The comeback trail isn’t always smooth. After a break from T20Is Babar Azam returned with plenty of hype but South Africa had other ideas. In his first outing of the second phase Babar just couldn’t find his rhythm or timing and got out on duck. A scratchy start a bit of rust at the crease is a reminder that even the best need time to get back in the groove.
 
Enough is enough! Bas Bohot ho gaya!

Everything about him is dragging Pakistan cricket down to new lows! The issue is his reluctance to actually acknowledge his short comings and working hard, showing improvement that warrants actual selection!

He destroyed his captaincy credentials with the stupid decision to backstab Shaheen,

Now he is on the same route with his white ball career by shamelessly returning to the T20 side and totally unsettling a good team gelling together under Hesson!!

how can a player bring himself back?

If he is dragging team down , then sack naqvi who brought him back
 
If he fails this series, will they drop him again? And, if they do then who will be held accountable for his selection?
 
Optimistically speaking Good attempt to take a difficult catch and good intent with bat without wasting balls :)
 
Babar Azam registered his eighth duck in T20Is, equaling Afridi’s record and placing third on the list of most international ducks in the format.

I criticized Saim for his slow batting in the PP. Don't understand why do you get hurt whenever I criticize Babar!
 
I can bet these tullas like usman,hassanetc cant get even into kashmirs ranji team.
I can atleast 10-15 batters in local cricket who are better than this garbage

The worst so far has been Saim.. He was out for another duck but the fielder dropped an easy peasy catch.

I didn't know that Pakistan needed a certain NRR to get to the finals tomorrow. Clear lack of cricketing knowledge.

Explains the state of the team. Kids don't know about cricket anymore. You play according to the situation.

No, you’re the one missing the point. Since 2022, he hasn’t been good enough to earn a place in Pakistan’s T20 side.

The fact that he’s struggling to score even at a run-a-ball rate against a weakened South African bowling attack—while his teammates are scoring freely—says everything.

His strike rate today perfectly reflects his actual ability. Sorry to break it to you, but your response actually exposes your reading of the game.

Babar’s run tally gives a misleading impression of his quality since nearly all of his runs have come from feasting on minnow and B/C bowling attacks in meaningless bilaterals. What’s ironic is that, even with those easier runs, his strike rate still falls short compared to others on this list
 
Unfair to Babar to call him v2.0.

He didn’t do anything different to get back into the team. He just sat out some games. Chilled with family and friends and waited for the selectors to call him back.

He’s the same Babar that was dropped. Expecting anything different from him is pointless

Highest run getter for Pakistan in WC 2024

So stop undermining the highest run getter of the format.

Whether you like it or not.... Babar's name is at the top in t20 batter's list... You cannot ignore this fact... Make all excuses that he scored like this he did this bla bla... But reality is, Pakistan has not seen a better batter than him in last decade...

Babar's current form is under dirt, true, but he made that record after years of hard work... Cannot ignore that
 
Such a gracious knock by Babar. No one else would dare play at under run a ball on home ground chasing small total against weakened attack. He made sure Saim got chance to get back in form and get 50. Imagine if Hasan Nawaz or even Muhammad Nawaz was sent one down they would have played selfish knocks scoring at 150 Sr and not letting Saim get his 50 even.

Thank you to King Babar.

Now job done, we can rest him for 3rd t20 just in case we have to score 200 or something.

Saim registered another duck today , he is already equal umar Akmal record of most ducks in T20I cricket for pakistan. :kp

I know it hurts you on the inside so you resort to crass humor to hide your pain. The King is back. The all time top scorer in T20I. Your hero Rohit was dethroned. Tulla Harris and 120 SR Fakhar were sent back. Usman and tulla Agha will soon be kicked out and Rizwan will be back. Babar served humble pie to his haters today.

King is back and is at the top of the table! Pure slap in the face of the doubters. Team which was struggling to win vs BD in the Asia Cup suddenly looks much better with a reliable Babar at 3 instead of tulla Talat and Harris. Just need tulla Agha to go with Usman and we are good. Glory days will be back soon. This is the most optimistic I have felt about our cricket all year.

We need to make a concentrated effort to highlight stats and put pressure on tulla Agha and Usman Khan. I have circulated stats and numbers on social media and engaged various well followed accounts, urge all Pakistan fans to do the same. Let us do it for the boys in green.
 
Pakistan has fragile batting line up which can collapse anytime . Babar is needed at number 3 especially going into WC . Babar at 3 is perfect . Not a fan of babar but he is the best number 3 .

A well deserved comeback. Now we need Rizwan back in the team, it doesn't matter what position he bats. He is the best wicket keeper batter in Pakistan across all formats.
 
He did well in this series.

It seems like the little break (away from the team) has been beneficial for him.

He looked much sharper compared to 1 year ago.

Babar has shown why he should be in the team... It was a low-scoring chase but if he was not there, this batting would have collapsed... we were already 6 down when the game finished.

Babar looked quite good with his shot selection and was playing shots on merit.
 
This should provide him the momentum he needed to make a comeback.

Honestly, seeing the state of Pak t20 cricket, they can benefit from Babars 40 ball 55.

Scores and SR are always good or bad depending on pitch and match conditions.
India would have loved a 40 ball fifty in the second T20 vs Australia. It's also a 41-ball fifty that helped you win the asia cup final and it was a tremendous knock (at least I rated it quite highly) when those who hit 20-balls fifties where already seating back in the pavillion.

We aimed to take it till around 40–45 runs, because you know, due to the dew factor, the ball starts coming on nicely and the field opens up. Pakistan genuinely requires Azams 40 ball 55.

Even Rizwan should make a comeback and replace Agha.

And this is why he will always be a minnow/ timid player. I mean you score a 50 after I dont know how many failures, and even a 50 at HOME vs an average attack at best and look at his reaction.

Nothing will change, come the big games, come the real genuine world class player he will fail as usual.
 
Decent innings but feel like Pakistan is just back to square one.

Babar fans have now something to cheer for as their beloved is back into form.

Babar detractors will still have the point that he was always scoring big against B,C and weaker team with average strike rate and this is more of the same.

So nothing has been decided one way or the other. Let's see if this 2.0 Babar has an extra hear to prove his detractors wrong.
 
Pakistan fans are happy to lose against Bangladesh but if Babar scores against SA albeit their B/C attack they start crying. Many of these bowlers also played against India. It's as if Babar has not scored runs against Rabada or Mahraj.

Dethroned where? Lol. Rohit has won two T20 World Cups, while your heroes couldn’t even win an Asia Cup.
