What's new

[PICTURES/VIDEOS] Saim Ayub - the real deal or a flash in the pan?

A class act with the bat first scoring 57 off just 38 balls and now he has picked up 2 wickets as well giving 20 runs in his 2 over spell so far against West Indies in the 1st T20 game of the series.

Good to see him scoring some runs now... He failed badly in Bangaldesh
I think im an outlier but I feel he is more of an odi cricketer and may soon develop into a test cricketer then a t20 one

He bags the Man of the Match award for a superb all-round show — 57 runs with the bat & 2/20 with the ball.

Saim Ayub speaking during the post-match presentation:

"First of all, it was a challenging wicket to bat on. Our focus was on building partnerships and not panicking under pressure."

"Yes, we planned extensively, but at the same time, we remain flexible. It's important to adapt based on the conditions, the shots we can play, and the strategies the opposition might use. The key is to simplify the challenge and understand what approach to take."

"The pitch made stroke-making difficult, so staying calm and focused was crucial."

"As for my role, I’ll do whatever the team requires. That wasn’t my best bowling performance, and I’ll look to improve."

Saim has been a revelation in bowling... His batting has also improved.

Really good asset to have atm.. His bowling is even more mysterious than Abrar atm...

He can only bowl to these lower table teams

Don’t even think about considering him as a full time bowler against India, England, Australia and NZ.

He can certainly be a good part time option... Never gonna consider him full time bowler. no need...

I think he should bowl on sluggish surfaces. He can come in handy even against good teams.

He shouldn't bowl on flat pitches.

Ayub will regress soon without the calming influence of Riz and Babar in the dressing room. He might end up a tulla like Konstas if we are not careful with him.

Saim’s shots look really good at times, but he doesn’t have a proper awareness of his off-stump. This ball, which was rising and swinging away, was one to leave but he chose to play...

Flash in the pan type stuff now.

Saim Ayub 12 Innings in ODI Cricket So far 1, 82, 42, 11, 113, 31, 109, 25, 101, 5, 23, 0

PAK vs UAE, Tri series, Match 2: Edged away and 50 came up for Saim. 53* (25) with a classy four edging it wide off the keeper

Saim needs to put more prize on his wicket, also I think his batting stance changed a bit since comeback.

Has been better today as he is pulling and playing the jab well

Loved Saim’s answer when Rameez asked why he never gets too excited about MOTM awards. He said they’re overrated and cricket’s a team game. With that attitude, wishing him and the rest of the youngsters loads of success!

I never said Imam should replace Saim in all formats of white ball cricket. Stop twisting my words. Grow up instead of taking cheap shots nonstop, especially when I’m not even responding to or quoting your posts.

You do, you recently put up a white ball XI where you had Imam in the middle order.

It gave me comic relief because it’s bad enough to have him in a white ball team but when you included him in the middle order, I knew I found a gem from you. Keep them coming. I’m here to give full marks.

Show me a single post where I said Imam should replace Saim in all formats of white ball cricket. You just keep picking silly fights with people, and it’s obvious across all your accounts, the same distortion of facts and constant lying gives away exactly who you are. But this is a bit too much now. Grow up, and either show me that post or stop wasting my time and space here.

Go back to the post where you had an XI of Rizwan, Babar and Imam in it.

You can continue to throw hissy fits but that doesn’t change the reality.

It’s not my fault you are a bottom tier poster, who cannot see cricket beyond the lens of the Misah-esque brand of cricket.

Stop wasting our time with your substandard reading of the game.

I can understand why certain ex-players, journalists and etc promote the Babar and Rizwan partnership because some of them make money from it but the fact that you do it for free sums up how pathetic your begging for the return of Rizbar really is.

I saw Saim & Shaheen sliding on one leg to stop the ball in the game vs Afghanistan. Saim has just come from injury. Can someone explain to them it is not worth it unless they are playing a WC final

Look for the positive

If they get injured, your favourites can return?

Show me one single post where I’ve said Imam should replace Saim in white ball cricket. You can’t, because I never said it. So stop spreading lies and posting nonsense.

