own charm. T20 will come close if each side has 6 players who can bat and bowl rest 5 can field only. It is just too many batsmen and bowlers for just 20 overs.
