Which will be the top party after the upcoming general elections?

Khans international presence should help with Kashmir..imagine him answering the usual stupid one dimensional questions from the western press..lol..cant wait for that..

haha yea and he will be catch the media attention too when meeting leaders of big countries because western media is used to seeing dumb leaders like NS from Pak so they will be in shock :D

What are the chances of Bilawal becoming leader of opposition? Reports are that Shahbaz may resign from the NA and try and become CM Punjab again. PPP would need MMA's votes, and could maybe exploit some potential rifts within PML-N? IMO, Bilawal as opposition leader would be better than anyone from PML-N, at least we may end up seeing some policy based debates.

I think it is acceptable for National Leaders, but people won't be so receptive to, for example, Chan running in Karachi.

Well if he leaves NA-243 in Karachi, Rashid Godil (I said Nadeem before lol) is the best choice. In Islamabad, I think PTI had 3-4 choices for this seat, which was the main reason Imran Khan ran here? Lahore could be Waleed Iqbal? Mian or Waseem might know better. Not sure about Bannu to be honest.

Waleed Iqbal thora Naraz tha so IK promised him NA131 if he resigns but i am afraid Waleed will lose it he can't win against Khawaja Saad.

It's gonna be a very difficult drive because of the mess Pakistan is right now thanks to last 10 years govt of PPP and PMLN but i am hoping things will get better slowly slowly and i hope Khan don't ignore Kashmir issues like Nawaz govt and stand with them in all these difficult times. Hoping for the best bro!

Same here... it's obviously not gonna be a walk in the park. Khan would hv to invest a lot of time and resources in international diplomacy. Pakistan has almost been isolated internationally, I wonder what would hv happened had it not been for army and China that kept Pakistan relevant internationally ..

Bilawal would be better but i am seeing PMLN giving it to Raza Rabbani or Khawaja Asif (if he wins).

ECP has reported a turnout of 51.82%

Very good turnout, considering last times turnout also includes the mass dhandli!

Khawaja Asif would be horrible, we will end up with stupid things being debated. Really hope Zardari's expertise in political maneuvering hands Bilawal leader of opposition. :zardari2

Our economy is also in a dump we don't even have money to run country after 60 days and need $26 billion quickly so his first priority should be to get economy back on track and sadly there is no way we are getting out of IMF trap any time soon. Once the economy is back on track than we will able to focus on international diplomacy

PMLN will never agree to Bilawal they know that will be the final nail in Maryam's political career i can see Raza Rabbani as a mutafeqa umeedvar

When are they going to publish full stats? Really interested to see how many votes PTI got in whole country and region, province, city wise

alhumdullilah the real mubarak goes to aftab bhai and his family. And to all the workers who defeated the ethno facists of the Mqm..

Humble family from very humble beginnings. They used to live in a one room house, 5-6 kids, parents..etc..eventually dragged themselves out of that and fought their way up..by the time I came to my senses they were doing relatively better but still only lived in a three bed flat..there were ten of them..lol..

really happy for them

great to see people like them reaching assembly. Mubarak bhai but where is the mithai?

Really happy for them too! Awesome story, these are the types of people we need more of! The regular everyday person, representing common folk like us.

PTI already thinking on the name of 4 Governors. Wow just heard we won 2 NA seats from balochistan not 1 lol and that too without IK having any jalsa there and there were lot of issues between Rind and Pukhtun leadership of PTI

Na260 has been won by Yar Rind so it’s three

MQM losing Azizabad to PTI and Achakzai losing against an unknown PTI leader are shocking too

Bro he is not unknown PTI leader. He was president of PTI Baluchistan before rind . I personally know his father Malik Abdul qayum kakar. And his brother iso very humble boy.
How I know him because I used to work in their income tax advisor's office and he used to come in our office regularly. His conversation with like ( Naimat bhai wo walid sahab ki file k kuch documents chahiye the mill Jain ge?)

Aaj News were reporting that IK will keep NA-131 seat.

Good call in my opinion, despite the whole "Wazir-e-Azam Karachi sey" campaign.

