There used to be a time when speed gun used to vary from Hawkeye speeds for pretty much every ball.

Recently, it was understood that broadcasters were using speeds given by HawkEye/Virtual Eye.

But seems like this is not always the case. @cricketjoshila might know more. He made a thread about this a few years ago

TOSS - Faf du Plessis and KL Rahul are out in the middle. Bengaluru have won the toss and they have opted to BOWL first.

I think we are safely moving away from kl .kl seems to be playing for himself as usual and not scoring runs too.
 
Am shocked by the amount of dropped catches in the IPL i.e. already 35-36 and the PSL had 42 dropped catches overall in the season and PSL got bashed for poor fielding, fitness standards.

IPL's fitness, ground fielding standards are way superior to PSL's right now but the dropped catches are shocking. What excuses do these franchises who are owned by Billionaires and funded in $millions have for this?

Pressure. IPL has bigger pressure I would say. But that should not be an excuse.
 
Decock should hit out. LSG was set for 200 target. Now they will be lucky if they can get to 180.

Chances vs dropped can give a better picture?
 
RCB's mental disintegration is such that they can get demoralized by those sixes and may not be able to chase this modest total... (on this ground)

In PSL most catches dropped were absolute sitters. In IPL, most of the dropped ones are half chances. Very few were sitters.
 
Siraj needs to learn to bowl slower balls. Most of his deliveries are his regular pace even at death. Its either Yorker or normal length delivery.
 
Bishnoi must learn to spin the ball. He is just darting straight deliveries with a leg spinner action.
 
Would have loved to see how Mayank fared against Kohli. Would have given us fans a yardstick to measure his effectiveness.

Don't think i have ever seen Kohli tested against 155 km/hr plus pace.
 
Devdutt Padikkal is yet to register a double digit score in IPL 2024

LSG had traded him in place of Avesh Khan before the Auction
 
Scores of RCB overseas batters so far:

Faf du Plessis: 35, 3, 8, 19

Glenn Maxwell: 0, 3, 28, 0

Cameron Green: 18, 3, 33, 9

They were supposed to be the strongest suit.

Shaun Tait i doubt was bowling at those speeds by then, he had slowed down. He retired a year later in 2017
 
Brainless stuff from RCB. They know Mayank Yadav is the biggest threat and X factor, why not see him off?
 
List of captains that RCB had over the years and yet couldn't win a trophy -
Rahul Dravid, Kevin Pietersen, Anil Kumble, Daniel Vettori, Virat Kohli, Faf Duplessis.
 
Overhyped RCB team, apart from Kohli's stardom, they have nothing. Also Faf Du plessis does nothing. Their bowling attack is their biggest weakness.

RCB threatened to miraculously scale 182 briefly through Mahipal Lomror, who produced a forceful 33 off 13 balls. However, Mayank's scorching three-wicket haul (3/14) was not to be denied as the hosts were bundled out for 153.

Angkrish is only 18 and playing with confidence. Good to see KKR give youngsters a chance in IPL.
 
3 dropped catches today. Already equalling the dropped catches in the PSL in 40% of the games. Very sad for a billion dollar league.
