UNBELIEVABLE..................I felt so bad for South Africans man..............None of them will forget this match in their lives.

Andrew Hall was saving grace for SA.
1 Wickets and only 79 runs.
Therefore while th inngs closed at a run rate for 8.69, Hall kept the economy rate down from being worse by bowling at a meagre 7.9 runs.

see this is what you get after calling aussies chokers in big match situations greame smith........get him out of the team, such a big mouth he is!!!

All Assie batsmen had SR of over 100 except Katich who only had SR of 88 (not good enough, they should drop him!!! ;-))

perhaps they should bowl under arm ;-)
no run :O:O

hey cavin

through this thread i would like to pass my deepest condolence to all those south african fans .

hearts and records are meant to be broken

i thereby pronounce ponting and hussey guilty of crimes against south african pysche.Ponting has 9 counts of murder and 13 cases of GBH.Hussey has committed 9 counts of GBH and 4 murders. Both men have showed utter disdain and contempt to south african mental and physical well being.they refused to show mercy and sympathy for their beaten opponents.very shameful stuff.

i have no choice but to sentence them to life imprisonment

hey yoo!

well true that...poor souls must have paid alot of money to come n watch the game.....only for a complete aussie massacre which awaited them...

Absolute massacre ... the saffies didn't have pollock ... he could have restricted about 30 runs and saved a bit of a humiliation ...

the look on graeme smith's face -- PRICELESS !!! :P

Interviewer: so your closing thoughts on Ponting?
Kallis: Well it was my bowling vrsus his batting. It was a hard fought contest but i got his wicket in the end so moral victory to me.

Interviewer: Uh.. he scored 160+ and was taking more than 11 runs of your overs.
Kallis: These things happen. The point is, who had him truding off to the dressing room? ME Imagine how crushed Australia feel.

Interviwer: But they ended up with 400+.
Kallis: So what. If you put it into perspective, thats just 250 runs more than 150.

Interviewer: Ooookay! So what is your gameplan when you go out and bat.
Kallis: I'll play m natural game and give them as good as they gave us. Hopefully Smith will get us off to a flier and i'll drop anchor in that case. If we lose wickets early on, i'll drop anchor and let the lower order hitters take ovr. And if we lose all our batsman, I'll drop anchor and give the australians a gritty and long innings they'll never forget.

Interviewer: What about playin fast?
Kallis: Woah there! Dont underestimate the usefulness of a good 50 of 110 balls when chasing a score of 400. Its all about perspective. A 50 of 100 balls could be a 100 of 50 balls on the right day.

Interviwer: So you might play 100 of 50 balls type innings?
Kallis: No i was talking about gibbs. Im playing 50 of 100.

Scoring 434 - great
Winning the series after being 2-0 down - amazing
the look on Graeme smith's face - Priceless

:)))

I dont think SAF will get too many runs here.

Basically you have to go out there and start smashing it around from the outset.

I think we'll see plenty of wickets early and this match will be over sooner rather than later

Well played Australia!

I still cant believe they got more than 400!!!!!!

Australians are having Something with the Johanneshburg Pitch..........previously in the WC2003 final Aus 359 runs........now Aus 434......

Real Champions!!! :14: :14: :14:

good start by saffies...
66 for 1...........gibbs and smith playing aggressivly.........
9 overs and 71.................for 1

same stage aussies were 48 for 0 wickets

saffies only need to score 258 too break another record.....the most runs scored in a match..which was set by pak vs india when pak were chasing that 350 odd total...

i am not sure whether i am watching ahighlights or a match ?

Jesus christ. They're going for it. Smith hitting back to back boundaries thisover. 138/1 off 17

They only played 49.6 overs (according to cricinfo). Did they declare :D

South Africa fighting back real hard! Brilliant stuff by Smith 88 from 52 balls! Gibbs is playing too slow for my liking. If Gibbs gets going man its gonna be one hell of a party :27:

im gonna throw up i the saffies win this, and we all know what kemp and Boucher can do, i wonder how fast Kallis is gonna bat

i have a bad feeling saeeds record will be broken by gibbs.

i hope im wrong.

south africa going down fighting.this is crazy stuff

man you have to hand it to south africa , i dont care about the result , they have taken away the pschological advantage right back from australia.
aree.. , now where is my condolance speech for aussies fans !

25.2 Clark to Gibbs, FOUR!!, pithces it up, Gibbs stands there and hammers it to extra cover, finds the gap through four fielders!

25.5 Clark to Gibbs, FOUR!!, stands there and slashes it to sweeper cover, what a shot as Gibss makes room and frees his arms!!

25.6 Clark to Gibbs, FOUR!!, comes down the track to hammer it over cover, outside edge runs down to third man, fortune favours the brave!

***...Just got into work and saw the scorecard.
Thank goodness my dad is taping the game.

That score is just insane. The Aussie really know how to turn it on when it matters. This team is by far the best in the world.

A dolly at midon,

26.5 Lewis to Gibbs, no run, full toss, Gibbs hits it straight to Bracken at mid off and a sitter is dropped! in 1999, Gibbs dropped the trophy, could Bracken have dropped it here :) !!
