if u r keeping Babar in ur playing 11 then he must bat at numiber 3 and bring Kamran at number 4 as u can expect some pinch hitting from kamran down the order but not from babar.
 
Kamran definitely should have a spot in both ODIs and Red Ball formats. In red balls, I will play him at 3 with BA at 4 and in ODI, the number can switch.

Saud has been pretty bad in the one-day cup but he might lost his place that soon.
 
I don't know what is his crime? He's not from Karachi either, so some may have found a reason.

Kamran I think is from KPK. So maybe the rumours about trying to reduce KPK influence as there are complaints that there’s bias towards that area. Also surprising Rizwan hasn’t been given captaincy. I also found it strange that Saud was called up instead of Kamran initially. Saud definitely deserved to get called up. But when Kamran broke the record that year, you’d think you’d go with Kamran if you had to choose. Form like that isn’t common, and usually you want to exploit it when it is there. Saud was just in normal form for him when he was picked. Might be a situation where they’re trying to overcorrect to placate those complaining about Karachi discrimination.

However I’d like to believe it isn’t due to regional reasons. My feeling is he puts pressure on the captain. Masood is literally playing in Kamran’s slot. They might be reluctant to drop one of the openers as they’re messing with young talent. And if they did drop an opener and then move Masood up it looks like they are accommodating Masood when he did worse than the opener they dropped.

Kamran being in the squad puts pressure on the top three for their places. Maybe Babar too as long as he’s out of form. On the other hand a player like Hurraira in the squad places less pressure as he’s still very young. The team is probably told to just go out there and don’t worry about getting dropped in order to try and make them feel confident.

It’s a whole mess due to two reasons. Appointing Shan as captain before he cemented his place as a player. And putting all our eggs in one basket for Saim to succeed. We are desperate to have Saim succeed even in one format, just to justify playing him game after game failing. Also what i suspect is that they are afraid Saim will lose confidence if dropped entirely for internationals. The amount of players that go on to succeed after failing this early after so many games is extremely low. Management probably want to ensure he succeeds at something before dropping him completely. This is the danger you face when you just keep playing someone despite failing hoping for them to come good. These failures have also put doubters on Pakistans greatest young talent, which hurts hope for Pakistani cricket. Being bad currently is one thing, but if fans can out even hope for new talent to lead for better times in the future, it creates a very depressing situation.
 
Kamran Ghulam will serve as reserve for 1st Test against England, but continue playing domestic matches to remain match-ready.

He is more match ready than the entire Pakistan top 7 at this moment, all that have been pulled out of the national cup

Nothing coming out of the PCB is making sense

There is literally a 34 year old with an average of 28 coming in at 3. They have this abdullah shafique who looks like a more timid clone of Asad Shafiq coming in as an opener.

They would rather bring back parchis like Imam. Saim is an obvious talent so they couldn't possibly ignore him.

It's these ex cricketers who are the problem, their bread and butter is parchi slips and dosti, that's how they operate. Kick them all out and let them bark on social media and watch PCB transform.

Asad shafiq was 100x the batter that Abdullah is in test. Asad has many match saving innings and my favourite one was his 137 against sri lanka in 4 fay test.

I am not a fan of Asad, he's by far the most atrocious player to gave played for pakistan at the no 3 spot in odi, but credit where it's due, he was a good no 6.

Abdullah shafiq is a pale version of him, Abdullah's entire career has been bashing sri lanka in test and odi, excluding sri lanka, he's flunked against every opposition.
 
He must be the part of Pakistan squad for the Champions Trophy. He is 28 and he should be given a proper run with the national team, at least in ODI cricket.
 
Kamran Ghulam has been called up to Pakistan's squad for the 2nd and 3rd Tests against England.