NA-35 Bannu, not sure if we can win this again, I reckon Durrani will win.
NA-53 Islamabad, Mian bhai will know best.
NA-95 Mianwali, I am confident about this one, considering we won this by a good 100k. We could use this to bring some key candidate who missed out on their NA seat.
NA-243, we could put up Rashid Godil here, I am confident we would win this looking at all the other results across Karachi.

Great so Soori, Jamali and Rind all 3 won and that too without IK campaign i wish he had spent more time in Baluchistan instead of wasting it in Interior Sindh.

So if there was any hand of establishment how on earth their biggest pawns (according to many) lost? Sarfraz Bugti and Ch Nisar are known to be on pro Estab and both lost

NA-53 we can win again without IK just need to put a competent and popular candidate. Mianwali people are not going to be happy because this will be the 3rd time IK resigning from there after winning.

yes but needs must..need to keep blow hards like saad rafique sidelined..

yes definatley..out of all of the brothers Aftab bhai is probably the one who had a bit more local contacts and work locally..the rest are scattered around internationally..also being the second eldest he is also a bit more responsible lol

Ahaa nice details bro i was saying at national level people were not aware of him like Achakzai so for many it was a shock otherwise Soori is with PTI from long time and he is our CEC member too and ex president i am following him on twitter.

And yet the international establishment is still harping on about rigging...their lcoal agents will keep this up for five years to sabotage IK..

His meeting with Trump might actually be quite interesting..both having to face significant media attacks lol

Well I was shocked after listening that sarfaraZ ne Dhoka de dia. I you call a person (establishment ka mohra) he fix in every corner of that .

Can someone please explain to me the logic of inviting MQM to coalition?

We don't need them and they will walk out after a while.

Yea the fight was so close i don't think anyone else can win this seat except IK or maybe Aleem Khan.

Aleem Khan can not win. He does not have the character to get votes from the people who voted Imran Khan only because of his fair personality. Dr. Yasmin Rashid can win.

PML-N leader Khawaja Saad Rafique filed an application on Thursday against the returning officer in Lahore’s NA-131, where he is contesting against PTI chief Imran Khan.

According to his lawyer, Rafique has won from his constituency but the results are not being issued. Rafique has complained about delaying tactics, reported SAMAA TV correspondent Jehangir Khan.

Another PML-N leader, Khawaja Asif, has submitted an application for a recount in NA-73 Sialkot.

Asif lost to PTI’s Usman Dar. Dar received 113,453 votes and Asif 112,717 votes.

Major (R) Tahir Sadiq
Fawad Ch
Aleem Khan

all 3 in the race of Punjab CMship from PTI. Tahir Sadiq can easily convince PMLQ because he is the brother in law of Chaudheries but giving him CMship will destroy PTI mark my words he and his group is already too strong and will become more strong if he becomes King of Punjab. I am from his District and beraadri and know his nature really he is an opportunist and jumped on PTI ship just to save his family political career because they were away from ruling parties from last 10 years and had no access to development funds.

Fawad Ch can't be trust because of his part and love for Bilawal Bhutto and PPP.

Aleem Khan is facing some cases so his chances are less otherwise IMHO he is the most loyal (kinda like Khattak) compared to others the way he stood with IK in every situation in last decade becoming the biggest villain in everyone's eye but he didn't left he wasn't even given the ticket by party in GE2013 although he was our President Lahore still he remain with party.

It may be Parvez Elahi.

He started alot of very good projects in Punjab.

All 3 seem disputed choices, from your little write up I'd say give it to Aleem Khan, however i've heard murmurings about him being a little corrupt with pending cases etc, Who would be your pick?

From this list-Aleem Khan is the best choice but unless he cleared, its a no no. FC is the next best choice but I would like Sarwar the ex Scottish MP but he is a member of the senate so i am not sure if he is eligible.

It may be Parvez Elahi.

He started alot of very good projects in Punjab.

Giving it to Pervez Elahi means a political suicide for PTI in Punjab they should give it to someone from party. Tahir Sadiq is looking strong because he is in PTI and being brother in law of Chaudheries give him their support too.

