Naveen Jindal, kingpin of Coal scam during UPA regime as alleged by sanghis.

He leaves Congress and enters into sanghi fold.

Coal scam, no problem. He'll now be washed by giant sanghi washing machine .

Lol, he has now been fielded from Kurukshetra LS seat in Haryana.

Well done, feku aka hypocrite.
Is kaam ke liye hi to hai ED

It's interesting how many corrupt politicians leave the Congress and join the BJP and then everything is forgotten

But then why do these corrupt politicians stay in the congress for so long

Jindal had become politically irrelevant in Congress during last decade post his loss in 2014 LS elections from Kurukshetra. Congress won't miss him politically but surely as someone who could have donated into party funds being chairman of Jindal Steel & Power.

Also, they stay in Congress for so long despite getting irrelevant as sanghis wait for their corruption cases to go cold in public eye. Once that is achieved, there is no hitch in them riding the saffron bandwagon and netting plum positions.

What does it say about congress? That they keep its members even when they have corruption cases and wake up to them only when they leave the membership?

It's a pity that Indian politics is so intensely corrupt. Both ruling party and opposition are so filled with openly corrupt individuals that it's only possible to think in terms of strategy in these anti-corruption Enforcement Directorate cases.

Not even the most naive voter thinks in terms of tightness or wrongness of these cases anymore. We start on the premise that every politician is corrupt and then discuss whether the BJP played the right chess move by putting Kejriwal in prison before the elections or whether Kejriwal was cunning in getting arrested to get martyr status.

Corruption is not the main problem. It will improve and has improved with time. Higher level corruption will remain though.

The main problems are so big that corruption looks acceptable in front if it. But sickulars will rather not acknowledge it.

Agreed...it's only in countries like Pakistan that aren't quite used to democracy that they still innocently believe Nawaz Sharif is corrupt but Imran Khan isn't etc. Us Indians have gotten more cynical and know that Rahul is corrupt and Modi is corrupt and Amit Shah is corrupt and Kejriwal is corrupt so for now, let's just focus on who can provide better governance and growth. That's what most people indirectly vote on of course setting aside emotional issues like caste, community, religion.

Eventually the corruption will become more sophisticated and less brazen. In the States for example, you have to register as a corruption agent...sorry lobbyist or can contribute money openly to a PAC and pretend you're not doing any favours for the politician who the PAC is names after.

Which corruption charge on BJP?

Which corruption charge on BJP?
The ED wouldn't dare lay a charge. However, if you genuinely believe "Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd" donated 80 effing million dollars to the BJP through the goodness of their heart and because they wanted to contribute to the country and it's glorious leader, I've got a large building in Agra I really want to sell to you. It's in excellent condition, a little old but well maintained and built with the finest marble. I promise I'll make you an unbeatable deal.

Before you jump on me, I'm aware they spread some birdseed around to the opposition parties in the southern states as well and I don't think they did that out to promote your hated secularism in India either.

You didn't answer my question - which corruption BJP has been involved in last 10 years of Modi govt. Don't go round and round, answer this straight question.

ED wouldnt dare to lay a charge and all is ad hominem arguement. Tell me the charge on which ED will catch BJP leaders.

No, Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd didnt donate the money out of good heart. They bought electoral bonds bcoz they were awarded 14,400 crore of tunnel project in Mumbai.

Electoral bond in 2024 is what Rafael was in 2019. A political propaganda by opposition without a single corruption angle from BJP.

Modi's govt is a cleanslate for last 10 years with not even 1 rupee corruption charge.

Great. So you're saying that the Company won on pure merit a

- a 4,500 Crore Contract to construct the Zojila tunnel and immediately within a month in an unrelated development anonymously donated 20 Crore to the BJP
- a 3,700 Crore Contract to construct the Bullet train station in BKC and immediately within a month in an unrelated development anonymously donated 140 Crore to the BJP

and so on. And you'll only believe there was corruption involved if the government's own pet dog - the ED turns around and lays a charge against the BJP. To answer your question then, yes the BJP is only party in India which is spotlessly clean and politicians like Hemanta Biswa, Eknath Shinde and Naveen Jindal are instantly cleansed and disavow any corruption as soon as they switch.

