ICC cancels Champions Trophy tour in 3 cities in POK day after Pak board's announcement
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has cancelled the tour of the Champions Trophy in the in cities Skardu, Hunza and Mazafarabad which fall in the territory of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK). Notably, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had announced a nationwide trophy tour of the Champions Trophy from November 16 to 24.
The eight-team tournament is set to be held in Pakistan in February-March 2025 and to build up for the cricketing extravaganza, the PCB had organized the trophy tour. However, India Today has learnt that the trophy tour has been cancelled in the cities falling under the disputed land of the Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK).
The Indian cricket board has raised its concerns with the International Cricket Council over Pakistan's plan to host the Champions Trophy tour in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). ICC sources have told India Today that it would announce plans for the trophy tour soon.
