PSP ads running mostly on BOL? I truly believe some channels are giving free air time to some parties for example 92 to TLP and Bol to PSP both these channels have history of soft corner for these parties

Either that or both parties only have enough funds to advertise on 1-2 channels?

I’m not telling Army to do anything. I telling them to not do anything. I’m asking the election Commission to ban these organisations if they don’t drop their extremist narrative. I repeat again, I don’t want Army to do anything.

So, I was criticizing that twitter post which blamed army for TLP. Your being critical of me does not make any sense then.

Then these fanatics could make the whole election process difficult with their anarchism. They are a nuisance which will hopefully pass with time. But for that educational system needs to do a lot better.

Instead of ministry, PTI can offer them whatever assistance possible at federal level to improve Karachi?

That's a very good idea, and I think something MQM would agree on is:
1.) Conduct a new, more fair census.
2.) Help fight against the quota system in Sindh, and thus, give Karachiites equal rights to Sindhis.
3.) Release Karachi's fair share of funds.
4.) Empower local government and mayors.

If PTI promises all that, MQM may give up on ministries.

This countries politics is so messed up. I can't emphasize how badly we need IK or else we will always be stuck in this loop.

I don't see it happening though guys. The local politics/electables are way too strong. IK has some but not enough.

I don't think there are any TLP supporters on PP and Waqar is definitely FAR from being a TLP supporter.

One thing people completely forget is how TLP was formed, this has absolutely nothing to do with Fauj. This happened as a result of Mumtaz Qadri hanging and surely Army was taken in full confidence when he was hanged. People forgot that even Army Chief at that time was abused by these extremists (They are not terrorists which is a different thing).

Then they kind of disappeared until PMLN gave them lifeline by making an amendment they they did not intend to make. If this was made as a matter of principle then even i would stand with them as it was just change in oath which wasn't such a big deal. They ALWAYS knew there would be massive backlash so it was intentional by someone at higher level otherwise i see absolutely NO POINT.

This is why i found it shocking that some people even thought about using Arms against a group that generated sympathies at such a large scale and attacking them would have generated lot more support. The way they dealt with this group was THE BEST possible way.

I agree with you on the point of not using armed force against them. That would be another model town massacre which would have ultimately legitimised their struggle in the eye of a common ban. However distribution of money among them tarnished the neutrality of the army. I’m not saying that the army were directly involved in their formation or the ultimate fiasco its formation led to, but it sure as hell sounds dubious when an institution, whose job is to defend our borders, tells them ke ‘Kia hum aap Kay saath nahi’. I mean seriously?

And the moment you make educational reforms these same fanatics will take up the streets and we’ll be going around the same circle.

Again, there is certain section on media that exaggerated it because this was a massive propaganda point.

I will quote one of most sensible and neutral Wusatullah who said "I don't see anything wrong with giving Rs 1000 as goodwill gesture so they return back home and not repeat same mistake again".
You know all these rebels (Let's use Baloch rebels as example) who at times attack and kill hundreds of innocent people but we have seen countless people not only escaping punishment but they get cash incentives and other perks so they could start new life.
These guys did nothing compared to those rebels, to them they were just trying to protect honour of prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Now we all know prophet's honour was never under threat and it's not that fragile but they do NOT understand that.

it doesnt sound good.It looks like Pti is nto crossing 100.

It's not looking good at all.

Even most analysts on all channels are saying PMLN are still ahead in Punjab.

It might be 90 something seats for PTI overall.

It might be better to sit in opposition.

I did say on several occasions before that it would be very difficult for PTI to come through in Punjab. PMLN have mastered the art of beradari politics.

I always thought this was going to be the case. All we can hope for us that somehow the educated youth will come out in large numbers and vote for change otherwise be ready to see around 90 seats.

Ha ha ha. I think you lack the understanding of Wusatullah khan’s sarcasm. The whole thing might have been a propaganda for you but I think they were already dispersing when they successfully negotiated with the political leadership. The money distribution part was a bit unnecessary. You don’t give incentives to those who by their actions cause pain and misery. Because of their protests ambulances couldn’t operate properly and several people died because of that.

Some much better PTI ads running on some channels (92 & Samaa).

Still Faisal Javed's voice and dialogue delivery still not upto mark, i can come up with better catchy words than what he is using but still good to see highlights of what Imran Khan is capable of.

Very nice song this one "Umeedain tujh se juri"

No i watch that show because of their sarcasm and totally unique style but this one was not sarcasm. Mubashir Zaidi is extremely annoying (liberals ka Mubashar Luqman) but Zarrar and Wusat make up for it.