By the way they also a 4,500 Crore Contract to construct the Polavaram Dam in AP and in an unrelated development anonymously donated 37 Crore to the YSR Congress.

On a totally separate note, I know you'll love that gorgeous building you're going to buy in Agra but could I also interest you in a lovely decorative arch in Mumbai. It's slightly worn but still great value. You won't regret this deal.

Kejriwal matters zilch in Indian politics. He is simply hyped up by Delhiites and a few other north Indians as a 'great leader'. Most other state leaders like Stalin, Mamta, Akhilesh Yadav, KCR etc have more clout and are politically stronger than him.
Kejri's arrest may get him some sympathy among the Lutyens leftist mafia but in the overall political scenario it matters nada. It's not any big 'chess move' as the BJP certainly couldn't care less for Kejri. The ED possibly have solid evidence against him that will stand up in a court of law and hence the arrest.

If the BJP wanted a 'chess move' and didn't really care for India's democracy, then they would have done something big - like dismissing Mamta's elected govt in WB, for example. There has been a lot of demand for that, mainly by the WB state BJP members but yet the 'dictator' Modi has not done it.

It is hilarious to see the loser leftists and their 'friends' in the media, both Indian and foreign, hyping up and stirring all over cyberspace. They all know that nothing can touch Modi.

I hope to god once BJP clears majority in Parliament this year, that wicked witch Mamata ammayi is taken out for good... Whatever BJP has to do, enforce President's rule in Bengal, grab her by the collar and throw her into Tihar jail....

You're right the BJP's been pretty smart with it's chess moves in the buildup to this election - the alliance with Nitish, the arrest of KCR's daughter to put pressure on him, the moves in Maharashtra on Shinde and Ajit Pawar which have left the opposition devastated etc. So the move on Kejriwal is a little difficult to decipher. They can't seriously hope to put enough pressure on him to ally with them and he wouldn't be reliable anyway. On the other hand, his arrest isn't going to either improve his prospects in the Lok Sabha election or diminish the likelihood of the massive majority he's going to get in the State election. Maybe it's 3D chess we don't understand.

Also I wouldn't dismiss Kejriwal that easily. While he's no national leader despite his posturing, between Delhi and Punjab, he's about as relevant as any of the regional satraps - the likes of Mamata, KCR, Stalin etc. I wouldn't put Akhilesh in the same bracket.

The idea that the ED has acted independently though is a little laughable to me. I doubt they even remove their finger from the their nose without permission from the appropriate minister.

Most British media outlets hire the worst card-carrying communists and leftists as India correspondents. They always show India in a bad light. Amrit Dhillon and other like him will only write what his British bosses want to read.
This has been the case for decades and had annoyed even the leftist PM Jawaharlal Nehru. He held a luncheon for editors of major British newspapers during his first state visit to England, and the first question he asked them was this.

That article I linked was from the Times, it's right wing and anti-communist so very far from what you are trying to imply. What reason has Britain got to hate India for goodness sake? Dear me, and you guys accuse Pakistanis of suffering from conspiracy theories. :troll

Why do some many pakistanis think that America and the West hate them, they would have even less reasons to hate Pakistan

These all are feku's blind bhakts.

Don't say feku is remotely corrupt.

Whether left or right wing, all sections of the British media have been biased against India, and it is also not something new. It has been happening for decades and even India's 'leftist' PM Nehru complained about it.
Don't ask me about the reasons. Perhaps they are still hung over about losing their richest colony?

The British media probably forgot about Empire decades ago. It's been that long it won't be relevant to news editors these days, this is just paranoia on your part if you think modern Brits still hold onto thoughts about an empire which crumbled almost a century ago. All the people who might have wistful thoughts about it are dead and long gone.

