SA should make it 1-1 here unless something exceptional happens.
 
Babar needs to withdraw from T20s. Replace him with Fakhar. This innings has been atrocious from him and shown his deficiencies in this format. Stat-padding at its best.
 
1 Bad Game and guns are out. Few players in the lower needs replacing, rest is fine. I think we can rattle this SA team. Usman and Nawaz can do the job. I will not go with Shaheen or Hassan in the first 3 overs, bring usman and nawaz.
 
Where New Zealand are underrated is how well they assess conditions. They would've looked at this reused surface and adapt their strategy accordingly to score 160-165. Not try to force the issue and fall 20 runs short like we have.

Will have to bowl extremely well.
 
It was so obvious from Babar's innings that he only wanted to end up as not out so it can elevate his batting average.

For everyone who is saying take out Babar's runs & see where our scores would be, Pakistan would've been a lot better if Babar got out on 1st delivery instead of this pathetic innings, Pakistan would have scored 90 in about 11 overs without Babar's stupid 50.

Plus every batsman was under pressure because of this selfish inning from Babar, that's why they got out trying to hit shots.
 
Last two T20s sum up Pakistan. One minute up (luckily) next minute down. Babar really needs to improve his power hitting. 50 off 50 is not acceptable in t20s. Should have made atleast 70 off 50 and that would’ve been160 which could be the difference between winning and losing. With babar not able to hit the big shots Pakistan have to go bang bang from the start with Fakhar and Sharjeel and make use of the powerplay. Quick runs at the top will allow Babar Hafeez and Haider to play more freely even if they lose a quick wicket. Can’t afford Rizwan and Babar in the top 3 if they wanna win.

I agree and have said few times as well, that strategy, tactics, adaptation and game awareness is the weakest aspect of Pakistan. Rest of the things can vary but, these things can definitely be improved.
 
Pak never go 2 up in a series against better teams. Even though its SA C team, the trend will forever continue

Wow you have noticed wasted deliveries from a tailender but you failed to notice Babr's innings where he has wasted more than 30 deliveries
 
One side of me wants Pakistan to lose this game just because everyone can see what a stupid inning this was from Babar.

which batsmen would have scored these runs? babar is a limited player but i still do not understand the hate, paks best batsmen in a generation and we want to smack him down with a stick :))
 
This will be a massive mauling. Babar deserves the blame for a truly mediocre performance today.

He's without any doubt the best & most talented batsman to come out of Pakistan but he doesn't improve on his deficiencies he is okay with scoring all these soft runs just for sake of his stats.
 
Thanks to another significant inni g Babar Pakistan have something to bowl at,but they really need to understand their tailend strength in batting. Both Usman and Hasnain are much better than Shaheen who wasted lots of delivery when it was the hitting overs. SA have few good batsmen in this team who should together win this match.
 
Makram is the most frustrating batsman in the world. Looks like a world beater and suddenly has a brain **** and gets out for a sub par score

maybe he is just that a batsmen that can only score soft runs? why doesnt anyone else step up? where was sharjeel today what did he do with his stike rate? haider ali? and i don't buy this the other batsmen were under pressure rubbish, if theyre under pressure int hat situation they need to give up professional sport.
 
Sharjeel if he wants to stay in the side must need to learn how to play in powerplay. Or else i think Fakhar and Rizwan is better option.
 
Forgone conclusion this. We didn't bat anywhere near well enough. SA making it look relatively easy.
 
This is a timely humiliation for Pakistan. It's their D team yet they've run us close in every game and now Pakistan's defiencies are there for all to see:

- Inconsistent and overrated (on this forum for sure) batting line up
- Weakest 6, 7, 8 in the world
- Bang average bowling attack
- Misbah and Waqar have no idea how to win LOI's

Maybe this humiliation shakes things up a bit but one thing is for sure, this team will not win anything of note in LOI's with Misbah and Waqar at the helm

I don't like Sharjeel & I've been against his(Sharjeel) inclusion in the domestic circuit from day 1 but people like you were so eager for his inclusion.

And yes there was pressure on everyone because of how Babar played against a C side, at least the rest of the batters tried to play some shots & got out.

and what if babar tried to play some shots and got out too, what would the scorecard look like? Maybe you should be saying the rest of the batsmen should have played with a brain and babar would not have needed to play such a cautious anchoring innings, instead of this rubbish about playing for his average.
 
I don't know what Pakistan bowlers are trying to do.

They have the right length in mind but the wrong lines.

Look at how Markram stands in front of the wicket. Anything on the pads is dispatched, and anything outside off is dispatched. The length needs to be hitting the top of middle. It will get him out.

Good Post. Someone with common sense. Babar was not fluent today but he still took the responsibility to take Pakistan to something to bowl at. Posters blame one batsmen and ignore the contribution from the others. When Pant or Pandya come and turn around the course of the match they are not impaired by the slow contribution from Kohli, they go about their business regardless if Kohli was struggling early on or not. As Pak have no one in the lower order Babar cannot play risky shots.
 
Our bowling plans are quite pathetic to say the least.

It's quite clear we don't use data and analyze the stance of a batsman, even their scoring areas before the game begins.

Target Markram's middle stump.

For Lubbe, short-ball should be the plan at the body.

Don't give the ball to Hasnain. He's not ready for international cricket.
 
If Babar has any sense right now, he'd bring Shaheen on and make him bowl his full spell right now. Hasnain should be left aside.
 
I know he's getting tonked but Hasnain's pace is very consistent and impressive atleast for T20's.

spot on, this is the problem with our fans i am afraid, they dont think things through logically. if babar hit out and got out the same posters would be complaining "why didnt he play till the end", bla bla.
 
Hasan Ali a + Shaheen should bowl right now.

Klaasen is the worst person to introduce Qadir to.
 
If Klassan plays Babar type inning they will win easily, with contribution from others.

Thats true. We have pathetic lower order batting. Fahim and Nawaz are joke. Imad and shadab are still better than these 2. Usman, Rauf, Hasan Ali and Shaheen are solid selections.
