This is why i am saying india should take a stand:
NO REMOVAL OF INSIGNIA OR NO PLAY!
Why not walk the talk?
Last i heard India was also going to boycott match against Pakistan in WC

Bhai i am a pakistani fan, im just hoping india take a stand because it may be the only way to stop india from winning the WC!When was the last time we actually walk the talk? All these empty threats and we are still going to play against Pakistan. BCCI will once again listen to its daddy ICC and follow the rules.![]()
If that logo is not very common or prominent, I will not have an issue with it. Let's be honest here - you and most others here had zero clue of the fact that Dhoni was sporting an Indian army symbol on his gloves. Most of us didn't even notice it, and those who somehow managed to see the symbol didn't think that it was in anyway related to the Indian military. A complete non-issue in my opinion.
The Christian population of Palestine is only about 5% - it is predominantly a Muslim vs Jew issue.
The only reason why the vast majority of Muslims care for what is happening in Palestine is because the oppressed party are Muslims. Unfortunately for most of us, humanity starts and ends with the Muslim ummah. Someone like Moeen would never wear an armband to show solidarity for the minorities who are butchered Pakistan, or show support for the persecution of Christians in various Arab countries.
In Sept 2013, a church in Peshawar was attacked by suicide bombers and over 120 Christians were martyred. It is the deadliest attack on Christians in history of Pakistan. In July 2014, Moeen Ali was seen sport a "Save Gaza" bracelet - if he really cared for humanity, why didn't he also wear a "Save Pakistani Christians" bracelet?
The notion that Palestine is a humanitarian issue rather than a religious one is a disingenuous position. The major reason why most Muslims care about Palestine is because they are Muslims.
I don’t ‘worship’ cricketers . Therefore I find it fine to criticise them if it’s valid . Nobody is above the law outside of the Bollywood world.
If it is war ICC seeks it is war ICC shall get.
Dhoni should now proudly weild his gloves.
We are with you bro.
To hell with ICC and Pakistan lobby.

BCCI stands with Dhoni. CoA chief Vinod Rai says, “ICC must allow Dhoni to keep wearing same gloves.”
Now this is epic battel outside ground .
Hopefully he wouldn't be required to bat.
ICC should now be prepared for a broken jaw.
You made this personal.
You tried to hit us where it hurts fhe most.
Now be prepared as we unleash hell on you.

If its a religious issue then why do non-muslims support Palestine?
Agree with this. Grandpa, of late has shown these tendencies. Won't be surprised to see him joining BJP after his cricket career is over just like Gambhir did. There are healthy signs of it.In al seriousness, why has dhoni started this drama? As qn experienced former indian cqptain, he knows this will cause an issue, especially with passionate/over sensitive indians.
So whats hes motive/ulterior motive?
To deflect from his own performance?
Just a plain attention seeker?
To consolidate his position in the team, as he is old and no longer captain?
What?
Please dont be naive enough to say patriotism!
You must also support secret murders which no one notices and such cases which never come to the surface.
Whoopee Doo!Dhoni is Lieutenant Colonel in Indian army .
BCCI's COA Vinod Rai said he would request ICC to give permission to Dhoni to continue using the Balidan symbol Glove.
What if ICC dont agree?
Will BCCI walk the talk and boycott?
What if ICC agree?
Will PCB (and Pak govt.) keep quiet? Pakistani Minister has already put his views clear on twitter.
Symbolically it would look bad - Pakistani batsman batting and on their back-ends within short distance an Indian paramilitary Dagger insignia.
This issue has all the making of a serious escalation
Hope better sense prevail and some sort of understanding happens and we fans got to see the cricket in peace.
Even ECB justified Moeen wearing wrist bands as according to ECB this was for a humanitarian cause.
Stop lying.
If Sarfraz or any member of team Pakistan were to wear armed force symbol not visible to naked eyes then you would have wasted words and bandwidth on word salad hoping that typing extensively and forcefully would slit your wrist.
Lol
Exactly. ICC requested it politely they didn't ban him.![]()
So whatever happened to the Asian bloc brotherhood, freelance bhai?
Why are some indian players and some indian fans determined to politicise and ruin this wc?
This is a global sporting event not the un security council.
Very few non asians i know watch cricket in the uk, but the ones who do, cant understand why india and pak cricket team/ board behave so childishly.
To be honest, neither do i!
Let's see what happens when Fakhar Zaman does the same with a Pakistan Navy Insignia on the back of his Bat, right in the face of Dhoni.
This will test the BCCI pandering ICC.