Americans and the west don't hate Pakistan, it's a running joke that most Americans thought Pakistan was a middle eastern country.

Govt. can’t solve all social, economic problems such as unemployment: CEA

Asserting that it was incorrect to think that government intervention could solve every social and economic challenge, Chief Economic Advisor V. Anantha Nageswaran on March 27 contended that a diagnosis was easier than the solution when it concerned problems like unemployment

Speaking at the unveiling of the “India Employment Report 2024: Youth Employment, Education and Skills” co-authored by the International Labour Organisation and The Institute for Human Development (IHD), Mr. Nageswaran wondered what the government could do on the employment front “short of hiring more itself”.

Lol, clowns masquerading as government led by feku in chief.

So after destroying India and its economy during last decade, the clowns are finally admitting governance is not their cup of tea.

And then feku and his chums shout viksit Bharat.

India summons US diplomat over Kejriwal comments

India's Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that it had summoned a US diplomat to protest Washington's remarks on the arrest of a senior opposition politician.

It came two days after the US had said it was closely following the situtation and that it encouraged a "fair, transparent and timely legal process" in the case.

On Wednesday, local broadcasters showed the senior US diplomat Gloria Berbena entering the Foreign Ministry.

"India's legal processes are based on an independent judiciary which is committed to objective and timely outcomes. Casting aspersions on that is unwarranted," the Foreign Ministry said.

"In diplomacy, states are expected to be respectful of the sovereignty and internal affairs of others," the statement continued. "This responsibility is even more so in case of fellow democracies. It could otherwise end up setting unhealthy precedents."

India had issued a similar rebuke and summoned a German envoy over the weekend after the government in Berlin said it assumed and expected standards relating to independence of the judiciary and basic democratic principles would be applied in the case.

They don't but many pakistanis think they do. Some of them are pretty active on this forum too

You didn't like that simple truth because it spoiled your agenda, but it's hardly a secret. In any case the main point was Americans hatred is more aimed at the middle east, hence barbs like towel heads, A-rabs, etc. Pakistan doesn't really feature much in the minds of ordinary Americans they don't have the same history with the subcontinent as the Brits do.

Amusing to see sarkari stooges like Mohandas Pai & Arvind Virmani getting hot under the collar at Raghuram Rajan's comments about the current state of Indian education.

Virmani calling RR parachute economist is laughable. Mohandas Pai says jobs have increased.

In your bid to appease feku, don't be afraid to call spade a spade.

No Wrongdoing": CBI Shuts Case Vs NCP's Praful Patel, Who Is Now In NDA

New Delhi: Nationalist Congress Party leader Praful Patel has been let off in an alleged corruption case as the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) concluded there was no "evidence of any wrongdoing". The case was registered in 2017 to probe the allegations of irregularities in leasing aircraft for Air India.

CBI has filed a closure report at a special court in Delhi. After going through the probe agency's findings, the court will decide whether to accept the report or continue the investigation.

Allegations had been made that under the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, a large number of Air India aircraft were leased which hit the airlines' finances severely. The charges claimed that Air India made huge losses after the move while private persons made pecuniary gains.

Lol, this is so bloody predictable. There hasn't been a bigger personally corrupt guy than feku.

Delhi CM’s custody extended until April 1 in graft case

An Indian court extended the custody of opposition leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal until April 1 on Thursday in a graft case related to the national capital territory’s liquor policy, local media said.

India’s financial crime-fighting agency arrested Kejriwal last week in connection with corruption allegations related to the city’s liquor policy and he was remanded to its custody until Thursday, weeks before India begins voting in general elections on April 19.

Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) says the case is fabricated and politically motivated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government and his Bharatiya Janata Party deny political interference and say law enforcement agencies are doing their job.

All the main leaders of AAP were already imprisoned in the case before Kejriwal was arrested.

