South Africa [325/6] beat Australia [315] by 10 runs in the final group stage match of WC2019

What is going on with the SA fielding and Aussie running.
 
Saf are the biggest bunch of chokes, that's 2 run outs missed you idiots.

Smith hasn't done much in this WC. He now has a chance to score a big century.

Handscomb can bat at 3,4, or 5 so it's probably better for Australia. Also plays spin well so it's not a had replacement.
 
SMH SA didnt play well in the whole tournament now making the semis easier for India because it would be NZ vs Ind instead of Eng now.

I don't know why they select Khawaja in ODI. He is basically like Azhar Ali. Ashton Turner or Peter Handscomb can contribute better.

No Khawaja is nothing like Azhar Ali. He has a better shot range. Just not suited to batting at 3. Has to open if he plays LO.
 
I just wish England finish off Aus in Semi. They are just too much of a beast to beat in finals.

Why not? Their way-better 2011 team bottled in 2011 quarterfinal against India. They are as beatable as any other team.

Losing a game they were expected to lose is not bottling. India were always the favourites.
 
Once again Chasing 300 will get to any team. So far Australia won mostly by batting first even against England.

I asked the same question in one of his earlier lbw. I always wondered how he is not missing the ball with such a risky shot. He was always spot on. nowadays he is missing that line a lot.

How? We had only one good bowler in Zaheer back then and they only scored 260 even after having 4 wickets in hand on an Indian flat pitch. That is high-class bottling.
 
I think England would have definitely beaten India. I think Australia vs England is not a guarantee either way.
 
SA needed a couple of centuries early on in the world cup. That is all they needed to hit the ground running. No 100 for a long time. Batsmen let them down. Now they are scoring.
 
As long as Warner is there, South Africa cannot feel safe. Warner can win the game by himself.

Why not? Aussies aren't that great. They have just slightly better middle order than India's, their top 3 and bowling aren't as good as India's. They are as beatable as anyone, their strength has been similar to India's, they know how to to hold their nerves better than most others.

Match is still not over. England still could face India. Honestly i want India to beat them in the semis. Hope we get the team combo right with Jaddu and Bhuvi in place Kuldeep and Chahal.against England. India will have 9 batsmen and good restrictive bowlers and wicket takers.

They were good back in the days just Windies was in 70’s and 80’s. But not anymore. They bottled in 2011, lost 16 ODI games recently, have brainless sloggers like Maxwell who bats like Afridi more than a typical Australian batsman and can bottle easily again in this world cup.

It was an exaggerated opinion that he never gets out LBW just to ascertain the fact that he has a damn good hand eye coordination. People create the false narrative and when that doesn't happen, they again wonder. Crazy. That dude is a champion.

This isn't the 90's, 41 is a pathetic avg for anyone wanting to be a good odi batsman. Also 1 world cup at home isn't actually proof, he has failed everywhere else except the wc at home. KL rahul averages 41 is he a world class player too?

ONe while batting first on a flat wicket. Second chasing a very very small total. If he was chasing he was never going to make a 100. These are little things we tend to miss.

He has mainly played a WC. In 2011, he was a fringe player. So only proof is of 2015.

He wouldn't have scored chasing. He scored a 50 in the final chasing after they lost wicket in the first over. He scored a 50 in the QF against Pak when Wahab was giving a working over to others. Isn't that enough?
 
Smith is not a great ODI player. He is average.

He is a potential ATG in Test though.

Another low total on his home grown flat wicket. Wahab made the life of Watson hell nobody else's in the entire world cup lol Watson has issues against short balls. Case of things falling in place. You have to do it consistently around the world. Grand total of 3 innings don't define your career. Lot of nobodies have clicked in the semis, quarter final, finals.

What trees has pulled up this world cup? He is a mediocre odi player who has never played as well as he did in wc 2015 before or after that. His overall record is the proof that shows he is a average player who had 1 good tournament, having never repeated that form.

He performed chasing in 2 of the 3 KOs of the only WC he has meaningfully participated. The other innings in SF, he scored a century. So that is 3 clutch 8nnings in 3 WC KOs. And No, chasing is never easy in WC KOs. Ask your Kohli. Those who performs in KO are not nobodies either.

You do understand that it takes more than 3 games to be considered a legend in anything.
 
It is remarkable how Smith managed to average 60 in Test with such unorthodox (some may say horrible) technique.