He is replacing Babar Azam

He also been part of training camp today at Multan cricket stadium

Deserves his chance based on the sheer volume of his runs. I worry about his body language and posture. Let's hope he gets a proper run
 
Kamran Ghulam has been included in the playing XI for the 2nd Test against England and is set to make his Test debut tomorrow
 
He won't have a better place to debut than on a slow, used pitch in Multan.

Hopefully he'll add some grit in our middle order that we've been missing for a while.
 
End of Babar era finally.

I hope Kamran scores so much that Babar cant find a way back even if he wanted to.

Babar and Co have a lot of answering to do. So many crimes committed against Pakistan cricket under his watch and those who were milking his ‘brand’
 
I think people need to calm down. This is just one innings, and there were signs that if the wicket had been quicker—as 99% of wickets will be one of those edges would have likely carried to the slips.

It was a good innings, but based on this evidence, it doesn't seem like he’ll be the saviour of Pakistan cricket. In fact, he’ll do well if he manages to average 40 by the end of his career.

More then Babar, I think Misbah + Ramiz have the most explanation to do.

I remember sarfi's era very vividly and no one, I repeat not a single soul pre 2019 nz game considered Babar a goat, or a king or some messiah and rizwan wasn't even present.

Infact their was an uproar against afridi on why he selected rizwan over sarfarz in one series in t20.

All eyes were on Fakhar during this time period as the X factor and Haris sohail was considered the main middle order guy with hafeez as the main allrounder and imad your unique opening bowler alongside amir providing breakthroughs etc etc.

Not a single soul called Babar a king, infact mickey even stated bobby came at no 3 because he felt an anchorer was needed to bat through for fakhar and haris, Key word anchorer.

This king king drama first originated against NZ.

4 years, I repeat 4 years of these 2 clowns followed by the introduction of chacha smh
 
I love how many babar fans ego got hurt today.

This is the biggest joy I have felt since sarfi scoring a 100 to silence rizzu fans against nz as well as sarfi mom in 2015 and ct 2017 win to silence Misbah fans.

Just like with sarfaraz, Already Babar fans are performing calculus on him.

I saw @Major like a post where kamran ghulam apprantly dead batted 38% of fast bowlers and most dominated spin.

I'd love to see rizzu's stats of him missing everything left and right against England pacers and being clueless against reverse.
 
No one knows if he can play The shorter formats and the reason for that is the awful domestic league doesnt give the grounding . He has a good attitude and looks a fighter but whether that is enough, well only time will tell.
 
I Like Kamran Ghulam and I feel he should be backed however not at the expense of Saud Shakeel who's both a better odi and test batter.

Saud hasn't kicked off in odi but talent wise he's a gem for pakistan. He's easily the best player of spin in the entire country and he's innovative as well.

Saud can't play pace if his life depends on it. He is a sitting duck against bouncers and will be ruthlessly exposed in South Africa just like he was in Australia

Pakistan is short in supply as is. Buggers can't be choosers.

With the likes of Hasebullah and others in the dugout their really is no choice.

Saud is your best player of spin in the country. No choice but to make him your no 4 and hope he improves over time against pace.

Kamran ghulam is just okay against pace and spin, I can tell that while he's hard working, he ain't exactly anything special.

But saud game unfortunately is not for places like sa or aus thats where likes of shan masood thrive because shan can play hook and pull which saud cant do dont get me wrong saud is excellent in pakistan but outside asia he doesnt have game for it anyone who have seen cricket knows condition matters alot in cricket same shan will be exposed in pak compare to sa or aus bro.

Lol they have a fat chance in hell. Sa is only losing to pakistan in icc events during knockout stages due to their mentality.

They ain't losing otherwise. And heck I'm starting to believe they'd probs win in knockouts as well.

Still I'm fine with Shan opening but he ain't doing much nor will he be any different.

Pakistan is literally fakhar or bust that's it.
 
He was sent at number 7 last game and was not out

Rizwan did the classic 36 off 37 again in this game.

When will these players speak up? This fraud is sabotaging their career!!
