Only sanga and freddie have made it into double figures.

Surley there must be changes for the next ODI. I just hope Afridi and Shoaib play all 3 games.

i hope they don't play the 2games that r reamaining. bcz it would mess up shoaib bowling average going for 60 and 70runs without wicket. and Afridi batting average scoring 0and1. they would really be better off if they stay out of the remaining games.

Sehwag, Lara, Kallis, Dravid, Pietersen and Afridi have all flopped big time.


I think Sehwag, Afridi or Pietersen, one of these will be dropped

Inzy's exclusion looks more baffling. KALLIS and DRAVID!!! It was always a biased decision.
 
What is happening here is a near replica of what happened in the first match of the Afro Asian series .Africa XI were all out for 198 and Asian XI collapsed completely inspite of Sangakkara and Shewag made 50 for 1 in 10 0vers .In that series also Sangakkara played extremely well and stayed at the crease for a longer time .The second match of that series was won by Asia XI due to the wonderful partnership of M .Jayawardene and Sangakkara .Let us hope World XI does well in the next match .All the advantage that the bowlers gave were lost by these 'world class' batting order .

In the Afro-Asian Series Shewag scored 64 runs in 3 matches and Afridi scored 19 runs in 3 matches and had just 2 wickets to his credit .

Let us not jump in to hasty conclusions with just one match . Except for Sangakkara , the entire batting order failed . Was the picth so deadly that they were unable to score at 5 runs per over or were they so complacent thinking that they have a big batting line up that they did not mind throwing up their wicket .
 
Promising stuff from Flintoff there, he had to go for the risky hits in this match but he looks in good touch and if he can maintain that then prehaps he'll do better with the bat than I initially thought he would.
 
40.6 Symonds to Akhtar, SIX!!, this was better that the previous one, pitched up on the stumps, gets down on his knees and smashes it over mid wicket, big clean hit!! 40.5 Symonds to Akhtar, FOUR!!, pitched short, Akhtar gets back quickly and launches it over to deep square leg, excellent placement there!

Good on Gavaskar and Co. for not selecting Inzi and putting Sehwag in, when he can barely hold his place in the Indian ODI team

BTW, Dravid and Kallis should not play in the same team as they play like "Snails on an Energy Drink" i.e. they barely can score quick enough in ODIs

Go Aussies go, whupp the World XI in all three games

The selection of Dravid is baffling. Not very often would you expect a player like Dravid needed to bolster the top and middle-oder of a World XI, but today was the day and he failed.
 
And selection of Sehwag over Gayle is such a good move...Sehwag is barely holding his place in the Indian team and has a crappy ODI record aginst Aussies

BTW, when Shane Watson gets man of the match...that says a lot about the so-called batting strength of this team. He can barely take wickets at Int'l level and here he gets wickets like there was some christmas party going on with santa passing along the 'Wickets' as gifts

Hey but ICC is generating all those revenues through television rights and all...that's all they care for

By all accounts, stadium was almost empty, good on them

Sehwag, Dravid, Pieterson, even Pollock (He is not a very penetrative bowler any more) didn't deserve to be there

Inzi, Vaas, Gayle, and Fleming (don't rate him much personally though) deserved to be in the team...But due to the personal bias of those retarded selectors:12:

You know I saw that scorecard today and thought boy do they need Inzi there! I don't know whats going on with this selection. I mean imagine if I said to you that there is a player, avaerages 32, struggling to keep his place in his own country odi side, has had a miserable time with the bat for the past 3-4 months and he has all of a sudden been selected for the world xi side, you would probably laugh in my face wouldn't you? And there is a guy who is averaging over 60 and is in probably the best form of his life and he has not been selected, wouldn't you laugh at that? And please don't give me this rubbish that how can someone be selected for the openers position if there a middle order bat because I can name many openers who are 500% better than Sehwag in odis of the top of my head (Fleming, Gayle, Smith, Jasuriya to name a few). In this form Sehwag doesn't warrent a place in the Indian clown team never mind a world xi. Hey maybe Gavasker wanted the world xi to ressemble India, thats why he filled it with clowns!
 
i thinki the reason they actially chose him was becuase he can also bowl a little too and, just like afridi, a pure match winner..

by having two quality match winners there is a higher probability winning beacusse it would most likely be that one of them would score every match.. however obviously the 1st match didnt prove that though

He hasn't won a match for his own team, in ODIs, for a while but he was supposed to do it against Aussies in Australia, where he averages 15-17 in ODIs, I think:12:
