[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Indian Politics - News & Updates Thread

As for voters, they have been hoodwinked by feku of ache din! They are helpless to vote for anyone else.

As ever, succinct and too the point.

The issue is the mainstream media is all in pocket of BJP, so the masses will never hear the truth.

After the electoral bonds becoming public information it’s clear to anyone with more than single digit IQ that BJP is just as corrupt as congress, if not more.

However, the andhbhakts and IT cell trolls will continue to fight the online battle against anyone posting the truth.

Whereas on the other hand, the mainstream media will continue to hide the truth and continue with their Modi Bhakti, anti Pakistan, Hindu-Muslim, Nehru-Gandhi villain, random jihads etc propagandas which the masses seem to love just like Ekta Kapoor soaps.

The reality is India is just a couple of steps away from being an authoritarian regime.
Today a lot of people think it doesn’t affect them, few years down the line when it will affect them there won’t be anyone left to fight/speak for them.

Have head from so many people, this may be our last elections. One Nation, One Election is a step in similar direction.

Don't agree. sanghis are thousand times more corrupt than Congress ever was. Just because pliant media doesn't publicize their corruption, doesn't mean they are less corrupt.

Modi won't spare any corrupt leader, will…': AAP's Sanjay Singh tears into BJP after walking out of jail

Shortly after walking out of Tihar jail on Wednesday evening, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh launched a blistering attack on the Narendra Modi government and said the BJP speaking against corruption is akin to Osama bin Laden preaching non-violence.

“I feel pity for the workers of the BJP. They got ready in Assam to target Himanta Biswa Sarma over the water scam, and distributed booklets for six months. What happened after that? PM Modi was hugging Himanta Biswa Sarma,” Singh said.

The AAP leader went on to name several leaders facing corruption charges who either joined the BJP or aligned with it, including NCP's Hasan Mushrif and Chhagan Bhujbal, former Maharashtra CM Ashok Chavan, and Suvendu Adhikari, the leader of opposition in West Bengal.

“He (Modi) says ‘will not spare any corrupt person, will induct each one of them (into the party)’,” the Rajya Sabha member added.

"I have a slogan for BJP- ‘Jo jitna bada bhrashtachari, woh utna bada padadhikari’ (More the corrupt, higher the position)."

Well said Sanjay Singh. Those who believe feku is not personally corrupt himself, are just gullible people.

Isn't it frustrating? I mean Indians used to be known for their intelligence but during last decade, one single person has plummeted entire nation's collective IQ down the drain which is a great shame.

Have head from so many people, this may be our last elections. One Nation, One Election is a step in similar direction.
While I dislike Modi for a bunch of things, this level of fearmongering helps nobody and only makes both sides more extreme.

What he's trying with Kejriwal is deplorable but is only a few degrees apart than what's standard in a bunch of states. As soon as the party in power switches, the opposition leader goes into jail. It was pretty regular in Tamil Nadu for a while.

So far he and the BJP have only stretched Indian democracy around the edges. And to their credit, have not tried to interfere with the integrity of the elections or the core of our democracy at all.

Also despite the pearl clutching by the international media and some rants by our neighbours on this forum, even the Hindutva stuff has been more bark than bite.

Isn't it frustrating? I mean Indians used to be known for their intelligence but during last decade, one single person has plummeted entire nation's collective IQ down the drain which is a great shame.

Modern day Indians were always more of followers than leaders who lacked critical thinking.

With a country of 1.5bl population you were bound to find exceptions to the above and those exceptions were projected as how Indians are instead of the reality of how majority of Indians lacked any form of critical thinking and were just mental slaves.

BJP just used the machinery and propaganda to turn the majority to their side.

It is what it is. If you feel frustrated I would recommend to stop watching news/stop talking about all of this. Or move to another country and actually enjoy a good healthy life.

Isn't it frustrating? I mean Indians used to be known for their intelligence but during last decade, one single person has plummeted entire nation's collective IQ down the drain which is a great shame.

I used to feel frustrated as well, even before the BJP time when I could not understand why people vote for parties like BSP, SP, RJD, Akali etc in regional elections.
By the time BJP came to power I was immune to being feeling frustrated, I had already realised how dirty the whole politics is.
BJP has just taken it to another level.

Invest your time and money in understanding how politics can affect stock market and invest in good shares. For example, it’s common knowledge for many years that BJP and Adani are one of the same, but probably 99% of the people who knew this didn’t invest in Adani stocks, had they invested they could have made good money.

You can’t change the political system, but you can use your understanding of political system to make money and live a wealthy life.

I never said, I believed them too.

If elections don't happen what will feku do? Campaigning is his KRA.

You can't be serious if you really believe what you wrote!

How can you compare what has been happening at TN level to what is happening with most opposition ruled states! How can you compare with what a CM has been doing till date in TN as to what feku has been doing at national level!

And big lol at that comment about Indian democracy.

Indeed. I believe the principle of karma. Hope it catches up soon.

Gourav Vallabh, Bihar unit ex-chief slam 'anti-Sanatan' Cong, join BJP

Gourav Vallabh joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday hours after he quit the Congress, saying he can neither raise anti-Sanatan slogans nor abuse "wealth creators" day in and day out and was joining the ruling party due to his support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's agenda of "Viksit Bharat".

Vallabh, seen as an articulate Congress spokesperson, earlier shared his resignation letter written to Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on social media platform X.

He said he was not feeling comfortable with the directionless way the party was moving.

Vallabh said, "I can neither raise anti-Sanatan slogans nor abuse wealth creators day in and day out. Therefore, I resign from all posts and primary membership of the party."

At the joining ceremony in the BJP, he hit out at the Congress over its economic policies. He said it ridicules the policies of reforms, liberalisation and globalisation pursued by former prime minister Manmohan Singh because of its dislike for Modi whom its leaders abuse all day.

"Wealth creating cannot be a crime in the country," he said.

Vallabh said he always pursued issues-based politics and was attracted to Modi's agenda of "viksit Bharat".

He said he always wanted the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and could not accept the Congress's decision to not go to the consecration ceremony.

"Congress leaders and allies raised questions on Sanatan Dharma but the party gave no response... A big gap has emerged in the party in its handling of different issues," he said.

He added, "We are all united by the ideology of taking India ahead. I am attracted to the idea of 'Viksit Bharat'."

lol, this is mother of all summersaults. This guy used to curse sanghis and feku like anything not so long ago. Now he is singing paeans of feku like all of his ilk.

Well done money and muscle power.

"Let Democracy Take Its Course": Plea To Remove Arvind Kejriwal Rejected

Arvind Kejriwal in jail: Last week the Delhi High Court's acting Chief Justice said the removal of a sitting Chief Minister - Arvind Kejriwal, in this case - fell outside the scope of judicial interference.

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has junked - for a third time - a plea seeking the removal of Arvind Kejriwal as Chief Minister after his arrest last month over corruption allegations. In a significant observation, a bench led by acting Chief Justice Manmohan said "let democracy take its own course".

The court - a different bench of which was expected to rule today on Mr Kejriwal's plea for interim relief in this matter - also refused to counsel Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena on forcing the Aam Aadmi Party leader to relinquish his post. "He (Mr Saxena) doesn't need our guidance. We are nobody to advise him. He will do whatever he has to, in accordance with the law," the High Court said.

The court was hearing a public interest litigation by the Hindu Sena, which sought direction to the Lieutenant Governor to direct Mr Kejriwal to resign. The petitioner was told to prioritise national interest over "personal issues" and, if it wanted to persist, to "raise this issue before another forum".

The court dismissed similar pleas last week and in January (weeks before Mr Kejriwal was arrested).

Last week the acting Chief Justice said the removal of a sitting Chief Minister is outside the scope of judicial interference. "It is for the other wings of the government to examine, in accordance with the law, this issue," the court said. And for the plea before that, a bench led by then Chief Justice Rajendra Menon made a firm statement, noting "prosecution is going on... he may be acquitted".

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested March 21 in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam that has roiled the AAP weeks before the election. The opposition has condemned the arrest of a sitting Chief Minister and other senior political leaders, including the Bharat Rashtra Samithi's K Kavitha.

Arguing for interim relief Wednesday, Mr Kejriwal's lawyer questioned the timing of the arrests.

"Why this urgency? I am not talking about politics... am talking about law," senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, arguing the arrest was meant to "demolish AAP before the first vote is cast".

Mr Kejriwal is the AAP's biggest public face and crowd-puller.

After hearing Mr Singhvi and the counter by the arresting agency (the Enforcement Directorate), the High Court reserved its verdict for this afternoon.

Mr Kejriwal is currently in Delhi's Tihar Jail; he has been remanded to judicial custody till April 15.

Alleged Delhi Liquor Policy Scam

The ED is investigating what it claims is an ₹ 600 crore scam involving the now-scrapped liquor excise policy for the national capital. The agency believes the profit margins were revised arbitrarily to cover bribes paid for the allotment of alcohol sales licences, and that this money - amounting to ₹ 45 crore at least - was used by the AAP to fund its Goa and Punjab election campaigns.

Will be fun imagining Gourav and Sambit Patra meeting under the same umbrella now. "How many zeros in 5 trillion" :dhoni

Lol every single corrupt politician joins the bjp and his sins get whitewashed, corruption doesn't matter to these guys if you join their team.

Indeed.

If there is an undercurrent against the regime, I'm yet to see it. So what you are saying, will sadly be true once again.

It was front page in today's Indian Express, so it's true.

This Modi is gonna have a difficult time winning, despite the extremely pro-BJP demographics of South Bangalore. It's also a BJP seat since '91. But the Congress candidate is a pretty good one. She was an MLA who was cheated out of her seat by Surya doing shady stuff for the BJP candidate late into the night. She eventually lost by less than 20 votes. So she's gonna give this idiot a hard time as a Lok Sabha candidate this time.

India's Congress pledges to step up affirmative action if voted back to power

India's opposition Congress party promised on Friday to lift a cap on affirmative action for marginalised castes if it wins power, although Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to sweep back into office in elections starting this month.

Congress, which had ruled India for more than 50 years with centre-left policies, has struggled in the past decade to compete with Modi's Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) that counts the country's Hindu majority as its main vote base.

The seven-phase election starts on April 19, with vote counting on June 4.

More help for so-called backward castes and the poor irrespective of caste were among Congress pledges in its election manifesto, including assured jobs for the young, guaranteed prices for farm produce and higher health insurance payouts.

"Congress has been the most vocal and active champion of the progress of the backward and oppressed classes and castes over the last seven decades," said the manifesto released by party president Mallikarjun Kharge, who himself is from one of India's most backward castes.

"However, caste discrimination is still a reality."

Kharge listed some of the key pledges with only a feeble response from party workers at a press conference, leading him to comment: "No claps, nothing!"

Many analysts say morale is low in Congress because of the BJP's dominance of the country's politics. An opinion poll released on Wednesday predicted Modi's National Democratic Alliance coalition could win 399 of the 543 seats in the lower house of parliament while the BJP alone is projected to win 342.

Congress could fall to 38 seats, a record low, it said.

Addressing a rally, BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda accused Congress of trying to divide communities in the name of caste and religion, adding that Modi instead worked on taking everyone along for the development of all.

"CLOSE ELECTION"

Former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi said the election is "much closer than being propagated".

"It's a close election and we are going to fight an excellent election and we are going to win the election," he said at the event.

Should it be voted back to power, Congress said it would conduct a socio-economic and caste census to "strengthen the agenda for affirmative action", guaranteeing a constitutional amendment to raise the 50% cap on reservations for backward castes in government jobs and education.

The party said such groups make up nearly 70% of India’s 1.42 billion people but "their representation in high-ranking professions, services and businesses is disproportionately low".

The caste system has set out hierarchies in the Hindu religion for thousands of years, but it has been countered by affirmative action policies in recent decades albeit with uneven effect.

