What's new

South Africa beat India by 214 runs and win the series 3-2

What a joke Amla is under pressure. Such a gutless and cowardly batsman when the heat is on.

Fastest 50 wkt in onedayers at a time, if i'm not wrong.

Check his economy rate too. He used to bowl 2-3 bad balls in each over. He has bowled some good spells too. But he was nowhere near a very good odi bowler. Only indian fans who have watched him bowl can understand that.

And i am worried about this thing, not only for India but for all asian teams. From what i am seeing all Asian teams are declining, and other teams are on the rise. Because we are focusing on those players who can give us max of 1-2 years, but not on those who can give us 4-5 years. It's good that Bhajji is taking wickets, but also a symbol of worry.

Ashwin is just 29.

dont know what was wrong with SA when they faced us in the test and ODIs.

ABDV was not taking part but still the margin of losses were massive. I guess the difference is that our pace attack had venom - Mashrafe, Rubel and Mustafiz. Spin attack was not bad either - Arafat and Shakib. India really need Shami and Ashwin. I think India would have had the better of SA if those 2 were playing. With all due respect Mohit, Bhuv of recent times, Bhajji is just mediocre. Amit Mishra on the other hand is a class apart, really good inclusion in the Indian side and deserves his spot. Axar patel - more of a darter as far as I have seen.

Amla must be kicking himself for missing the party.

True.

Thankfully Bhajji not picked for SA test series. Sanity prevails.

I am talking about Bhajji, Mishra. Ashwin is the current best spinner across all format.

Giving chance in early 30s isn't a problem because that's the starting of peak for spinners unlike pacers whose peak starts at 25.

Its givig chance to over the hill players who can last max 1-2 years which is the problem.

Amla disappoints - Mohit.

"243: The average score by teams batting first in the last six day-night ODI at Wankhede. The highest is 286"

Ok, that seems strange looking at this pitch. Or it could be good batting and poor bowling so far.

The match will be in Virats hands. Hes the only player, i can see chasing a - potential - big total under pressure; Dhoni could also do this job, but with his recent form, i doubt him having any impact.

Indian batting like up is a joke. That's already established.

And what's more crazy is that the one finisher in form we have (atleast based on A games) Gurukeerat doesn't get picked at all.

Whether he succeeds or not in this ODI, we need him to atleast get picked (on ability) but even that doesn't happen.

Raina and Gurukeerat would add more balance to the lower order.

Knowing Dhoni's reluctance, he's more likely to persist with Axars, Rayudus than Agarwals, Gurkreets

De kock is getting tired ...expecting him to through this away

Is it just me or is my favourite Indian commentator Sunil Gavaskar is starting to become a bit annoying?

5th century of QDK vs India ...unbelievable

This pitch seems to be a pancake and ground is not big either...india shiuld back them selves to chase anything under 350

Mohit has reached 50 within 5 overs. A century on the card?

The pitch is flat, but it's not the problem here, it's often flat. The problem is the outfield. It's just too quick and ruins the contest.

India can chase on this kind of conditions.

QDK in full beast mode :misbah

400 on the cards here?

If SA do get 400 - on this pitch wth the rapid outfield - I can see India still giving this a fair shot here.

Anything under 330 is chaseable. Saw a few overs. Pitch is a road

Unless AB plays a blinder I think SA will not score much beyond 330. Rest of the lineup is fairly mediocre

SA set for 400, but you never know with Saffers on the crease, a potential target of 400 can easily turn into a total of 320 with a couple of breakthroughs. :ab

Faf in fine form of late:

50*
17
60
51
62

Just needs a century to make it count.

Just tuned into this match about 10mins ago and saw Mishra glaring at someone and being held back. What happened?

SA should get at least 370.

Anything under 350 will be unacceptable after this start.

Rohit isnt made for chasing. More of a player who is suited for the first innings. Kohli is the perfect player for these kind of situations.

Rohit needs to turn into a chaser if India want to win this. He's great no matter which innings at this stadium.
As much as I would love to see a Kohli special, I don't see it happening tonight. Just a gut feeling.

Bhajji might well chuck here as the situation demands it. Its gonna be his last match for a long time if ever anyway.
