Ravindra Jadeja vs Moeen Ali : Who is the better all-rounder?

Moeen has massively improved since his debut. Whereas Jadeja seems to have regressed.

The correct question should be is Moen Ali a better spinner than Ashwin outside India. Ali seems to take a lot of wickets if the pitch has turn, Ashwin is able to do that only in India.

Moeen Ali has out performed Jadeja by miles.

Interesting.

People like Ashwin and Jadeja are always judged on tough foreign tours.

Moeen as a bowler failed on his tour to India (avg of 65), SA (49) and Australia (avg of 115).

As a batsman he has failed in Australia (avg of 19) and SA (29) and is currently averaging around 5 in Sri Lanka.

Its interesting that all it took Moeen to leave Jadeja "miles" behind is just a few tailender wickets in Sri Lanka.

Moeen Ali's numbers as an "all-arounder" are worse than Hardik Pandya's.

That will be all. Thank you.

Nice cherry-picking. Please come back when Jadeja scores two centuries in England, takes an 8 wicket-haul in New Zealand (equivalent of Sri Lanka) or literally anything outside Asia.

Don't know why you're even mentioning Ashwin who got his butt kicked by Moeen in England. Jadeja is not as good as Moeen obviously but I'd take him over Ashwin as an all-rounder and as a pure bowler.

Then you should also have Hardik Pandya in your team. It would seem that you are stuck between a rock and a hard place, Bilal. Either you have to admit that Hardik is a great AR or you have to admit that Mo Ali is an overrated AR. :misbah

I'd love to see how you get out of this after your recent "India is fortunate to not play Pak in the last few years" debale. :ashwin

And btw, Jadeja has 3 5wh in a match in SENA and two 50s. And he has only played 8 tests in SENA.

Before this SL series, Moeen had only 1 instance of getting 5 wickets in an away match.

Now I know what you will say. Mooen is not a bowling-AR.

Which brings me to Mo's avg on tours to IND, AUS, SA, NZ, UAE and SL - a paltry 23 which is 5 runs less than Jadeja's avg in SENA. So much for that, then.

So it would appear that as usual, you were too lazy to even check the numbers before speaking your mind.

I think you've got your numbers mixed up again, Jadeja has only taken 1 five-wicket haul in the aforementioned countries, which was at Durban in 2013.

For what it's worth, I think Jadeja is arguably a better cricketer than Moeen Ali.

Edit: You meant 5 wickets in a match, apologies.

No I said 5 wickets in a match. Not innings. There's 3 of them, one in SA, and 2 in Eng (2014 & 2018). I set the same criteria for Moeen Ali too. Because he doens't have any 5fers in an innings (away). So I went with match hauls.

No comparison in recent times.

Moeen is better

Moeen has outplayed Jadeja both in batting and bowling. 2 years ago I would've said different

No competition. Moeen all the way. Jadeja has made a career by playing on doctored pitches of India. As a spinner u don't need to do anything on those wickets. U just need to drop the ball on wicket and the pitch will do the rest of the job. Overall Maeen is a better spinner.

Aa for batting, Moeen wipes the floor with Jadeja. He's a proper batsman while Jadeja is a tailender.

If Jadeja played for BD, he would be a living legend there, the greatest player to have ever played for BD. He's twice the bowler than current greatest ever BD bowler and only a notch below as a batsman indicated by a mere 16 point difference between them on all rounder rankings.

Refer ICC player rankings for further details. Or the scorecard of the last Ind-BD test.