Terming his arrest a “political conspiracy”, Kejriwal, 55, told reporters outside court on Thursday that “the public will respond to this”. Speaking in court later, he said the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which has arrested him, aims to crush AAP.

ED lawyers told the court that they needed Kejriwal in custody for another seven days as he was “deliberately not cooperating” and needed to be interrogated further.

India’s main opposition party said on Friday it had been asked to pay an additional 18.2 billion rupees ($218 million) in taxes, which it called an attempt by the tax department to financially cripple it weeks before general elections.

Calling the latest notice from the Income Tax Department “tax terrorism”, Congress treasurer Ajay Maken told reporters the party would fight the demand in court.

India will vote in seven phases between April 19 and June 1 in general elections Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to win and secure a record-equalling third straight term.

“The law is on our side, we have no doubt about it, but by the time we get relief, elections will be over,” Maken said. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the case on April 1, he added.

A tax department spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Friday, which is a public holiday. The tax department has said it can not comment on individual tax notices as they are confidential.

Congress, which has been ruled by the Gandhi-Nehru family, was once India’s most dominant political party and has accused Modi of trying to “cripple it financially” before the elections through the tax department.

Last month, the party said the authorities froze some of its bank accounts pending a tax case that dates back to 2018-19 involving 1.35 billion rupees, and its bid to contest this in court was dismissed.

Modi’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has said that the tax case was not politically motivated.

Asked how much the party would be left with to contest the elections after the two tax demands, Maken said: “You think there will be anything left after this?”

Congress has ruled India for 54 of its 76 years since independence from Britain, but it has struggled to win over voters since Modi swept to power in 2014.

After US, Germany, UN Comment On Arvind Kejriwal, Vice President's Rejoinder

Stressing that India is a unique democracy, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar has said the country does not need lessons from anyone on the rule of law. His comments came after Germany, the US and the United Nations made remarks on the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The questions posed to representatives of the US and the UN, which triggered the comments, were also about the freezing of the Congress' bank accounts.

Speaking at an event on Friday, the Vice President said, "India is a democracy with a robust judicial system. This can't be compromised by any individual or any group. India does not need lessons from anyone on rule of law."

Mr Dhankhar emphasised that "equality before law is the new norm" in India and those who thought they are beyond the law are being held accountable.

In a possible reference to the AAP's planned rally against Mr Kejriwal's arrest at the Ramlila Maidan in New Delhi on Sunday, which will be attended by several leaders from the INDIA alliance, the Vice President said, "But what do we see? The moment the law takes its course, they take to the streets, high-decibel debates, camouflaging culpability of the worst nature by human rights. This is happening under our nose," he added.

Describing the Indian judicial system as robust, independent and pro-people, he asked, "What is the justification for a person or an institution or an organisation to take to the streets when the law is set in motion?"

Addressing the 70th Founders' Day celebrations of the Indian Institute of Public Administration, Mr Dhankhar also said people engaging in the "transgression of law" are now playing the victim card.

"Corruption is not a passage to opportunity, employment or a contract anymore. It is a passage to jail... Can you go on a high moral ground that the corrupt must not be dealt with because it is a festive season or it is farming season? How can there be any season to save those who are culpable," the Vice President asked.

After the remarks by representatives of the US and Germany, India had summoned their envoys. It had termed the comments "unwarranted", "biased" and "unacceptable", but has not reacted to the statement by a spokesperson for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres so far.

The income tax department initially began with a notice to the Congress party for violation of the deposit of Rs 14 lakh cash by some 24 Congress members. In a normal tax case, a tax demand would be made on Rs 14 lakhs and a maximum penalty of 300% would be imposed. The case would be closed. That is how tax departments work in the normal course.

But in this case, when the Congress reportedly offered to pay up the maximum penalty, the tax department refused to settle the matter and brought other issues on board. Is it impossible to continue the tax investigation and yet let the Congress party spend whatever is needed for the ongoing polls? Even a high school kid would know the answer to this question.

