Certain channels will do all it takes to undermine PTI. Different channels reporting different results it seems.

But it isn't. Because if a candidates wins, say, seats A and B, and then keeps seat A whilst giving up seat B, then the (winning) voters in seat B are denied having their chosen candidate represent them in Parliament. And they're told to try again to elect someone else.

That's not democracy. That's giving the top brass candidates in the party more opportunities to win whilst denying other party members the opportunity to even stand (as you'll need to field a lesser number of actual candidates if some are standing in more than one seat). That's like giving the top order batsmen 2nd (or even 3rd) lives (after being given out), at the expense of lower order batsmen as only a max of 10 wickets (lives) in total can fall.

There's now a major controversy where the software election commission is supposed to use has stopped working. The servers are down supposedly.
 
Has any minority (non Muslim, not Shia or any other Muslim sect) candidate won anywhere. I think Hindus have some presence in Sindh and Christians in Punjab. How does it work in Pakistan, are constituencies reserved for minorities or is there any direct nomination?
 
Biggest shocker of the night is the complete wipe out of Mustafa Kamal and PSP. Looks like no seats for them.

Maybe his home is different from others. Just because someone's opinion is different does not mean it's wrong. My only problem was ignoring facts, posting only anti PTI arguments and running away at the first demand of proof or accountability. That is not a trait of a sincere person who has strong convictions in his beliefs, no matter what they may be.

Anyway I'm all for anyone changing beliefs and stances it if it's sincere.

One NA seat has been won by Hindu in Sindh (PPP)
 
Congrats to PTI fans, hope Imran Khan uses his towering influence in cricket circles to push for some Indo-Pak cricket :).
 
The reason why results are delayed is due to the new online upload system via the ECP.

The system has slowed down due tomany results being sent by RO's.

This is why this is going to take another 3 or 4 hours yet.

Expect Imran Khan's victory speech around 4 or 5 am Pakistan time.

There are reserved seats for minorities and women and the candidates for those will be decided later.
 
Some of the British press, such as The Guardian, giving a lot of voice to those claiming the election is rigged. Perhaps they're upset at the thought of Imran Khan being PM.[
 
According to ARY news reporter from Lahore

IK is ahead of Saad Rafique but by a small margin of 2,3K votes.

Says this is still a great result for PMLN and sets up Maryam Nawaz to lead in the future perfectly.

PPP is too strong in Sindh. They are wadera gangsters, like in movie Koyla style gangsters. Own everything around there, suffocating as I type.

I want all PTI candidates to win obviously (perhaps not Dr Mango :yuvi), but Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Faisal Vawda in particular would make some great stories.

ECP now about to go back to old manual system of getting RO's to send results via forms.

Their IT system has broken down.

Expect several hours of delays.

Might as well go to sleep.

why there is talk about voiding the election results? :facepalm: does Pakistanis not know that elections are very expensive and Pakistan is not in good financial health?