Then 7 seats of PMLQ might not join PTI. Pervez Elahi might demand to be CM.

Aleem Khan and all that has been said about him etc is not good.

Will someone like him really run Punjab corruption and influence free?

I would pick Aleem Khan but a decision like this quickly after winning means inviting media and opposition to attack you so this is a very tricky situation. Shah Mehmood was our best choice for CM but unfortunately he lost PP seat so now he is moving to Federal cabinet.

What i don't understand is why PMLN let him go free when they had every chance in last 10 years to prove him as a land mafia in courts. He suffered a lot because of them in his business even his NOC for housing society in Islamabad was rejected by CDA on orders from Sharif family but he never changed his loyalties.

We need his case sorted one way or the other. If he is guilty then punish, if he is innocent then let the guy move on.

Same.I think Tahir Sadiq could be a good choice for CMship.

Tahir Sadiq was my District Mayor for 2 terms now his daughter is District Mayor he did lot of development work here nobody can come close to what he did for Attock but he is an opportunist and too powerful to be trusted. He waited till 2017 to join PTI and within 1 year he sidelined whole leadership of PTI here and taken full control. Him becoming CM will benefit my city a lot but i fear it will hurt PTI in long term.

Then 7 seats of PMLQ might not join PTI. Pervez Elahi might demand to be CM.

What a farce this multi party electoral system is that even a party with 7 seats can bargain for a CMship. It's not even 3 % of total seats ..

Only time will tell if IK can turned around this juggernaut but from me a special thanks to you WebGuru your up dates on the Panama revelations is what kept me going, a special mention for the super human that is Mian and all the other guys that you have also mentioned. Next few years could be very painful at times as he will mistakes but IA he will bring this beautiful country through these difficult times and turn into a country that we can all be proud of.

Thanks brother i was just playing my little part in this struggle for Naya Pakistan i am glad my words helped you...

Guys why are we inviting MQM to be part of the govt?

What is the logic behind that?

They always walk out of coalition after a few months.

Breaking news-

15 independents in Punjab have joined PTI! PTI now in the lead with 138 PP seats! Just 11 more needed to form Punjab government, 7 can come from PML-Q.

Don’t see any good reason behind this. PTI should try to keep partners as low as possible. Next time, MQM will take credit for works in Karachi and PTI may not win many seats from there.

Two slight disadvantages. GDA, our ally won only 2-3 seats in Sindh and only 12 independents have won through out Pakistan. All of them might not support PTI.

I will take this with a pinch of salt. We will now for sure on election day :P

Don’t see any good reason behind this. PTI should try to keep partners as low as possible. Next time, MQM will take credit for works in Karachi and PTI may not win many seats from there.

BIG BIG BIG MISTAKE getting MQM to join.

What are the numbers PTI can get for national assembly so far?

Pretty much all seats declared. NA-32, NA-126, and NA-260 are all undeclared PTI seats, will most likely take us to 118. If Usman Dar wins his recount, we will take 119.

Seems like it's difficult for PTI to gain an outright majority right now. MQM's 6 seats are necessary. Maybe even MMA might have to be invited.

If its the MQM of the Altaf ideology then yes, but i am not sure if they are. Can someone with knowledge of Karachi politics give us more insight please.

Current MQM-P are fine and relatively clean, some decent people within their ranks too. I think they are viable as a coalition option, and I highly doubt they will stage a drama this time as long as PTI are fair with them.

why is it a mistake? If MQM joins now, that means PTI gets more reserve quota. After Mqm leaves will the reserve quota also leave?

Seems like it's difficult for PTI to gain an outright majority right now. MQM's 6 seats are necessary. Maybe even MMA might have to be invited.

MMA is a no go. PTI will easily reach 137+ when all partners are added.

I am expecting:

PTI - 118
IND - 13
MQM-P - 6
BNP - 4
PML-Q - 4
GDA - 2
AML - 1
BAP - 1
TOTAL - 149

Even if none of the independents join PTI, the coalition has enough setas, We can even do it without MQM if we wanted, or we could dtop all of BNP, PML-Q, GDA, AML, BAP, and still have a majority.
