The rain has ultimately dictated terms, leading to an early Stumps call on Day 2, with only 46 overs bowled today. The match is currently finely balanced.

Initially, Hamza and Hasan Ali were a bit wayward, but Warner and Khawaja approached their innings cautiously. In his farewell Test, Warner received a reprieve on 20 when Saim Ayub dropped a straightforward chance in the slips. However, luck was on his side until Salman delivered an excellent delivery, leading to Warner's dismissal.

Khawaja displayed determination but couldn't capitalize on the start, falling to Jamal. Jamal, in his two bursts, bowled with good rhythm. Labuschagne showcased composure and seemed settled.

Play was halted in the later part of the afternoon session due to bad light, followed by persistent rain. Australia still trails by 197 runs, but with plenty of firepower remaining. The forecast for the next three days looks promising, raising hopes for a decisive outcome in the game.

Aus is there for the taking, at least force a draw here PCT.

Australia is never there for the taking in Australia. You need to consistently win sessions to take them down. Not one session. two session. Nothing illustrated that better than the last test. From 16/4 they went on to win the game by 79 runs.

Need to be on it straight away. Fielding needs to be on point. 2 wickets in the first half hour and we are on top. Getting a new ball after lunch too!!
Can't be fielding all day today as it's a long day

16 match streak is unlucky for Australia. Australia has a streak of 16 test wins (against various oppositions) twice. Both times India broke it. Can Pakistan break the 16 match streak (against one team at home venue)?

Good bowling by the bowlers. Keep it tight wickets will come and pitch is getting worse

Australia are going nowhere

Waiting for spinners basically

Is Babar ok? Behaving really strange in this Test match

Labu had a terrible 2023. Smith had average one. They have turned into Cheteswar pujara recently. Absolutely no intention to score runs.
Yah, both of them seems to just wait for bad balls.

when i first saw sajid i thought he might become a good spinner but bloody hell this guys is absolute trash

It's incredible that all the spinners in Pakistan do one thing brilliantly: not spin the ball.

Huge credit to Imad for bringing in this mentality of zero spin. Ushered in a factory of no-spin bowlers - Shadab / Nawaz / Imad / Nauman / Sajid / Iftikhar.

Imad the trailblazer.

This is not a bowlers pitch. Australian batsmen averages 52 at the SCG in the last 10 years. Unless there is some overcast conditions or some patches you can't take cluster of wickets here. or some exceptional spell or stupid shot.

How is Imad responsible for a chain of spinners to follow after him? Did he cultivate them in some factory?

It’s Misbah who should be thanked for producing a lineage of 70s batsmen in the modern era

Why is Rizwan setting the field? Is it because he is the most pious guy in the side?

Shan Masood back on the field,

Now the run rate will come back in controlS

As usual, Rizwan will steer the plain into terrain

Jamal please take 100 test wickets first before you start to eyeball batsmen who average 50+

Cricket is a cruel game, you will be nothing before you are anything son.

What's the point of bringing on Sajid

He's gone for runs and has released a bit of pressure that the opening bowlers had kept.

Bowling to a left hander is different from bowling to a right hander. Unless you have doosra it is very difficult to create doubts in the batsman's mind.

I'm going to sleep hoping that when I wake up pak will have 100 runs of lead with all 10 wickets in hand

asking too much? haha

16 overs and 60 runs are too many. Specially Aus is not even looking to score quickly.

Ball too old and knackered now to do anything for the pacers...time to bring spin from both ends with Agha

The bowling looks toothless, this is what a Shaheen spell does in moments like these, really ruffle the oppositions feathers

Game slipping away bring in agha for few overs. And get quickly to the new ball

This partnership is going nowhere. this test slowly going towards a draw unless Head and Marsh come to party.

Why other spinner is not bowling? He bowled better yesterday,

Today they bowl extra overs. If they hang around till tea then they can accelerate in the 3rd session. Guys like Marsh/Head can score 150 runs in 25 overs easily.

Where are the pace doesn't matter brigade?

Selectors really need to stop picking a spinner like Sajid just because of the sake of it. There is something called assessing quality and potential as well.

Wasim Jr might have been more expensive than Hassan Ali but might have had a better chance of picking up a wicket in the process

Mohammad Wasim must’ve been bowling pure trash in the nets if he couldn’t get in the XI ahead of Hasan Ali…

A 29 year old who was once bowling around 140 is now struggling to touch 130.🤷🏻‍♂️

Wasim jnr should have play all three test. Surly he is better than Hasan Ali and can bowl 135+

He is definitely a big miss, he can bowl upwards of 140 clicks consistently and could have been the difference when conditions are more placcid like they are now
We have done well when cloud cover and seam movement is there but today the lack of pace has been laid bare and we look toothless

Those who’ are complaining about Hassan’ bowling at 120kph are the same who say pace doesn’t matter. Stop being hypocritical

Sajid Khan - 19 over 64 runs 0 wicket
Agha Salman - 9 over 18 runs 1 wicket
Agha should bowl more Over from here

Rabada's average speed was 132 or 133 kph. Skill plays a major role. Art of setting of batsmen all these things cannot be substitue with few yards of pace. If anything on a track like this would be a friend for batsmen.

How long of a delay has this been? It feels like it’s been 20 minutes.
