Why should he let go off an annual confirmed paycheque of $1.5-2.5 million a year? Absolute madness for him to do so. You only play this game of cricket once in your lifetime, let him make the most of it.

Blame the crazy Thala fans - there will be a collective meltdown in Chennai the day he decides to retire.

But I think the transition to Rituraj is good, he might be finally thinking of hanging his boots next season.

Thala is not going anywhere even if he retires. HE will be sitting next to Stephen fleming, Dwayne bravo

Tbh its not about Trophies but more about Stars, Marketing and Draw. In boxing a champion at times has to concede the box office split if his challenger is a bigger pay per view draw.

Yea that is what. Teams like Punjab, Delhi neither won any trophy nor made any massive profit.

LSG has a good team to win the trophy this year if their players stay fit. RCB lacks a good spinner. If they fill that gap, they have a strong team to win the trophy. I expect LSG or RCB to win in 2024.

:) Yes, I am a CSK fan and I want them to win every time. However, I don't expect CSK to win the title this year with Ruturaj as the captain.

LSG is a strong team and they can win. RCB is also a strong team with slight weakness in spin bowling. If Dagar and Karn Sharma step up, they have the team to win the title.

yeah strange move to make Gaikwad captain with Dhoni being around.

Looking difficult for LSG but yeah RCB can win this tournament if their batting fires... there is no way they can win relying on their bowling.
 
Teams likely with a chance in playoffs based on the strength on paper and initial performances -

1. CSK
2. MI (if SKY gets back on time)
3. RR (really good side)
4. KKR(good side)
5. RCB(good side)
6. GT(decent side)

I agree, RCB rely on their batting strength.

Over the years, they struggled in Chinnaswamy stadium with their bowlers not being able to contain the opposition. In many of those instances, they couldn't take wickets in the middle overs. When a team doesn't win matches at their home, it is difficult to qualify for the playoffs. They need wicket taking spinners. But, their think tank let go Hasaranga and Zampa.
 
I don't think RCB is going anywhere in this season as well. CSK, kkr, RR and MI will be my top 4.
 
@ChennaiFan @JaDed @jnaveen1980 since you guys are CSK fans, here is something I read recently that will tickle you.

Apparently, CSK and RCB are in talks about some rental space at Chinnaswamy stadium. Reason being Chepauk is running out of room to display their IPL trophies. Since RCB has an empty cabinet, CSK want to use that space!

CSK fans are just brutal towards RCB fans.

Took Tendulkar 25 years to play 200 tests. Rohit's IPL 200 in 17 years. Surprisingly, not that far apart.
 
SRH pick Unadkat while they have Washington riding the bench. Not too bright their coach and captain.

Though I agree Sundar is better than Unadkat but he's not a T20 material.. he's an accumulator and a part time bowler.. good for test though .

He can contribute with both bat and ball. Economical enough with the ball and a lower order hitter.

What does Unadkat give? Blasted around the ground and offers nothing with the bat. Brainless decision by SRH. This is why they lose more often than they win.

He's not a hitter though.. can use him in opening considering Agarwal's awful form..

Head is a beast on Indian pitches. Playing like a dream.

Except Bumrah, everyone got destroyed.
 
Pandyas shodapan is very annoying and off putting. I can tell why he is mostly disliked.
 
Mumbai needs Head's wicket right now. 4 more overs of this carnage and MI will be batted out of the game. Even with the powerful batting lineup that MI has, the target will be out of their reach.
 
Lol Piyush Chawla clearly looks like hes been feasting on the IPL money all these years.
 
Washi should replace mayank now and take care of left handers (tilak,ishan).I don't think Unadkat can survive here