Average monthly spending by marginalised castes from so-called scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward classes lagged privileged castes by 27% in rural and 30% in urban India in 2022/23, according to a government survey released last month.

That spending gap has narrowed over the last decade but much more slowly in India's distressed countryside where a majority of the population lives, according to a comparison with data from a similar 2011/12 survey.

A caste-based census last year by India's poorest and populous state, Bihar, underlined the skewed representation of marginalised castes in government jobs.

Its minority so-called upper castes hold nearly a third of valued government jobs, while 95% of the people are either self-employed or unemployed, according to the survey seen by Reuters.

Moreover, 88% of all poor families in Bihar, described as those earning up to $72 a month, are from marginalised castes.

The BJP has dismissed such surveys. Modi has said in rallies that India's downtrodden castes are the poor, youth, women and farmers, and that he was working tirelessly for them.

Robert Vadra expresses interest to contest from Gandhi bastion Amethi

Robert Vadra, husband of Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi, has shown interest in contesting the forthcoming polls from Amethi, the former bastion of the Gandhi family.

"If I would contest, I would prefer Amethi. My first step in politics should be Amethi," Vadra said on Thursday.
"Amethi wants a Gandhi family member," he added.

Meanwhile, Smriti Irani has been announced by the BJP as the party's nominee for the seat in the Lok Sabha elections of 2024. Irani pulled off a stunning upset in 2019 when she defeated Rahul Gandhi, the former president of the Congress, by a margin of roughly 55,000 votes.

Robert Vadra also took a dig at Irani and said that the people think they have made a mistake by electing her.

"The people of Amethi expect me to represent their constituency if I decide to become a member of Parliament. For years, the Gandhi family worked hard in Rae Bareli, Amethi and Sultanpur...The people of Amethi are really troubled by the current Member of Parliament, they think they have made a mistake by electing her," Vadra said.

The Congress has not yet announced who will challenge the Union Minister from Amethi. It is still hazy if Rahul Gandhi's will contest from here in the elections, while he has filed his nomination from Wayanad already.

In another media interview, the entrepreneur also said that it is the people who want him to step in to politics.

"People want me to step into politics. Whether it's the state elections or the central elections, they feel I need to enter politics. Being a member of the Gandhi family, it's very difficult to stay away from politics. There are demands coming from many places," Vadra said.

He further said, "People have seen my hard work, so wherever I go, people want me to represent them. My posters start appearing everywhere. Whenever I attend any political event, people from various parties say that I am delaying my entry into politics. They say that I should enter politics. They even say that if not from Congress, then join our party."

🤣 Oh my lord...

Sometimes I feel Congress actually trying to help BJP win.

Why in their right minds would the Gundi Family (even though corrupt to the core) ruin their chances even more by associating this clown Vadra with anything political...

I busted that favorite conspiracy theory of your ilk ( BJP IT Cell) a while ago... and as is the standard operating process of your types you bolted from that and will not touch that topic for obvious reasons ... but will still keep accusing those who do not agree to your views with such silly accusations ?

I mean do you really believe that 100s of millions of people are all stupid idiots to not see the supposedly glaring faults in Modi that only you can see?

The administration of the Union Territory of Ladakh has ordered the imposition of CrPC section 144 in Leh following a call for a people’s march towards the China border, scheduled to be held on April 7.

During his 21-day fast last month, climate activist Sonam Wangchuk had called for the people of Ladakh to join him on a border march for an “onground check” of the alleged encroachment of grazing land at the India-China border. “10,000 Ladakhis will march to the borders,” he said.

Explaining the reasons for the march, Wangchuk said, “On one hand, they (Ladakhis) are losing land to Indian corporates… roughly 150,000 square kilometres of prime pasture land. And on the other hand, they are losing pasture land to China, which is encroaching from the North and has captured huge chunks of Indian land in the last five years.”

Recurring theme with the BJP. First the Kashmiri Pandits turned on them and now Ladakhis. Why is this common with the use and throw policies of Modi. And at the first sign of dissent, throw the army or state machinery at people or institutions.

For those interested in films, activist Sonam Wangchuk was the inspiration for Aamir Khan's character in 3 Idiots.

