Improving wicket (s) could be the biggest challenge, if BPL is arranged in NOV (which'll be the case as this is the safest slot in between IPL & future ECB League). Our rainy season ends as late as end October and the climate is changing - it showering most in AUG-SEP, instead of July these days, which makes it impossible to prepare good T20 wickets. Compared to Dhaka Test (against AUS), what they did for wickets & out field in a month is remarkable. Our wicket gets better after January, and by March those are best batting wickets, but that time arranging BPL is too risky. After first few seasons in JAN-FEB, they have shifted it to November, which I think is the best time, therefore only solution for better wicket could be drop-in wickets, which they do have a plan, but that needs lots of infrastructural developments (not sure, in Dhaka you can drive through a 23 metre long & 4 metre wide lorry!!!!!!!)
The 2nd qualifier had very little issues - as per tournament rules, they could have awarded the match to CV and it would have been acceptable. But, that would have been cruel (& we won't have seen 2 master classes by Mac & CG) - CV & Tamim accepted the change & I am sure Mash would have done so, had he been in same position of CV (he led them last year, I believe).
I am sure, in couple of years time, apart from IPL, every such league will go to PAYP payment mood - I explained why, in another thread. This is the only way to keep top starts involved in a cluttered cricket season, without DEEP pockets.
Management has to improve, so is broadcasting quality for sure.
