I agree, it would be okay to praise him if he was 18 but at 25 he should have improved and developed how to play straight and not just be a one trick pony only employing shots square of the wicket.

Couldnt have put it better myself you cannot survive in international cricket on cut shot and pull shot alone. You need to know how to play straight for starters, if he has not learnt that up untill the age of 25 then you have no place in national side.