@cricketjoshila @Rajdeep
Is this guy an antinational. Can't be right. I mean he is against China obviously, unlike Modi.

Must be a Congressi sickular then :dhoni

₹400 lakh cr m-cap! A new record on D-Street

Historic day on Dalal Street as the market capitalization of all listed firms on the BSE crossed Rs 400 lakh crore.

Finally, Nehru's vision and Italians' hard work paid off.:leo

Modi is not coming back to power. And he knows it. He sounds more and more like a desperate old man who knows the end is near. He's so pathetic now, he's even refused to campaign for Gadkari in Nagpur while conducting shows in adjoining constituencies :dhoni

It's possible that BJP might scrape together an alliance and throw money to form the government. But this is the end for Modi.

Now for the hot tears down those facelifted cheeks. Next stop - Jail for corruption.

He has always been that kinda guy, always filled with vindictiveness against people he doesn't like. This is a not a recent phenomenon. He has always been petty since the time he was a general secy in BJP.

He has more enemies in sanghi ranks than outside it.

Comparing Congress manifesto with that of Muslim league is so cringe and cheap but expected from feku.

Riposte from Congress was also swift and good. They've definitely improved their social media game.

This is from 2002,

“Some journalists asked me recently, ‘Has James Michael Lyngdoh come from Italy?’,” Modi ‘joked’, spelling out the CEC’s full name. “I said, I don’t have his janam patri, I will have to ask Rajiv Gandhi. Then the journalists said, ‘Do they (Lyngdoh and Sonia) meet in church?’ I replied, ‘Maybe they do’.”

For uninitiated, Rajiv Gandhi, India's former PM was dead for 11 years in 2002. That's how pathetic this feku creature has always been.

If only Vajpayee had guts at that time! We'd have probably been saved from curse of this creature!

Yes true and our glorious 5 year old Puppu would have been in charge of India today instead.

What a sight that wouldve been to see..

If that is the case then why are Modi's opponents hyperventilating and spilling vitriol against him on every social media platform and public forum? They should be relaxed in their knowledge that Modi is going to lose. Why all the drama?

In a bye-election in December 2022, necessitated by Azam Khan’s disqualification from the Assembly, the Bharatiya Janata Party wrested its first-ever victory here, amid widespread allegations that Muslim voters had been denied a chance to vote – allegations denied by the state government and by the Election Commission.

But booth-level data, as reported by the Indian Express, was revelatory: in Muslim areas, voter turnout in some booths plunged to a low of 4%-5%, while it was as high as 80% in booths in Hindu areas.

A year and a half later, Muslim voters still vividly recall how the police blocked their paths to the polling booth, spreading dehshat, or terror.

“It seemed like there was a curfew,” said a handicrafts entrepreneur. “There were police everywhere, as if this was Jammu and Kashmir, or a Naxal area.”

“If you were in a burqa, the police would stop you repeatedly,” his wife recalled. “Show your fingers, they would say, using abusive language, hitting their batons on the ground in a threatening way.” While she managed to cast her vote, her sister-in-law scurried back in fear. So did an elderly neighbour, who was hit on the legs by police batons.

Even fruit vendor Nasir Ali’s enthusiasm for the Supreme Court order stems from his experience in the 2022 bye-poll. “My family has 10 votes. Seven were not on the list,” he said, reeling off the missing names. “The remaining three were in three different booths.” While he and his son managed to find their booths and cast their votes, his wife returned home unsuccessful.

Similar complaints about the deletion of Muslim names from voter lists echoed across other constituencies.

In Galshaheed locality in Moradabad, Mumtaz Jahan last voted in 2012. “I was a young bride then,” said the former teacher, who taught in schools run by the National Child Labour Project for 12 years.

“Ever since Modi-Yogi came to power, my vote has been missing,” she said, referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Adityanath, both from the BJP.

She said she had combed through voter lists, petitioned every possible government office, pleaded with Booth Level Officers, and yet hadn’t been able to vote. “This is the case in every home here,” she said. “Votes are missing from lists.”