India opposition protest arrest of leader Arvind Kejriwal weeks before general election

Indian opposition parties united on Sunday to protest against the arrest of a prominent leader weeks before a national election, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his party of rigging the vote and harassing them with large tax demands.

"Narendra Modi is trying match-fixing in this election," Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi told a New Delhi rally as the crowd chanted "Shame!"

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, a staunch Modi critic, anti-corruption crusader and a high-profile leader of the 27-member "INDIA" opposition bloc, was arrested on March 21 for alleged graft over granting liquor licenses, less than a month before voting starts in a general election widely expected to solidify Modi's mandate with a rare third term.
Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party says the case is fabricated and politically motivated. Modi's government and his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) deny political interference and say law enforcement agencies are doing their job.

"If the BJP wins this match-fixing election and changes the constitution, it will light the country on fire," said Gandhi, whose party ruled India for more than two-thirds of the time since independence in 1947 but has struggled since Modi swept to power a decade ago.

"This is not an ordinary election. This election is to save the country, protect our constitution."

Sharing the stage with Gandhi at the popular Ramlila Maidan gathering site were opposition leaders including regional party heads who have overcome differences over which party would contest which seats.

Modi said his fight against corruption has rattled the opposition and this election is a fight between his party and its allies who want to remove the corrupt, compared with the opposition that wants to protect the corrupt.

"Big corrupt people are behind bars and even the Supreme Court is not giving them bail," Modi said in a rally to launch his election campaign in the populous northern state of Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

Congress, besides struggling with detentions and raids by India's financial crime-fighting agency, says it faces "tax terrorism" from large tax demands by the government and the freezing of some of its bank accounts, all of which it calls attempts to financially cripple the party.

Critics say Modi and his party have weaponised investigative agencies and tax authorities to cull political opponents and reduce the chances of a fair election, an accusation the BJP denies.

"This fascism will not work in India," Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, told the rally. "We will fight and we will win."

Arvind Kejriwal is now send to Tihar Jail....so looks like no respite for him. I am expecting him to remain locked up for long time like his colleagues Sisodia, Sanjay Singh etc are.

Question is - can he remain Delhi CM and perform the duties from prison?

Why is Modi so fearful of any competition? First Gandhi and now this.

I think focus of Aam Admi Party should be to save the govt. People of Delhi voted for their party and people's mandate must be respected. If Kejriwal remains adamant to not resign, Central govt can step in and implement president rule which will mean Modi/BJP indirectly will rule Delhi. AAP should play smart here and handover the CM seat to someone else in their party so that people's mandate is respected.

Apparently there is enough proof gathered by ED (investigative agency) which proves Kejriwal is involved in corruption. Don't think there is any vendetta of ruling BJP behind it. However, my fellow Indian posters can shed more light.

As per reports, Kejriwal has demanded for a book of Ramayana, Bhagwat Gita, a desk & chair, special diet considering he is diabetic and a tv which shows Hindi news channels in his prison cell.

Mamata Ammayi I hope you are watching you kingpin pakka fraud, hope you soon join Aravind Kuttan in Tihar jail in the near future.......

As per reports, Kejriwal has demanded for a book of Ramayana, Bhagwat Gita, a desk & chair, special diet considering he is diabetic and a tv which shows Hindi news channels in his prison cell.
He should only get what the rest of the prisoners have access to..

I will be extremely happy if any action is taken against Mamata but touching her won't be easy. She has that similar clout in Bengal as Modi has in India. Even BJP will be wary of going after Didi. Kejriwal was kind of an easy target but Mamata is a different ball game all together.

I think Kejriwal would be hoping exactly for that. It's not like there's a long while anyway before the Assembly elections - a year away? A bout of president's rule with morchas and fasts unto death from his party would be exactly what the doctor ordered for him.

