I would love to see IK personally asking ex Nadra Chairman Tariq Malik to come back to Pakistan and run NADRA again. He was a gem but nooras threatened him and his family so much he had to leave his job and country with his family and is now working with UNDP sitting overseas.

He sounds like a whizz, Prime Minister seriously needs to give him a call. Plus he's got a score to settle with the nooras

Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar is a planning and development ministry

He has got two federal ministries?

P&D is one of the biggest ministry because of CPEC. Let see how performs.

Ahsan Iqbal did pretty well

A very honest and intelligent man.

In 2013, after the PML-N swept th elections, he was appointed as the chief of NADRA. There, after months of painstaking digging, he came up with a list of 3.5 million Pakistanis who were not paying any income tax but owned multiple luxury cars, large swathes of land, had hired multiple armed guards and made dozens of trips overseas annually. This list was presented to the Nawaz government but it didn’t go down well with Nawaz and his cronies.

The NADRA chief was dismissed and forced to flee the country due to threats to him and his family members.

That's not his job as P&D. It's the failure of education minister.

As rep of the area, isnt it his job also to raise a voice and fight for his peoples rights. Afterall he managed to get his son on Power company boards although he doesnt even live in PK.

This is some scary stuff and a further proof how PMLN and its 'supporters' are an organized mafia.

It's disgusting that some people still support Zardari-Bhuttos and Shareefs in Pakistan.

Wow, didn't know there were that many from PTI.

Municpal authority of different cities of Punjab have been told their workers not clean the garbage of eid qurbani to malign PTI goverment.

Shameful from pml n. Punjab goverment is a different beast altogether becuause of having Pml n loyalist from grade 1 to grade 21.

Should have had Aleem Khan as CM punjab, he would have sorted everyone out.

I hope IK implements a plan to reduce salaries of parliamentarians. Most of them are already billionaires and do not need a salary from taxpayers money. Obviously there are some who are not so well-to-do, perhaps a salary could be issued based on parliamentarians tax declaration - but then some may start hiding tax. Catch 22 situation.

IK wasn't lying when he was talking about austerity.

2 cars for IK, 1 carrying ministers/aides, 1 jammer car and 3 for security.

The difference should be that 6 days should mean 6 days. Atm the baboos are never there, maybe your experience is different.

baboos are very small percentage of overall govt workers but you are right. the provincial secretariat has a 5 day week. All line departments and operational staff (99% of workers) has 6 day week.

But as the saying goes when the cat is away the mice will play. If the bosses dont do any work, nor will the workers.

The work can be done in 5 days if rules imposed properly

Strict rules need to be imposed, no more lethargic attitude.

Great to know that overseas Pakistanis can vote

Where does one vote? Online? Also is NICOP a sufficient form of ID for voting?

Online voting for overseas

IT capability of Nadra and ECP is well known. I'm not sure how secure this websit will be, and how quickly it has been prepared.

Fan of overseas voting but don't want another RTS fiasco. Postal ballot to embassies or some other secure method should have been planned out.

The seats where people resigned from and the ones where elections didn't happen will have by elections. Imran Khan won from five seats but could only keep one, so by elections will be held on the other four.

That means fazul rehman and others has a chance of winning and making a comeback to assembly? Damm it

Who’s funding Roshan Pakistan? Seems like they’re polling every week.

They were hired by two political parties during general elections, must've made some decent money off that. They also may have been hired for bye-elections too.

I think they also conduct private, non-political surveys, so they must have the money to conduct these polls.

They haven't disclosed which parties. They just said that it was one of the big three parties, as well as one of the smaller ones.

PTI & AML no doubt. Sheikhu spreading the wealth.

Jokes aside I think they should stop politicians polling from multi seats. By-Elections can't be cheap to run & also makes a mockery of parliament with all the seat adjustment etc.

Btw Let history books show IK broke records by winning 5/5. Even the great Benazir wasn't able to achieve that. Must be the reason why she allegedly coined the term the lion of Lahore for him. IK has obliterated any argument that she was the most electable Pakistani. He's pulled in bigger crowds, he whooped Ghulam Ahmed Bilour in NA-1 and now he's clean bowled all his seats. May she rest in peace.

Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on Saturday appointed PML-N's Raja Zafarul Haq leader of the opposition in the Upper House, according to a notification issued by the Senate Secretariat.

Haq replaced PPP Senator Sherry Rehman with effect from Aug 24, according to the notification. Haq, who previously served as leader of the house, was replaced by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Senator Shibli Faraz on Aug 24.

Haq had been a contender for the election of Senate chairman against Sadiq Sanjrani earlier this year but lost by 11 votes.

Rehman tweeted her congratulations to both Faraz and Haq on Sunday. "I hope they both remember the best service to democracy lies in serving public interests via legislation, debate, good governance and parliamentary probity."

The PML-N sought to replace Rehman days after the election for prime minister in the National Assembly. The PPP had withdrawn its support for PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif during the election, abstaining from voting ─ a move that caused a rift in the opposition parties' alliance.

The PPP and PML-N are currently embroiled in a tussle over nominating a suitable candidate for the post of president. The PPP had earlier nominated Aitzaz Ahsan as its candidate and attempted to convince other opposition parties in the 11-party Pakistan Alliance for Free and Fair Elections to support him.

The opposition parties at a meeting in Murree yesterday had rejected Ahsan as a candidate, but said they were ready to back a candidate other than him.

The alliance is set to announce its presidential candidate today. The nominee will be in the running for the post against PTI's Arif Alvi.

That means fazul rehman and others has a chance of winning and making a comeback to assembly? Damm it

Well according to this he decided not to run in by elections.

These voting rights and ways to vote should also be provided to people that are working in major economic hubs outside their own halkas. Our family car driver was telling me around 40-50% of the men in his village in kpk are working in other cities it is the same for many people in other villages nearby. They cant afford or are unable to leave work to go home and vote add that to family restrictions on women from voting and you get 25-30% voter out of eligible voters.

My support for this initiative is very much dependent on whether your driver is pro or anti Imran Khan. We've got a 2/3 majority there, can't let that be affected.

But nonsense aside, totally agree. But need stringent security to ensure there's no voter fraud, especially since it was mentioned that the Nooras had been in contact with Cambridge Analytics. They're wisening up to the new world, patwaris

Postal ballot can be opened up for private workers maybe.

The All Party Corruption ALLIANCE is just desperate these days for a return to the good old days where the poor paid for their extravagance and luxury.

Hopefully this news is not true

Khawar Maneka refused to stop his car and DPO pakpattan has been transfered. It's trending on twitter. Nothing can be hidden these days so its better to take prudent decision,

If true, heads must roll. IK won't tolerate this. He didn't tolerate nonsense from Reham Khan and her son, so definitely won't tolerate it from an ex through marriage.

Btw when I say heads must roll I don't mean in the Ayan Ali/Zardari/Customs agent type of way. Then again, IK and PTI have come in to put a stop to that sort of thing.

More detailed version is being described by Amir Mateen

Pretty disgusting to abuse the power.

Are we certain Bushra Imran is behind the incident? I mean the Maneka family is an old political family who have been in politics since the 50s I think. Atta Maneka was a minister in the previous government and we have sitting MNAs and MPAs from the family. The Maneka have been with the Muslim Leagues since day one of I remember correctly so it wouldn't be surprising if they have strong ties everywhere including with the CM Buzdar.

That's not to say that this is excusable.

I say we hold our horses. Weren't they one of the reasons the nooras won a seat in 2013 by getting the Maneka's onside.

We seem to be short on facts and high on rumour &a conjecture. "They say the call came from the PM's house" sounds ridiculously dramatic and sells any story.

Well it didn't

He is transferred and nothing has changed

Lets see, the public exposure of this has already brought into focus abuse of power. I think that although in the short term its caused embarrassment for IK but in the long term it will be great for the country.

If true, it will be a new low for Pakistani women. Is there a single one who is worthy of IK? Yet if he was to divorce again off the back of this being true they'd say he's the problem. It's a disgrace. Didn't get any of this with Jemima. They're gonna say oh look, he's chosen poorly again, but you can't legislate for a new wife suddenly deciding to make a phone call to have a police officer transferred.

I say we here on PP make a poll and choose a new Pakistani wife for Imran Khan who won't embarrass him like this.

All dependent on it being true of course.