He showed me stacks of papers printed with booth-level voter lists – each page featured crosses marked in pencil against some entries. The chairperson, who requested anonymity, said that in the months leading to the civic election he contested last year, he and his team did an exhaustive verification of voter lists in their town. They found about 2,500 names were bogus. They filed complaints and managed to get 1,700 names deleted.

“The total electorate in the town is about 45,000, and of this, about 25,000 vote,” he said. “The bogus names accounted for 10%, enough to swing an election.”

In the 2022 assembly election, the Samajwadi Party candidate in Dhampur had lost the election to the BJP candidate by merely 203 votes, just 0.1% of the vote share. The same wafer-thin margin resulted in a BJP victory in nearby Chandpur. In neighbouring Nehtaur, the BJP’s winning margin was 0.13%, and in Moradabad city, it was 0.24%.

Even though I don't doubt EVMs but what's being mentioned otherwise regarding voting percentage in last few elections is very revealing. No wonder, feku and bisht have been winning elections in UP left, right and center even in constituencies where there is Muslim majority.

feku has institutionalized the corruption in India. No walk of life in India is untouched by the corruption unleashed by him.

on one hand congress party said in press conference that they don’t have any money for election as IT authorities frizzed their bank account, even they don’t have a money to pay travelling expenses of candidates…. On the other hand congress party’s election campaign ads are running uninterrupted almost on every Indian TV channel… what a hipocrasy, from where the money comes from, ED must probe

Probably from the Chinese or from all the billions the Italian Ammayi & Vadra stashed away in their swiss bank accounts during their corrupt rule..
Wonder why the Gandhis are spending all those ill-gotten gains on an election that they are most likely to lose?
If their political sense is bad, their financial wisdom seems even worse.
They should quit politics, move away from India and enjoy their money in some exotic island for the rest of their lives.

They just want to remain in some way, shape or form, their ego won't allow them to just walk way despite knowing they will suffer ongoing humiliations.

Puppu has leisure holidays, he is enjoying life, spending money for endings that are happy in Thailand.

If that is the case then why are Modi's opponents hyperventilating and spilling vitriol against him on every social media platform and public forum? They should be relaxed in their knowledge that Modi is going to lose. Why all the drama?
You are turning around the more relevant question.

But it's not surprising because Modi's 10 years have seen this basic principle being turned on its head. Questions are asked not of those in power, but to those without it.

So the real question that should be asked is the opposite of what you just did - why is Modi who talks of 400 seats :ROFLMAO: so desperate now. Why have two sitting CMs been jailed - unprecedented in Indian history. And don't come with your corruption nonsense because if you don't get your news only from Whatsapp you will know the main person accusing Kejriwal has been exposed as having made an electoral bond donation to the BJP after his son was jailed and that's also when he changed his testimony from visiting Kejriwal for a social cause to something more sinister.

Why are the BJP buying or using force to bring leaders from other parties into their fold?

Why are dumb cases and fines from decades back being used to freeze the Congress party's funds?

Why is old man Modi breathlessly touring the country for votes. Poor fellow looks on the brink of a collapse.

But most importantly, why does teleprompter Modi's voice quiver and break regularly? Why so much fear in his voice. Why the endless goofups in speeches despite the aid of TWO teleprompters?

Good post.

If there is such a thing as Karma, Modi should resoundingly lose this election for the pure evil he has inflicted on india's political system and the numerous institutions that he has corrupted. But I doubt it.

Let us wait and see.

There is a thing called Karma.

The Karmic affect from all the wrongs, and dumb things Congress has done since 1947 is PM Modi..

Now sit back and watch those karmic debts that will have to be paid back....

Your Italian party will end after PM wins again

Modi is not coming back. There is a reason he has been trying to sideline Gadkari for ages now and why he refuses to campaign for Gadkari in Nagpur. He knows that the BJP are not going to get those magical 300 numbers. Then it's down to whether they can scrape through or have to throw money around to buy some support. In this situation, Modi is out and Gadkari who has the RSS' blessings comes in. He even has Adityanath's support (I personally don't like this Bisht guy) and plenty more powerful BJP leaders who can't stand Modi.

