Cricket may still be growing in the USA, but Major League Cricket (MLC) has already captured fans' hearts with its electrifying action. As Season 3 kicks off on June 13, defending champions Washington Freedom will take on the San Francisco Unicorns in a blockbuster opener—and Pakistani talent will be front and center!

Pakistani Players to Watch in MLC 2025:
While big names like Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi aren’t part of this edition, these Pakistani stars are set to make an impact:
  • Haris Rauf (San Francisco Unicorns) – The fiery pacer returns for his third season, aiming to bounce back after a tough 2024.
  • Hassan Khan (San Francisco Unicorns) – The spin all-rounder retained for his versatility.
  • Ehsan Adil (MI New York) – The pace bowler joins the defending champions’ squad.

San Francisco Unicorns just smashed 269/5 against Washington Freedom in game 1 of the MLC 2025.

Finn Allen smoked them for 19 sixes in his inning and scored 151 runs on just 51 balls.

Washington Freedom has started off well also, let's see

MLC is not a bad product. The match timings are a little inconvenient for people living in this part of the world, but the quality of cricket is good. It's interesting seeing IPL players and PSL players playing in the same team. Feels like a crossover season of two different shows.

I looked at a couple of teams and they are solid. Too many really good overseas players playing the league.

Hassan Khan delivered a game-changing cameo, smashing 43 off just 17 balls at a blistering strike rate of 252.94, steering San Francisco Unicorns to a last-over victory against MI New York in a tense MLC clash.

He was my absolute favorite up and coming youngster as he was a complete package which included his ground fielding. Good to see him do well for himself in USA & hopefully soon he can represent them at the international level.

U only need to make a team and forget till the test ends. So no frequent changes my friend
The interest level just isn't there from my side for bilateral series. I prefer to play when leagues like MLC are going on.

If u mean Major league cricket then we are not playing as the matches will be played late night
You can just make changes beforehand. In every match except 2, I have selected my team without knowing the playing XI or who won the toss and I'm still No. 3 overall.

Seattle Orcas Announce Mid-Season Leadership Changes to Reignite Season 3 Campaign

The Seattle Orcas have announced strategic mid-season leadership changes aimed at rejuvenating their Major League Cricket (MLC) Season 3 campaign following a tough 0-5 start.

In a major move, the franchise has parted ways with Head Coach Matthew Mott, citing differences in coaching and management strategies. The Orcas thank Mott for his contributions and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.

Further, Heinrich Klaasen has decided to step down from his role as Captain to focus fully on his responsibilities as a batter. Klaasen's commitment to performance and team success remains unwavering, and he remains an integral part of the leadership group.

Taking over the captaincy is seasoned international all-rounder Sikandar Raza,
whose extensive international experience and cricketing intelligence position him to lead the squad through the remainder of the season.

“This is a moment of reflection and renewal for the Seattle Orcas,” said Hemant Dua, CEO of the Seattle Orcas. “This has been a tough run for the team, and with it, some difficult decisions had to be made. We are grateful to Matthew for his commitment and professionalism during his time with us, and we wish him the very best in his future endeavors. We respect Heinrich’s decision to step down voluntarily as captain to focus on his batting. This reflects his character and team-first mindset. Sikandar was our unanimous choice once we heard from Klassen about his decision. We believe these changes set the stage for a strong second half of the season.”

The Seattle Orcas remain committed to delivering exciting, competitive cricket to fans while building a sustainable legacy in the MLC. These changes reflect a bold, proactive approach to turning the season around, anchored in unity, adaptability, and performance.

MI New York Clinch Second MLC Title in Thrilling Five-Run Win Over Washington Freedom

MI New York held their nerve in a nail-biting finish to edge past Washington Freedom by five runs and secure its second Major League Cricket (MLC) title at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas, on July 14, 2025.

After being sent in to bat, MI New York built a solid platform through a brisk opening partnership between Monank Patel (28 off 22) and Quinton de Kock, who starred with a fluent 77 off just 46 balls. Cameos from Tajinder Singh (14 off 9) and skipper Nicholas Pooran (21 off 16) lifted the total to a competitive 180. Washington’s bowling was led by Lockie Ferguson, who claimed three wickets, while Netravalkar, Maxwell, Edwards, and Holland each took one.

In reply, Washington Freedom stumbled early, losing both openers — Mitchell Owen and Andries Gous — for ducks. Rachin Ravindra revived the chase with a brilliant 70 off 41, and Glenn Phillips anchored the innings with an unbeaten 48 off 34. With 12 needed off the final over, the match swung decisively when Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for 15, allowing MI New York to seal a dramatic win and lift the trophy once again.
