258 is the target and Pakistan seem to have a mountain to climb here. Can they do it?
 
No, we can't. It will be impossible against Afghan bowling line up. But sure, a man can hope. Like we hoped Afghan cant reach 250 but they did.
 
258 on this pitch and ground is like chasing 350 odd in good batting conditions. Pakistan does not have the ability, sorry.
 
It will be a hard chase.

Afganistan are the favorites here.

What an innings by them. Hopefully Pakistani fielders will learn an unforgettable lesson tonight :yk
 
Inshallah they can do it. It might go down to Haris and Nawaz taking us over the line. Which would be good, and interesting in how that would affect selections for the upcoming matches.
 
Lol at calling this rubbish Shinwari as World class Bowler and few posters were so arrogant that they went ahead and said he will run through Indian line up. This is the first tournament I saw him bowling and he's one brainless malfunctioned robot. Rohit in the previous match and the Afg batters in this match just toyed with him. The debutant Afridi lad looked like a better thinking bowler than this good-for-nothing pacer. But I would want to see him play next match against India and enjoy Rohit tonking him across all corners of the park. Bring it on the so called 'world's best Bowling attack'. :tahir2
 
Oh and we also have Haris great player of spin so yeah not worried we’re gonna chase this down.

The new super power in Asia. Must say if their batting matur s they’ll be so hard to beat with them two special spinners, add a good proper pace bowler who bowls 90mph. Even on good batting highways of India, if afghan get 280+ it will be hard to chase.
 
Either Pakistan will win it or it will be a 100+ run defeat for Pakistan.

Ideally our 4 main pacers should be Amir, Shaheen, Hasan, and Junaid.
 
80-20 in favor of AFG I would say. Someone on the commentary team mentioned score of more than 250 hasn't been chased on this ground for the last 2-3 years. Also no has even scored 200 against AFG while chasing on this ground. Aamir Sohail's response to his co-commentator on hearing this stat was don't make me nervous :P
 
It would be criminal if garbage like UKS plays the next match
 
I doubt that. Hoping to be proven wrong. But a performance like this is too demoralizing and we don't really deserve to win. Pathetic fielding, schoolboy errors from bowlers, and weird to nothing tactics.
Our team doesn't learn unless they hit the ground hard enough.
 
Why is everyone's morale so down. We got this guys. If we play 50 overs, there is no chance we are not getting this. Cmon cheer up
 
I know an Afghan at work he was confident about beating both BD and Pak but he hates pak, no issues with BD. Tells me stuffs can’t say.

Well they’ve not beaten BD they’ve destroyed our B side. Lets see if the full Pakistan side can chase this target. Good luck against Mujeebur ‘The Hero’ Rahman (what a name), and Rashid ‘The Jadugar’ Khan.
 
PAK have the capability to win this but I can tell from the body language and performance in the field that they don't believe they can do it.

People are acting like Mcgrath and Warne are bowling with addition of Lee and Gillespie and Pakistan are chasing against an ATG Australia.

For a side that considers itself the Champions (albeit Champions Trophy win), surely winning against Afghanistan should be ridiculously easy.
 
Looking at the scorecard, it seems only Afridi bowled well.

This could be very interesting chase now.

Look at the body language of these guys. It seems like they have already lost even before getting out there on the pitch. Plus we will be starting with one wicket down anyway, Imam won’t do anything tonight. I’m fuming with the decision of dropping Faheem Ashraf today with this garbage. Unbelievable incompetence.
 
Fakhar needs to click here. A quick fire 50 and a matured innings from Babar and Sarfraz can see Pak home.
 
Time for imam and babar to show they can score runs against lesser teams as per usual.
 
If PAK is to win this game, first 15 overs have to fetch 100+. It's impossible to chase at 5+ in Abu Dhabi

For every Mujeeb, there is a Rashid. Rashid will sacrifice his figures and save us from Mujeeb.
 
Afghans may well have posted a score beyond our reach...It looks very diffcult given that we 've got to play 30 overs of spin
 
I think we'll win this. Afghanistan mistimed this, they could have got a lot bigger total if they started to accelerate a bit earlier.

It's only a 260 or so score here. It's not 300. If we keep wickets in hand we should chase it, Run rate shouldn't be an issue.

Let's see if specialist captain can score today.He should be first to be dropped along with his buddies. Useless player.

Yeah no team has chased over 230 in a while, but Pakistan is the only team that has chased scores above 250 on this ground before. We’ve done it three times almost four against NZ we were chasing 300 in 2014 we came up 7 runs short so we can certainly do it!
 
Should be an easy chase for Pakistan , playing a minnow here so need to put them under pressure

Aftab Alam will make the ball swing early on with his dibbly dobbly medium pacers, early on. New ball always swings under lights in Abu Dhabi.
 
I was a little angry before but now I can't stop laughing.

The good thing is, the world cup isn't being played in Abu Dhabi.
 
I can't see us chasing this. I really hope I am wrong. We have had issues against leg spin and we are facing 1 of the best LO leggies in the world.
 
I back Pakistan to chase this but should be a nailbiter, Shoaib Malik will play a big role.

Not really this Abu Dhabi you can’t come out all guns blazing you need to get in. I’m not saying bat at a strike rate of 50, just don’t take unnecessary risks, look to go at a run a ball. Which he has done many times his CT fifty and hundred are example of this as are his innings in NZ.
