Sohail Tanvir - When will the torture end?

What do you mean by "only four overs"?
A bowler has to bowl 4 overs in T20 cricket but those four overs are bowled at full pelt. The bowler has to put his maximum in those four overs. Hence,you have to be extremely fit to play all the formats. And we all know that Irfan isn't very blessed with fitness.

Irfan should play the T20 World Cup in 2014 and then play only important T20I matches.
He should continue as our strike bowler in Tests and ODIs. And he must be rested in dead rubbers.
 
Tanvir averages 22.5 in T20's since 2012 with a wicket a game. Junaid, Bhatti and Irfan are far off the pace. His economy is under 7, while Junaid's is over 9 (since 2012). He can bat better than any of the aforementioned players.
 
Hasn't been too bad recently. Needs to control his line and length before unleaashing his bag of tricks.
 
Tool kit faced some epic phainty today from Amla and van Zy in Ram Slam T20. 46/0 in 4 overs and a golden duck in batting :)))
 
In the current ram slam season,Tool Kit has done the following

- 5 games, 1 wicket, average of 148, economy of 8.9

Consistent with what he has been through his career


The novelty of his action gets people the first time but once they work him out he gets destroyed

For Pakistan's sake I hope he doesn't go to the world t20
 
Drop him like a concrete block. We got rid of Jade Dernbach and this Tanvir is even worse!

Hammad is more batsman than bowler

Kamran is a spinner


For the world t20 id have the following pacers In the squad

1. Gul
2. Arafat
3. Junaid
4. Irfan

And Bhatti if we can fill him in

2.Shahzaib Hasan
3.Sohaib Maqsood
4.Mohammad Hafeez (c)
5.Umar Akmal (wk)
6.Misbah Ul Haq
7.Shahid Afridi
8.Bilawal Bhatti

11.Saeed Ajmal
 
He's a good T20 bowler and also handy with the bat, but this is the only format he can play.

In ODIs, he's a liability after his first spell with the new ball.
 
You obviously havent watched the Ram Slam T20. Firstly Tanvir has only played 4 matches. The tracks are highways, and in 2 of the 4 matches the Lions only took 1 opposition wicket. In the most recent match, he bowled very well and deserved atleast 2-3 wickets. Edges and mishits were going for 4. Their captain also dropped a catch after Tanvir was dominating Miller. Only international performances count though, and in the last two T20I's he has played, he took two wickets in the 1st match and scored 41 in the 2nd match.

He is rubbish and an absolute joke in the field.

Time to move on brings nothing to the table so we should test some of the new kids they can't do any worse than *****.
 
It is just a warmup, who really cares? Every other bowler had played in the Asia Cup. Look at Babar and Tanvir, both were rusty.

Bumping this thread after such a minor thing really diminishes the significance of this thread.

I predicted he would get selected ahead of Junaid and he did Okayish.
 
Against a team like Bangladesh Tanvir looked average at best. Can't believe he got selected after he showed how rusty he was against NZ in the warm ups. Doesn't even matter if he's a better batsman than Junaid, we haven't seen the number 8 batsman do anything in any of Pakistan's matches, didn't need to
 
Told you many times he's our best new ball bowler and better than Junaid.
 
Another peach. Only guy in the setup who has a clue about swinging the new ball.
 
When he gets swing and a bit of bounce, he's still fairly dangerous. Nice spell here.
 
Is he good enough in T20Is? or should never picked for selection from any format?
 
A decent new ball bowler better than Junaid and Gul but he's tripe with the older ball just turns into cannon fodder. A very poor mans Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Has the knack of bowling some corkers but he's a complete liability with the old ball. I'd have him as a T20 specialist.

since the two new ball rule Junaid averages 25 in the fist 10 overs and tanvir averages 40

Just because he gets some swing doesn't make him better, he is crap player who at best gives you the rare decent t20 performance with the ball .

Is in the best form of his life.

Just got a MOTM for his batting and bowling.

Bowled brilliantly with new ball. Swung both ways and then yorkers and slower balls at death.

Hit the winnings runs too.

Of course he is which is a bit of a shame because he's average himself.

Should have been selected in the ODI squad for SL ahead of Younis. Not only a better bowler but also a better batsman.

Its funny people object Younis Khan's inclusion in ODI team but they want failures like Malik and Tanvir to be selected again and again

isn't Tanvir the only Pakistani player in the on going CPL who is performing really well :yk2
also Malik is regaining some momentum and form, but I would wait on him to show more :misbah

YK too performed well during Pakistan Domestic T20. He was top run scorer.


PS: I am not in favour of YK in ODIs. He is pathetic player just like Useless Malik, Kamran and Tool Kit Tanvir
 
:sohail is a far better option for ODIs than Younis who is completely dreadful.

Given a choice, I would select Malik and Kamran over team man Younis as well.
 
All of them are equally pathetic. No one should be near to ODI squad.

Yes Tanvir The Tool Kit should be part of T20 squad and that too as a player only.

YK is still Pakistan's best test batsman.

Malik sahab tu jhak hi mar rahy hain Pakistan k lye
 
Younis is in decline in Tests as well and the only reason why he still looks our best Test batsman is because others are very ordinary.

wise to the act now, next CPL season he will probably get smashed due to his novelty factor wearing off

Same thing happened in the SA league and in County, got dropped from South Australia for similar reasons as well

The limit of tool kit is at best half decent t20 bowler, that too for the first 8 overs



As Captain of the rams he has undermined any young player he sees as a threat to him,

Tanvir is awful in ODIS, YK is awful in ODIS , Malik is also awful but used to be decent. I dont want any, but if someone put a gun to my families head and made me choose id pick Malik.
