Funny game cricket is. thanranga looked way more comfortable than Jayasuriya. Sanath even survived a plumb LBW and a dropped half chance. Yet Tharanga goes.
 
i hope jayasuriya gets 50 odd and carries his bat :P tht wud mean the rest of the SL team wud screw up BIG TIME :D

Definitely untill the drinks break. After that Rao might get a bowl in place of Gul. Asif should bowl atleast 8-10 overs on the trot.
 
Razzaq should be the bowling change whenever it is...he is good against left handers

Sangakarra in general murders razzi. I would bring in Rao, he brings the ball back in, Sangakarra is susecptible early on
 
Gul is once again wasting the new ball by bowling too short, maybe Pakistan should have gone with Roa with the new ball.
 
10.3 Asif to Jayasuriya, no run, angling across the off, Jayasuriya comes on the frontfoot to defend, it beats the outside edge

As a front line seamer, Rao deserves to be first change. He should be backed and expected to deliver the goods!
 
I think Gul has tons of talent infact he swing the ball most amongst Pakistan pacers but since his comeback he has been on the shorter side. Saw Waqar talking to him about his bowling but he hasn't changed anything since.
 
Asif is got to be amongst the best new ball bowlers in the world to me this guys is just as good as any worldclass new ball pacer.

Ok i assume you have seen him bowl, his length is usually a metre shorter than the good length, his line is usually wayward he can't keep to 1 side of the stump. He has no pace, he used to seam the ball a bit even that is down the drain now. Pakistan plays mostly on flat wickets, we need guys who can do wonders on such wickets i.e the pacier bowlers who swing it.

The U-19 guy who copies gul, bowls better than gul.

the person who swings the ball the most in the pak attack is Rana. The guy who controls the ball best is Shoaib/Asif. THe guy who wastes the ball the most is GuL

You can't be serious its a FLUUUUUUUU!!! = Achooo Achoo!!!!!

Im sure you urself would have gone out and played cricket loads of time with that. If you have seen wasim and waqar's joint show on ESPN right after they retired they were like whts with these new guys, zara sa bukhar hota hai they dont play. Then they went on to explain how they all used to play with fever....it is not even a physical injury.

And seriously Heart Patient vs Flu? hardly an argument.

they shoudlnt bring in kaneria till lunch atleast...the conditions are conducive to seam bowling...probably give asif a breather after 2 more overs...get razzi in for a 5 over spell and bring back gul and asif from diffrent ends.

I agree, Gul has been a bit short. But this is his second test match back and it will take him some time to get back to full form and fitness. I think his inclusion is a precursor for the England tour where the conditions are favorable for seam up. He has to be groomed because his talent is evident.

If it comes down to Rana or Gul, who would u choose to play in the 1st test match at Lords?

im more than willing to give him the run required to see if he's fit enuff for int. cricket, but ... my gut feeling comples me to keep my hopes low about him. ... i hope i am wrong for pakistans sake.

I suppose you have played Test Cricket at Int'l level with flu in Lanka like conditions...if you haven't and don't know how bad Malik's condition is; you are merely doing 'Choroo Baazi', meaning making things out of the thin air!

Ever heard of indirect analogy to prove something else...

My point was, every patient and his condition is different from the other, even if they have the same illness; otherwise there will be only one medicine for Flu, period.

I can think of 100 medicines that treat various kinds of flu like symptoms...some mild, some worse and some very severe

Rana. He's familar with the English conditions, more experienced and better with the bat. In England I would go with Shoaib, Asif and Rana. Gul and Razzak would be reserves whom we may have to turn to keeping in mind its a 4 test series.

How can any of those retired idiots tell us how badly Malik is suffering from Flu and fever...unless you and I have first hand knowledge about Malik; it is all heresay

BTW, one of these fools, used to get 'Injured' all of a sudden, right before the start of a game...cause he didn't like something the skipper said or like wise

It is almost impossible to even play Guli cricket for 2 hours with a flu!

Playing a 5 day test match is out of question!
