Real talk, he's a workhorse with the bowl as well. Our other potential realistic spin options (Shadab, Kashif, Zafar, Nawaz) are either uncapped or inexperienced.

Yasir should be the second spinner, but noway does he go on any overseas tours anymore.

I agree with you but i do not agree when you said 10 came in garbage time. Did you say the same thing when Babar scored 100 in the last game? Common if he does not score 100 we would be our below 150..give credit where is due.

He has a role to play on turners, especially day 4 and 5. May not be the best anymore, but we don't have others.

Actually this is what I wrote earlier in the FAB 5 topic.

Babar has to be supported by his teammates even to be considered a part of the elite when it comes to Test cricket. He has done well this tour but sadly all of his runs have come in "Garbage Time" with no meaningful impact to the result whatsoever.

It is certainly not his fault that his team has already lost the match by the end of 2nd session of the first day but you have to have meaningful, memorable knocks that touches your supporters/opponents emotionally to be considered elite. (even if you lose in the end)

One spinner going at 5 an over is one thing, 2 spinners going at 5 an over is utter destruction.

I am looking at Yasir Shah as a good all-rounder option now! His innings against Australia was no fluke and on Pakistan pitches should do well as a batsmen and more than a useful bowling option.

Without a doubt he has taken 206 wickets in 36 matches at a SR of 55.

In Asian conditions Yasir Shah is near on unplayable at times, however like many people are saying is that we need to develop an overseas spinner.

I would most definitely like to see Yasir play in Asian pitches for the next 3-4 years.

UAE wickets are more spin friendly compared to Pakistani wickets. A lot of bowling averages are going to be exposed with the revival of international cricket in Pakistan

Keep Harris Sohail as bowler, he took two wickets in Brisbane , although a big failure in batting and keep Shah for his batting, but don;t expect him to take wickets, because he won't.

Drop both of them and try new players.

Don't think Abbas is done and dusted. He needs to be persisted with.

Correction: only UAE conditions now.

He will get a phainta against SL in Pakistani conditions. Pakistani conditions don't suit him.

I think Zaffer should play as premier Spinner and Shadab should play as all rounder and three fast bowlers (Shaheen, Naseem and Junaid Khan/Shinwari. Yasir is 33 + his records will be damaged if continued and he is not the same bowler anymore.

If Pak prepares flat batting wickets that don't break up over time, not only Yasir but our other bowlers will also be toothless.

You got to be careful though, those were past performances, seems clueless and regressed as a bowler as a lot of others have pointed out. Some fans are expecting that all Yasir needs to do is roll up on Asian pitches and he's going to get 5fers galore is a lazy way of looking at things. You need to consider other factors such as current form.

Plus other teams actually do their homework and he might not be as successful this time. SL will certainly analyse things unlike Misbah who brought IK snr and Yasir to bowl in Australia.

Even after receiving a phainty, you can't beat that smile though.

Mohammad asghar and zafar gohar are much better spin options.
Haris Sohail is also another option as an all rounder, if he gets selected.
unless u want yasir purely for his batting, he should not be in the team.

Realistically, yasir will not be dropped though , even if he did not make this 100.
There are plenty of spin options, yasir shah has been a run machine with the ball, even in UAE at times, forgrt overseas.
