In the country’s largest city of Karachi, Dhoom 3’s box office receipts from 56 screens on its opening day was around Rs 20 million. This easily broke the record set by the Pakistani film Waar last month for the highest box office collections on the first day of release.

"Waar grossed Rs 11.4 million on its opening day but Dhoom 3 has surpassed that by a large margin," said Nadeem Mandviwalla, one of Pakistan’s leading exhibitors and distributors.

Thanks!!!!! Runner up been long awaiting the UK release date glad i will be able to finally see it

Is waar the second most successful movie in pakistan after Dhoom 3 or third after D3 and Chennai express??

it's disappointing that they're going to be releasing in cineworld, the worst possible cinema. if it was vue i would have booked my seats but i'm not going to cineworld. i'd rather wait and watch it at home sitting comfortably on my sofa. cineworld - pathetic leg room, poor seating and rubbish screens and the closest one for me is feltham and that's a place i never want to visit again

Why do people get all worked up when it comes to Pakistan and India... Our politicians and army generals have HUGE egos and thats the cause of majority of our problems both internally and externally. A few individuals want to try and run everything, they try to brain wash you with jingoistic media barrage to make you feel special in some type of way but the fact is average man gets nothing from this at the end of the day.

However, going back to the topic, this is very very very good... people waited long time to see some decent Pakistani movies with NEW talent and not the same old shaan and remaa. I hope this leads to more talented people picking up future projects that get appreciated by everyone.

I watched it. I don't rate it too highly. As a Pakistani u can say it's a step up especially in terms of the action sequences. Besides tht tho the storyline isn't too impressive. I'd rate it 5/10 . I would say khuda Kay liye and Bol were far superior movies. I'm looking forward to zinda bhag which is releasing in Dubai this week.

watched it on sunday. Although the story line and acting leave a little to be desired, it is extremely well made. Good performances by Shaan and Shamoon. Would give it a solid 7/10.

I loved the entry of Ehtesham, one minute he's dressed as an old baba and next he's a badass!

Producer should have listened to the director, the movie should have been made in Urdu. Considering that the industry is a wreck, they brought new equipment with no expertise in the tech. team, this movie needs to be applaud. Great work on debut.

A good effort by the film producers although feel it should have been made in Urdu . The film looked quite dark although Shaan and Shamoons' performance were good and complimented each other quite well also as it was mostly in English the dialogues were quite short and lacked the impact you would get if it were in Urdu.
I will give it a 7/10.

Going to watch this on Wednesday Inshaa Allah, can't wait

Saw it tonight and loved it! Some unexpected twists too...(not giving anything away) but I LOVED the scene just before the intermission. If I'm being picky, some parts moved too fast. 8/10

The baddie (Shamoon) was played magnificently

I agree it would have been better in Urdu with English subtitles.

Looking forward to Waar 2 though

7/10 the story could have been executed better but easily the best action movie to come out the sub continent in history. Also why were our indian bros so offended by the movie, they never emphasized the "indian" threat and at the end of the day its a movie. i still find bollywood movies entertaining as long as they are good even when the pakistanis are main villains

Guys any idea if the movie is playing in Sharjah anywhere? I m here for the next 2 days

Went to watch it today in a movie theater that was surprisingly full given that its been out for a while now.

A lot of the dialogue and acting was cheesy but overall it was a good movie and well filmed. Really slick piece of work. 7/10

I left very satisfied and hope that its a sign of a lot more to come. Pakistan is a country going through a bit of an identity crisis, contains a number of races with vastly different cultures and contains people on different sides of the conservative/liberal scale so it really should be a movie makers dream. Especially as the country itself is visually stunning.

Good news for those who didn't watch it

Is there a DVD out for this film?

Is that only on ARY in Pakistan or ARY in UK as well?

Not sure but I guess it doesn't matter because once it is released on TV, soon will be available for download via torrents etc.

By the way I don't like watching movies on TV because of annoying ads and long commercial breaks. I will wait for torrents.

I've followed this thread and I'd like to see this film.

I presume the Urdu bits won't be too hard to understand either.

The Hindi you see in Indian movies is actually Urdu for most part. So, yeah you wont have any problems.

holy crap ali azmat's acting sucked. everyone's acting sucked. Shaan's acting in comparison made him look like Denzel Washington.

4/10 ... expected much better!

Extremely disappointing. All hype. No coherent story

Excellent movie for Pakistani Standards...Enjoyed it. All in all, a step forward for the Pakistani movie industry... A MILLION times better than those Punjabi movie crap we make.

Those who are complaining about the movie, let me tell them that it was so much fun watching it on big screen. It was technically good, picture quality and sound quality as compare to other Pak movies were much better. Of course you won't enjoy watching it on youtube etc.

Yeah was a good movie for pakistan, film was targeting the western market rather than pakistan

I was looking forward to watching this movie but was disappointed. Albeit for Pakistani standards its a good movie.

The casting was not good especially with Ali Azmat and Shamoon Abbasi. The English accents looked dubbed most of the time and the story was nothing new.

Still I would give it 6/10 for Pakistani standard.

over all great movie but The English accents :( good try by directer to show reality
as Pakistani standard 8/10

Just watched the movie think the story was good, but the lead actors were terrible. They brought down the movie
