AWP have no chance this election but it is great to see such parties forming on ideological grounds. They have a solid leftist manifesto and I would love to see them replace the PPP as Pakistan's left wing party in the future. At this stage, people don't really know about AWP nor are they seen as a party that can win the election and form government.
I agree with you it will take time for AWP to make a significant impact, but we have come a long way already since 2012 and things are looking good for the future. AWP has done well so far. Ammar and Ismat are both excellent candidates and I have no doubt they will serve their constituencies well - but it is difficult. Although, I struggle to understand why anyone would vote for Aqeel Anjum Khan over Ismat!
Don't personally consider PPP a genuine leftist option. Their record is open for all to see. Basket case of a party better known for corruption than for anything else. The good old days of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto are well and truly behind them now.