Well if they think that it’s alright to incentivise killers then I guess we live in a sad world.

So true. I remember Jibran Nasir saying that once he forms a political party and consolidate its position than he’ll hand over the party to the upcoming leadership from grass roots politics and take his retirement.

Manifestos are supposed to be boring, but hey go ahead buy whatever PTI, PML-N or PPP (or whoever you are supporting in these elections), are selling. But out of curiosity, what do YOU want him to offer to you?

He may not end up anywhere, but you have to admire his guts. Speaking about these issues in Pakistan publicly pretty much guarantees your demise, and it will be surprising if he survives for long.

He is raising awareness about the plight of minorities and that is more than what the majority of people are doing.

I want an honest/qualified guy who can steer this country out of economic turmoil. I am not anti Jibran Nasir, but the battle he fighting is not of severe importance to the nation right now. He is fighting for the right things and I commend him and appreciate him over many old timer politicians but right now we need something else.

If Imran Khan can steer this country out of economic turmoil, even Jibran Nasirs of this country will benefit. My only issue is that his Manifesto offers nothing concrete but he can work on that as he is young and learning.

I would much rather see people like him than PPP or PML N but in my opinion he will have zero impact if PML N/ PPP is still in power

Think that's bit of a myth. LUMS, Roots, NUST etc are full of atheists that speak their mind. It's not like he is speaking his mind in the middle of Momund Agency anyway.

However I do admire him.

There is a difference speaking about these issues in colleges and going public. No one knows these students, but everyone interested in Pakistan politics today knows about Jibran Nasir, and he has been noticed by international media as well.

He is clearly a much bigger threat than random students at LUMS or people talking about these issues on social media.

Bro, the economy is badly hurt because of BOTH corruption AND terrorism. Foreign investors are not willing to invest in Pakistan because of corruption AND terrorism. Guess what fuels terrorism? You guessed it right! It’s the extremist mindset! So I don’t know why you think the ‘battle he is fighting is not of severe importance’?

People in Mohmand Agency are not as backward as you think. They have been suffering for decades due to FCR and colonial attitude of Pakistani establishment. Please think twice before passing judgement like this on your fellow Pakistanis.

I was listening to the GS of Fafen (Free and Fair Election Network) and according to him he is not expecting a turnout of more thn 45%.

He also said according to their on ground reports from different constituencies only a maximum of 10% reported that these election are not free and fair while 90% are satisfied.

It is of little importance. Terrorism and extremist mindset is not something that can be fought by telling people "hey don't think like this. this is bad". People believe in results. People change after results. Let Pakistans economy improve, schools improve, hospitals improve and watch how extremist mindset declines.

THIS is what i was saying, there is certain section of media that deliberately exaggerates this to fool their supporters. PPP have spent massively on ads otherwise PMLN ads run on EVERY channel non stop and i have been watching different channels on youtube for hours.

Just watching Samaa tv right now, FAFEN's representative Sarwar Bari went through so many details and summary is "No candidates reported any threats, change of parties is exactly same as every election, these elections much more peaceful than 2013 and overall it is a typical Pakistani election.

If anything, elections reforms have made the process lot better than before. Massive changes to submission of form 14 & 15 (thanks to PTI), he said these forms were deliberately ABUSED in 2013 elections.

But some people are calling these most rigged elections in history

Yes I'm watching this on Samaa too.

I always felt that turnout will be lower than 2013.

It will also depend on rain.

I think Sindh and Balochistan will see the lowest voter turnout in the recent history. While I see an increase of voter turnout in KPK and Punjab compared to the last elections. It’s a pity that we are not having elections in FATA because it had the potential to cause a decisive change between a party forming a coalition government and a party going on the opposition benches.

Let’s talk about it after 5 years. I guess then we’ll have extremism free and developed Pakistan. I’ll hold you answerable for that.

Actually we are having NA elections on all 12 seats of Fata (it's now KP NA1 to NA51) it's just that we will have to wait 1 more year to have provincial assembly elections on 21 new Fata-KP seats. The reason Fata is given 12 seats of instead of 6 based on their population because it is to make up for having no representation in provincial assembly but after provincial assembly elections in Fata next year than from 2023 NA seats of Fata will be limited to 6 only so KP seats will come down to 45 instead of current 51.

Yea i am really worried about turnout because swing voter will stay at home in that case and only committed voter will out to vote for their parties.

if Pakistan improves its economy and education then I guarantee you extremism will die. These things are birth of harsh conditions. There is a reason usually well off individuals are rational thinkers wheres poorer people who are starving are more likely to follow an extreme ideology.