I've said this before here many times - despite the bitter experience over the last 10 years, if Modi-Shah-Yogi are out, I might consider voting once again for the BJP under a Gadkari. He is RSS, but not communal. He has oldschool vibes that hark back to a Vajpayee (as PM) and is also the only competent person with power in the current BJP setup.

As for Karma, bro, there is a reason the wheel has been so big in this culture. It always turns. Some NRI 🤡s who drive a taxi all day try to mock this line because their interpretation of the wheel turning is something else lol. But it's fact.

The wheel always turns. And it's time to run full circle.

What is the single most EVIL thing that Modi is responsible for in the last 10 yrs and what are the casualty figures due to that?

I have asked this many times in the past but never got a single response from anyone. Maybe today is the day

Questions should rightfully be asked to everyone, but that is not the point.

The point is that it is the Congress that wants to win this election by dethroning Modi and the BJP. So it is up to them to convince the Indian electorate that they are a viable alternative. For this, they need to provide evidence for all the BJP's alleged wrong doings, and send a clear message to the Indian voter that it is the Congress that deserves their vote.
Are they doing that? Not from what I can see.

The Congress should take a leaf out of what the pro-BJP media did in the run up to the 2014 election. They exposed all of the UPA's hidden scams one after another, and projected Modi as a powerful leader who would deliver the goods. What happened next is there for all to see.

And what is the left-liberal pro-Congress media doing now? They keep harping about the government buying the media, dictatorship, democracy in danger yada yada yada, most of which the Congress too have been guilty of the years they were in power. And they keep abusing and insulting Modi instead of exposing his alleged corruption and misrule in front of the electorate. All this will get them nothing. Everyone can see through personal insults and most people don't seem to be seeing Rahul Gandhi as a messiah who will deliver the goods for them.

All the MLA buying, CM jailing, broken teleprompters etc only seem to be making Modi even more popular than ever.

To beat the BJP, the Congress leadership has to outwit and out-think Modi, Amit Shah and gang. I don't see them doing that. At least, not with Rahul Gandhi at the helm.

If you ever wonder how the bhakts don't see the absurdities in their own posts, just remember, they've learnt from the best :dhoni

Hitting out at the INDIA bloc parties, Amit Shah said these all parties are only focused on taking care of their children’s future and have no time for shaping the future of country deprived, poor and backward sections.

Accusing the Opposition INDIA bloc to be a ‘jamghat’ (gathering of corrupt parties and leaders), Union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday said that scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore happened during the 10 years of UPA regime in the country.

“Those who indulged in scams and corruption are now going to jail. Members of the Ghamandiya Gathbandhan (INDIA bloc) are beating their chests. We will ensure that each and every penny of the money meant for poor, Dalits, tribals and backward sections is returned to the poor and the deprived, and every person who siphoned that money is put behind the bars,” Shah said at two poll rallies in Madhya Pradesh.

Shah first addressed a rally in support of sixth-time sitting MP and Union minister Faggan Singh Kulaste in Mandla-ST seat and then addressed another in support of the sitting MP in Khajuraho constituency and state BJP chief VD Sharma.

Shah said the total aid granted by the UPA government to Madhya Pradesh in its 10 years was Rs 1.99 lakh crore. On the contrary, the Modi regime granted budgetary aid totaling Rs 7.74 crore in 10 years, four times more than the UPA, he said.
Hitting out at the INDIA bloc parties, Shah said these all parties are only focused on taking care of their children’s future and have no time for shaping the future of country deprived, poor and backward sections.

Knowing well that other backward castes (OBCs) hold key to BJP’s poll prospects in MP, Shah said it will be the OBCs whose interests will be damaged the most if the Ghamandiya Gathbandhan (INDIA bloc) got voted to power in the country.

lol, pretty rich coming from motabhai.

Also, sanghis should be the absolutely last ones in this universe to bash dynasty politics.

