In terms of technical terms, Baber Azam is miles ahead of all Pakistani batsmen in the ODI squad and seems to have the game for test cricket too. Its his concentration which can be the issue

They already hv done well with Azhar and Shafiq and I thought Omar Akmal Wd hv improved his game had they persisted with him in tests but then he has only himself to blame for that.
Babar looks a real deal n needs to be given a chance in tests to improve his game further. He's age on his side to become a better player. I don't know whether inzi Wd select him for tests or not and it Wd be a tragedy if he doesn't.

Yes , that was a mistake Inzamam made , never groomed test batsmen , Younis and Misbah must groom couple of youngsters. When they bat with them , they will learn a lot.

The bigger question is why this guy was made to bat at 5 after that U19 career. If am not a great batting "Coach" like Basit Ali, but the first thing stroked my mind was his balance - if Coach/Selectors can't identify the position of a batsman from his game then anyone with Internet & excel sheet can be batting coach & selector.

Main issue is somewhere else - now the wind is blowing opposite, otherwise, very next match he would have batted at 5, leaving MoHa the No. 3 spot. This has already cost PAK another brilliant prospect in Amin.

Thankfully it's been rectified at international level and he is batting in the correct position. He will learn more at international level than domestic cricket considering how poor our domestic cricket is.

PAK must plan that the asking never goes beyond 7 - that's the way to bring batting depth in to count.

I think the reason we want power hitters is because we dont have the players who can clear the boundary int he back end of an innings

plus very few players in pak can rotate strike. Babar is one, sarfraz is okay, Umar is good at it as well ( usally).

Azhar is doing well today but usually awful.

Still off all the names mentioned Umar is the only one capabale of hitting out in the end
