It was a nothing shot and he shan been getting out on the same shot too many times now. He is poking at these deliveries and throwing his wicket away.

Why would you think Abdullah batting in Australia for the first time in his life (zero A tours as well) against the best bowling attack in the world and in such tough batting conditions would be a breakthrough series? Babar got annihilated in his first tour to Aus too.

Even Aussie batsmen have struggled to score because the pitches throughout the series have been pretty spicy. It's been a pretty poor series for all of our batsmen except Shan & Rizwan. Agha has been ok.

Shan has always looked like this international cricket. He loses concentration and people say he plays positively.
 
If the batsmen weren't here to just on a vacation we could have been much more competitive this series. Batting has let us down hugely.
 
34/2 & 90 minutes of play left which is like 18-19 overs . 100/3 would be good eod Cummins permitting !
 
Real test cricket is like this one. Exciting and unpredictable.
 
Amazing test so far.

Babar is due for a big one and Ayub playing without fear for a man making debut.

He has shown to have the technique and temperament to play well in challenging conditions and regardless of the fact it is his first series in Aus, he has been picked to do a job and more was expected from his batting not 110 runs at an average of 18 which is shocking. We need to raise the bar and not settle for mediocrity regardless of where we play otherwise we will never flourish outside of Asia.
 
Saim is in negative arrears so he has to score to make up for his blemishes in the field.

His off stump judgement, though, is much better than his captain who looked like a nervous wreck and it seemed he was the one making his debut.

Ayub needs to focus on leaving well.

He has the strokes to score as long as he's there.

Shan used to be better at leaving and worse at scoring than he is now

Poor guy can't find a balance
 
We need to see off the first 20 overs then cash in once the ball gets softer. Saim needs to stick in there and play to the situation which he seems to be doing by respecting the good balls and punishing the bad ones.
 
Saim has been good so far. good leaves. His technique is real and knows his scoring areas.
Abdullah technique is fake. Good for Instagram and tiktok as Rana bhai said

Should have had Marsh twice as well and the runs against him would have come down by 20-30.

Pitch starting to crack up. These quick runs from Saim will be very crucial as even 200 would be a challenging target to chase for Australia
 
Lyon - if these 2 can score quickly off him there would be huge pressure on AUS as Starc done for the day .
 
Imam and babar both need somebody on the other end in order to survive and score runs. The inability to score runs independently is a big main concern for these batters. Fakhar is a hack sometimes but he does not need anybody to score his runs
 
Much better performance in the last 2 tests , only if they have caught well Margin would have been 2-1 Pakistan.

This pitch is really difficult to bat on. Look at the grip and spin from Lyon and low bounce from Cummins.
 
Babar and Saim should play sensibly here. Runs are coming, just need to be more careful.
 
Some dangerous variable bounce

If im not mistaken, cummins hasn't been able to get rishab pant out even once, so saim being an aggressive left hander is ideal for pakistan
 
Getting runs is important but equally important to bat as long as possible so that the rough patches get more and more pronounced.

Pakistan has a great chance if they manage to bat around 90 overs in this innings.

Atleast 5th day is pretty much guaranteed now 😅

Barring a very possible collapse ofcourse
 
What an enthralling Test match this is. When you get good proper pitches, that is what bring Test matches into life. Great stuff from both teams and it could swing either way pretty quick here.

Sydney area​

Cloudy. Slight chance of a brief shower in the morning. Light winds becoming easterly 15 to 20 km/h in the early afternoon then becoming light in the evening.
 
Forcast looks okay for the remaining days. Chances of rain is slim.
 
The Aussie fielder looks to be under pressure. Lots of misfields and unnecessary throws.