The non-Muslims who show solidarity with Palestine as well as the Muslims who express their concern for the oppression of the minorities are true humanitarians.
Unfortunately, most people are not, whether they are Muslims or non-Muslims. That is why most non-Muslims turn a blind eye towards Palestine and why most Muslims turn a blind eye towards the oppression of minorities.
One of my closest friends is a Pakistani Christian and guess what I also happen to be a vocal critic of how minorities are treated in Pakistan, not just with him but also with Muslims as well, so please don’t tar everyone with the same brush, as if every Muslim out there only cares about their own. You’ve obviously implied, I’m part of that crowd as well, so no offence you sound like a right-wing Islamaphobe.
I don’t blame Moeen Ali for promoting Gaza over other persecutions because of what the natives in the Palestinians have to had to endure for over 70 years. In the same period, name me a place on Earth where Muslims have invaded, killed and pillaged native non-Muslims and consequently kicked them out of their home land?
I know you’re in awe of Israel because how well it’s advanced in science and technology and they deserve the praise for their accomplishments, but a word of advice, don’t let it cloud your judgements, especially morally.
I'm not fussed about a little sticker on dhonis glove. I really dont mind it, no big deal. But dhoni knew that ICC will call him out on it and his fellow indians will get upset by this. What is Pakistan's issue with Indian team and what it does? Did Indians complain when pakistani cricketers supported their army? No.
Pakistanis are free to hate the Indian Army, but that doesnot mean Indian players wont support their army.
The point is you made an active claim that Palestine is a religious issue while now you are saying that it is possible that some people who support Palestine are humanitarians. Can you prove that Moeen didn't do it for humanitarian reasons and his motivation was only religious? Are there any statements from Moeen himself which prove your claim?
Can’t believe people are debating over this nothing issue. Pakistani fans want the ICC to ban or fine Dhoni, and Indian fans want the BCCI to use it’s power and influence to bend the rules.

So BCCI has officially refused to ask Dhoni to remove the insignia. They have engaged ICC in a discussion regarding this.

These are all tactics by Dhoni to portray himself as a real nationalist to all of India. After WC, i can see him joining politics aka BJP. These are just preparations for him. Even if he remove it now, he has already succeeded to woo the jingoists.

If he want to become a successful politician he has to start giving statements against Pakistan otherwise he will fail as a politician.![]()
He was using it in ipl.
He has flopped against every team he has played against during last year or so, he is so hopelessly past it that it isn't even funny, its tragic.Dhoni will flop against Pakistan In sha Allahand thanks for the jinx thread.

Is India vs Pakistan still happening?
Whatever happened to not playing with terrorist nation?)

In current 'nationalistic' climate of India, these gimmicks are norm.one should have some self-respect and don't do stupid and unwanted things like these.
If Dhoni is so much into military may be one more leg at the border will be a good idea.

The question is , whats dhoni's real motive behind this and like i said before, please dont be naive enough to say patriotism!
Dhoni has always struck me as someone who is very sly, unlike kohli who wears his heart on his sleeve and is honest. If kohli had done something like this, i can believe it would have been out of patriotism, but dhoni, na his a sly guy!
Yes i know he was made an honourary lieutenant colonel in the parachute regiment and had 2 weeks basic training.Dhoni was inducted into the Army and he trained with the paratroopers. He is now attached to the parachute regiment.
He has that insignia even on his phone and laptop.
Yes i know he was made an honourary lieutenant colonel in the parachute regiment and had 2 weeks basic training.
But whats with the badges/ stickers everwhere? I used to do the same as a kid but my stickers were of footballers.
I like Dhoni he is a good player, but after the humiliation of wearing military caps in the match and then getting mauled by Pakistani born Khwaja, one should have some self-respect and don't do stupid and unwanted things like these.
