The start of Day 2 was delayed due to overnight rain which resulted in water seeping onto the pitch. The umpires conducted frequent inspections but with cloud cover obscuring the sunlight, it took time for the pitch to dry up. Play finally began, four hours after the scheduled start with Abbas and Amir bowling with the one over old new ball. Bishoo was solid in defence while Holder went for his shots whenever he saw an opportunity to do so. It was in the eight over of the day that Amir finally broke through, getting Bishoo caught behind as he went for an extravagant drive off a full, widish delivery and was caught behind. Holder, realising that he was running out of partners went after Abbas, bringing up his fifty with a lofted drive for six. Amir came around the wicket in his next over and the move worked as he got one to swerve in and beat Joseph's defence to get his first five-fer since Lord's 2010. Only 10 more deliveries were bowled before rain returned in the form of a heavy downpour, which, combined with the low visibility soon ensured play was called off for the day with West Indies at 278/9.

Fall of wickets:

8-264 (Bishoo, 88.5 ov)
9-274 (Joseph, 90.5 ov)

Amir has been brilliant in this test match, finally getting a 5 wicket haul but can he keep it up?!

Must start batting ASAP and get around 500 to have a chance of winning this match.

Could be an innings defeat for us if it continues to start stop rain when we bat