Within minutes we, Members of Parliament, current and former, were dragged, roughed up, and bundled into a waiting police bus. No request. No conversation. No engagement with peaceful protestors. Just the immediate use of brute force.

The 10 of us were told we were being taken to the Mandir Marg Police Station — which is less than 10 minutes away from the EC office. After reaching the main gate of Mandir Marg Police Station, the police did not take us inside. Instead, the bus started again and we were told that we were now being taken to Connaught Place. After about 20 minutes on the moving bus, one of my colleagues, Vivek Gupta, MLA, familiar with Delhi roads, looked outside and alerted us that the route being taken was definitely not the one to Connaught Place.

When we questioned the police constables inside the bus, we were told that they were taking us to “Jaffarpur”, which they said was “only about 30 minutes away”. We checked Google Maps which told us that the place they were taking us to was in fact about two hours away!

What was going on here? Was a delegation of MPs and former MPs literally being taken for a ride by law enforcement? Illegally being moved to an unknown location? Why was no information given? This unlawful detention went on for over an hour.

Under Section 50(1) of the CrPC, anyone being arrested needs to be immediately informed about the grounds for their arrest. None of us were even once informed during these 90 minutes. Also, the law requires that a detained or arrested person be taken to the police station closest to where the alleged offence occurred. Forget the nearest police station, we weren’t even told where specifically we were being taken even after we learnt that it was someplace about two hours away.

Saket is quite a pundit on all this. Tough nut. He had spent 151 days in Ahmedabad Central Jail last year, on a trumped-up charge in a money laundering case. He was also arrested by the Gujarat Police four times in 15 days and is an authority on what being taken into custody entails. When the police were taking us to some unknown place, Saket demanded that we either be taken to Mandir Marg Police Station or be produced before a magistrate immediately.

Very quickly, the bus was stopped.

The junior policemen worked their mobile phones. The seniors arrived on the spot. Their bluff had been called. We headed back to Mandir Marg Police Station where we were with the Delhi Police for 24 hours.

This is happening in Central Delhi with elected MPs and MLAs! Imagine the plight of common man if he dares to oppose feku and his minions in any shape and form.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk to visit India this month, meet PM Modi; likely to unveil investment plans

New Delhi, April 10

American electric car maker Tesla CEO Elon Musk is visiting India later this month to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and is likely to announce the company’s investment plans in the country, according to sources.

Musk, who has described as a ‘natural progression’ to provide Tesla electric vehicles in India, is likely to be accompanied by other company executives during the visit that is expected in the week of April 22, a source said.

An e-mail query sent to Tesla to confirm Musk’s visit remained unanswered.

In June last year, Musk met Modi during the latter’s US visit and stated that he planned to visit India in 2024 while expressing confidence that Tesla would enter the Indian market soon.

His upcoming visit to India comes weeks after the government announced a new electric vehicle policy under which import duty concessions will be given to companies setting up manufacturing units in the country with a minimum investment of USD 500 million, a move aimed at attracting major global players like Tesla.

As per the policy, the companies that would set up manufacturing facilities for EV passenger cars will be allowed to import a limited number of cars at lower customs /import duty of 15 per cent on vehicles costing USD 35,000 and above for a period of five years from the date of issuance of the approval letter by the government.

At present, cars imported as completely built units (CBUs) attract customs duty ranging from 70 per cent to 100 per cent, depending on engine size and cost, insurance and freight (CIF) value less or above USD 40,000.

The policy seeks to promote India as a manufacturing destination for EVs and attract investment from reputed global EV manufacturers.

Last year, Tesla approached the Indian government seeking duty cuts to import its vehicles in India.

Previously in 2022, Musk had said that Tesla, which was earlier seeking a reduction in import duties to sell its vehicles in India, would not manufacture its products unless it is allowed to first sell and service its cars in the country.

In August 2021, Musk said that Tesla may set up a manufacturing unit in India if it first succeeds with imported vehicles in the country. He had said Tesla wanted to launch its vehicles in India “but import duties are the highest in the world by far of any large country!”

This is huge, if Elon Musk does announce that Tesla vehicles will be manufactured in India during his visit..