I’ll say whatever I want about cricket on this forum, and if you have a problem with that, just ignore my posts instead of constantly twisting my words. The stuff you typed here isn’t worth a serious response because I have zero respect for your cricket knowledge. You’ve spent over a year trying to get a reaction out of me, and well, here you go, I finally replied. Hopefully, that helps you sleep better at night.

For the record, I never reply directly to your posts or quote you, because I don’t consider your takes worth my time. But you keep dragging me in with lies and nonsense, which only makes you look foolish again and again. If you don’t think I’m a good poster, fine, that’s your opinion. But repeating the same thing in every other thread and trying to bait me nonstop is nothing short of sickening behavior.

So let me say this clearly: stop lying about what I’ve said, stop twisting things just to pick fights, and stop digging yourself into a hole you can’t get out of. I never said Imam should replace Saim in white ball cricket, and you know it. You’re just obsessed with starting fights that I have no interest in.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve bothered replying to your nonsense, but you still chase after me like you need a piece of me. Honestly, what’s wrong with you?

It was deleted because you decided to make it personal when you were in discussion with another poster but I wish I had taken a screenshot of it.

I don’t need your response. I want to stop this unhealthy obsession you have with Babar and Rizwan.

Now you come up with another lie, saying my post was deleted because I made it personal when I was having a discussion with another poster. I haven’t been getting into debates with any other poster for a long time, and whenever a decent and respectable poster quotes me, I always try to respond politely and respectfully. This is exactly what happens when you say one lie and then refuse to admit it, you end up making up more stories and lying again just to cover it. Stop embarrassing yourself.

I’ll write whatever I want about Rizwan, Babar, or any other Pakistan player, and I’ve been doing that for as long as I’ve been on this site. You can’t stop that, so stick to cricket instead of lying and twisting facts.

You dug a hole you can’t get out of, and the best thing would be to admit you lied about me saying Imam should replace Saim in white ball cricket. If you think your words have the power to stop people’s “obsessions” with Rizwan, Babar, or anyone else, then start with the basics: speak the truth. Don’t lie. Only then will anyone take your words seriously. If you’re not even honest with yourself, how can you expect to change what others think?

You desperation to cover it up is there for everyone to see. You’re not fooling me.

A word of advice. If you’re going to tell someone to be honest. Practice what you preach.

You keep jumping from one thing to another instead of backing up your claims. The burden is on you to prove that I ever said Imam should replace Saim in white ball cricket. Nobody here drags Imam into T20 discussions. Imam himself knows he’s not a T20 player, yet you invented that lie and now you’re piling on with even more.

When asked for proof, you completely lost the plot. You started whining, called me a “bottom-tier poster,” dragged Misbah out of nowhere (I haven’t mentioned him in years), then jumped to Babar and Rizwan, and now you’re back to lying about my posts being deleted for being “personal.” It’s laughable,

I saw the comment too. Yes it was deleted but Imam was at no 4 in his middle order, Rizwan and Babar openers, Agha no 3.

This is why I usually don’t even bother replying, you’re not at my level, and it’s honestly too easy to expose you. But here’s the thing: stop lying. Every time you do, it only makes you look desperate and kills whatever little credibility you might have left. I’m done with you for today, but the next time you twist my words or pin stuff on me that I never said, I’ll put you in your place again.
You put Imam at no 4 brother

I never mentioned Rizwan as an opener in that lineup, and I’ve never once put Agha at number 3 in any of my XIs, 3 is always reserved for our GOAT ODI batter, Babar Azam. The pattern is always the same, twisting things around and inventing stuff that was never said. From day one I’ve supported Saim and always wanted him to succeed, who wouldn’t? We rarely get a batter like him who can score at a high strike rate and still look so clean with his shots. Even the players I don’t like, I still want them to improve and become better for Pakistan. But you’ll never win any argument if the only tactic is to rely on false claims instead of genuine discussion. At the end of the day, it’s just not cool to spread lies about another poster and try to put words in his mouth that he never said, everyone can see through that.