Just watched Geo for 5 minutes, Saleem Safi was doing his MAATAM that we might as well not hold these elections as these are most useless elections in history, there would be anarchy everywhere etc etc

But if custodians of democracy Nawaz Sharif, Zardari, Fazl ur Rehman and Asfandyar form alliance and defeat EVIL PTI then democracy will prevail and our country will become heaven.

I stand corrected. However, the incumbency factor will play a HUGE role after 1 year.

If it doesn’t, will you concede that extremism and terrorism were the bigger issues? By the way was Osama Bin Ladin a battered child of a poor man or was he not the son of a billionaire?

Bin Laden was a leader. They are the decision makers and can be targeted easily. They won't change their minds based on any Jibran Nasir.

What we are more concerned about is the average awaam and general extremism in the country. That is a mindset that needs a shift. Preaching "hey don't be extremist" is as good as them saying "liberals suck".

Yes, if Pakistan becomes a better nation economically and increases its output of college students/better schools and extremism doesn't diminish then I will be wrong.

If the economy is bad you can have a personalized Jibran Nasir whispering in every militants ear and it wont make a difference.

By the way what was Imran’s status in that era.

Imran and Bibi both supported Mush earlier after the take over but Imran left and remained the biggest voice against Mush in parliament and later resigned in 2004. (Imran apologized for his blunder of supporting Mush while Bibi did NRO in 2007)

So let me get this straight. You are telling me is that people like OBL are brains behind terrorist operations whereas it’s the poor people who becomes their instrument of violence. Therefore if I’m not wrong what you are essentially telling me is that we are going to have more terror financiers then the ones who are hands on deck terrorists. And since poverty can never be fully eradicated therefore there will always be terrorists and we’ll only be increasing terror financiers. Great. You see why JN is important? At least he’s doing something about it.

Right guys.

From Dunya news predictions from today.

Habib Akram says PTI will win:

90 seats

Dr Moeen Pirzada says PTI will win:

102 seats (maximum).

Both have been fairly balanced and good in their reasoning.

This is NOT LOOKING GOOD guys.

Imran and Bibi both supported Mush earlier after the take over but Imran left and remained the biggest voice against Mush in parliament and later resigned in 2004. (Imran apologized for his blunder of supporting Mush while Bibi did NRO in 2007)

You see why it is important to not always judge a person through his/her origin story. In principle I agree with you. That’s how I view Nawaz Sharif through that prism. But seriously, sometimes a bit of soul searching can always go a long way.

Salim Safi is the biggest slime ball in Pakistani journalism. Absolutely has it in for Imran Khan.

I always change the channel whenever I see him on Tv.

Ground reality is 65-70 seats. Unfortunately, these polls are overestimating a lot of things. If PTI can get 95 seats, they can form a government

Some people genuinely lack the reasons to support or oppose someone so they make up reasons on the go. The reasons, more often than not, consists of utter garbage and that garbage gets recycled. That’s how myths are created in Pakistan. After all, WhatsApp is the biggest library in Pakistan.

I think we have to be realistic and accept the fact that in all probability Imran will sit in a stronger opposition. He can get alot done if he continues his fight. I will stick to my under 90 seats prediction.

The PPP and the PMLN will form a govt but we will probably see elections again in two years time. Imran has to ensure that they do not change any laws that can favour their corruption. If they try to then get ready for Dharna season two.!!

Hahahaha GREAT question!

Biggest irony is this shameless idiot Hanif Abbasi was at forefront of levelling the chidish accusations against Imran Khan that he is a drug addict and his sister Reham Khan said exactly what he always said and even demanded Imran Khan to provide blood tests. First few things a typical patwari would say about Imran Khan is:

He is yahoodi
He is drug addict
He is zakaat chor

And what is happening today?

Nawaz Sharif and co had to hold milaad mehfils to prove their faith
PMLN senior leader found involved in illegal distribution of drugs
Nawaz Sharif is known as CHOR all over Pakistan

:)

Yes Bro I think Imran might sit in oppostition.

But he really sees this as his last chance to become PM.

Will this desire make him form a hodgepodge hakoomat? I don't know.

I agree that a Dharna Season 2 might be on the cards if he sits in opposition.

As expected, not a word by Imran Khan on the flop metro project in Lahore. Not a world on the billions of rupees that PTI government have wasted.

Yes of course, all blame goes to the Asian Development Bank.

If true, then it another way of manipulating people’s opinions. If any information provided by Dawn News is false then they should be punished through a formal process of justice where the accused must able to defend themselves and where the state can present its own case. Illegally banning one channel sets up a bad president.
