Can Pakistan recover to even the series ?

Yes, Inshallah. But we need a full out effort here, its our last until the Grand Slam. We cant leave on a low note.

Sriram Veera isn't the one mauling the keyboard today. I'm George Binoy and I'll bring you the drama as it unfolds at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. It's the last international match for both teams before the World Cup, hopefully Pakistan will come out firing and South Africa will match them and we can all enjoy a cracking contest. Or am I asking for too much?

7 out of last 9 odis on ground have seen team batting 1st wrack up 290+
 
inshallah pakistan win and draw series make duaa brother we need pakistan to hold it togther
 
Joberg has the fastest outfield in the world and the ground isn't big either so anything below 300 would be below par. If Pakistan is to win then Razzaq and Nazir have to contribute significantly.

Finally a lineup that has a decent opening pair and enough pace bowling. I think if we replace Rao with Gul and Rana with Kaneria/Shoaib it will be our lineup against WI.
 
Asif is playing......is he superman or what...........why was he not rested surely the World Cup is more important than this series or is it???

Oh my... That is an awful record! Jo'burg is a sub-continental sort of ground with extremely flat tracks. Yet we have failed to here even a single time!

good team selection, not a good bowling attack, but im glad that they r playing with 2 openers this time. lets see what they can do
 
psyche or tripe....I wonder which one they used......The fact he looks tired, is carrying a injury and needs rest.....must be all the reason to save him for the World Cup!!

Was thinking/hoping Asif would be rested. However - lets face it - if he was that badly injured he would not be playing - so relax - Im sure he's fine. Come on Pakistan - show some fight today and go back to Pakistan with some pride.
 
Hafeez gone. Gets a tickle to a ball going away from him. Horrible start for Pakistan - 0/1

it's a good batting pitch. A new ball tends to swing early on.... our openers need to be able to play it!!
 
Every ball was just leaving the batsman slightly ( a bit of away swing) - I could see it - shame Hafeez couldnt!
 
Usual fantastic start from pakistan!

Younis khan might as well escort the openers out to bat at start of inns, or even open!

i think we should send asif and kaneria to open... its just our luck in opening, if they get out, no worries

spread bet stats on Nazirs mode of dismissal puts Lbw as favourite, miscued pull across the line to mid-wicket as the next best and cuaght behind as the 3rd. Favourite score when he is out is 8-13 then 16-21 and 24-31.
 
Nazir doing a good job here.. taking single of pollock...
Looking for singles is the key in the early overs.
 
pitch looks flat...but pollock getting something out of it as always...

Everyone knows he is good square of the wicket but it seems since his debut he still has not learned how to play straight hence he is a huge candidate for lbw's also he plays across the line far too many times.
 
there are two option for playing against Pollock..

1. Play him out and take many singles..

2. come down the track and make him bowl bad deliveris.