This was the last Legislative election. If anything, Kejriwal is even more popular now and if the state is placed under President's rule, I think we could be looking at a clean sweep in the State elections and some nice gains in the Lok Sabha polls as well.

LOL Modichayan fearful of our Puppu ?

Stick to Pakistan and Imran Khan politics, you have no clue about Indian politics...

🤣
No fear. Just pointing some unpalatable facts which seem to scare you. But Ind has been on the fascist path for a while, so obviously you got used to it.

Arvind Kejriwal is AAP and AAP is Kejriwal. He has not created any successor who can take the mantle from him. The other 2 senior members - Manish Sisodia & Sanjay Singh are both jailed too. Raghav Chadha meanwhile hiding in London fearing arrest. Now that Kejriwal took Atishi's name during investigation, she will be jailed soon too.

So there is nothing or no-one left in AAP party to do morchas and fast until death. If president rule comes, there is no coming back for AAP.

Let's wait and see. In this age of WhatsApp and other social media, all it takes is one young guy to be able to organise a semblance of a mass movement - especially in a well connected, compact state like Delhi. I find it tough to believe that among the dozens of MLAs from AAP, one won't emerge.

I generally respect BJP's political strategy despite not liking their ideology and campaign but the endgame here still mystifies me.

Whatever BJP need to do to get that wicked witch locked up for good they must... Only way to stop the illegal Bangladeshi migrants

Didn't our Arvind kuttan refuse to attend the Ram Temple inauguration? .Now that he is going to jail he wants all of India to see he is a Ram Bhakt 😅, gain as much of political advantage as possible, what a shameless creature........

What's with the TV show only with Hindi ? Why not English, what kinda message is this sending to the Dravidians of India who dont consider Hindi as their main language...... This is North Indian Racism towards the South at its worst from a major leader.... Pathetic

One thing I'll say, regardless of whether you like the BJP or not, it's pretty apparent that Kejriwal is not the innocent middle class man that he has tried to appear so far.

BJP has a fairly large presence in Bengal compared to Delhi, imo it will not be difficult to take out Mamata Ammayi..

Either way Ammayi/illegal Bangladeshi migrants' will now have strong hints their countdown has begun..

PM Modi defends electoral bonds scheme: Today you know who gave money, who received it

Tell me what I did to cause a setback? Those who are happy about it today will regret tomorrow. I ask these experts – how many elections were held before 2014? There must have been expenses in those elections, right? Can any organisation tell where that money came from?” he told Thanti TV, a prominent Tamil news channel, in an interview telecast on Sunday.

“Today Modi has created election documents; that’s why you can search about it. You can find out who gave the money and who received it. Otherwise, no one knows where the money came from. Elections happened before too … Today, you know these details through election documents. Every issue may have some flaws. But if these flaws are fixed, it can be corrected,” the Prime Minister said.

lol, you won't find a bigger hypocrite and liar than this feku. This is same feku whose regime went out on a limb to protect the anonymity of the money trail until the SC scrapped the scheme following which the SBI and the EC were forced to make public these details.

But don't worry, his clueless bhakts will lap this up too.

In a big relief to the Congress ahead of Lok Sabha polls, the Centre told the Supreme Court today that it will not act against the Opposition party to recover tax dues amounting to over ₹ 3,500 crore.

The matter, the court said, will be heard next on July 24.

The Congress had approached the Supreme Court after it received notices from Income Tax department, seeking payment of tax dues amounting to a whopping ₹ 3,567 crore. The Opposition party has accused the ruling BJP of "tax terrorism" and alleged the Income Tax department's move as an attempt to choke it financially in the run-up to polls. The party has said this was disrupting the level-playing field for the polls and also urged the Election Commission to intervene.

Earlier, tax authorities withdrew a sum of ₹ 135 crore from a party's accounts for dues from previous years. The Congress had earlier said the ruling BJP was in serious violation of tax laws, but the Income Tax department was not acting against it.

Running scared :dhoni
