Maybe he is only read post about Pujara .:smith
Rahane and pujara should have not selected for this series but team management have different plan . Results show both are useless player
 
Some people's really don't understand test cricket ,they just checked stats but not situation . here is 8 session left in game so players have enough time but you just can't Play this type of slow innings when only 1 day left

Slow innings sometimes work. Either its the need of the hour like Ashwin, Pujara and Vihari at Sydney in 2021, or to hold up one end allowing the others to attack - like Pujara at Gabba in 2021. A slow innings also works if one is able to build on that slowness to score runs later in the innings. This is exactly what Pujara used to be brilliant at earlier.

However, now Pujara has the slow start, but has completely lost the ability to build on the start and kick on to score the hundreds he used to.

Not really. He was a champion crickter until 2018/19 tour of Australia. Even in England when our numpty Kaptaan dropped him for the Lords test he came back and showed how important he was to the team.

But its essentially since the Aus tour in 2018/19 that his results have dried up. You could rely on him to score in India, but even that isnt happening anymore. And since the 20/21 aus tour, his results have nosedived. Its pretty much at the point of no return where he needs to be sacked.
 
Saf need to break this parternsip before the lead builds even more. Get these 2 out and lower order will play their shots aswell. So important to not let runs flow

Yes this is exactly my point .at the some point players need to understand that they are liabilities for own team and just hang their boots to betterment of team . ( Exm- Pujara and Rahane )

Kohli rarely play tuk tuk innings, considering the current situation its okay.
Pujara plays tuk tuk even on flat pitches.
 
Maharaj is on now.

One of these things will happen, Pant's brainfade or him making merry, no halfway measures.
 
Good sensible batting by these 2 against Maharaj.
 
Respect to Kohli for this knock so far.

Both wickets are important for both teams! Any one getting out now will open the doors for South Africa! As I have always kept saying Pant needs the company of a proper top order batsman (partnership with them) to mature more as a batsman himself!

Long way to go yet
lots of hard work, graft and struggle ahead to get there...but we defo have a good chance

That's what we were doing when we playing as kids! Nobody to help, the fielders have to go and find the ball, but if the ball is really lost then the batsman has to pay for it!
 
kohli cant resist a drive, his shocking innings come to an end, everyone saying kohli played well , its clear to see he is a man under pressure, Pant showing how to play with a positive mindset, kohli should have followed suit

Yeah, same here.
 
Now its free license to Pant & Beefy, but its Ashwin coming now... Maybe some more play of caution! But I think Pant will be pressing more now (which is good anyhow), he should continue to take calculative risks as he has spent time now...

Stupid throw from the hothead, even though Pant was firmly in his crease. These theatrics won't serve him well in the long run.
 
South Africa can still chase anything under 220. There is lot of time left in this test. This has been a brilliant performance from Pant so far in this inning. :inti

Yep, brilliant innings so far. If only he can score another 40-50 runs in this innings then it can prove to be match winning innings.
 
Looks like we missed Jadeja (might also have been useful bowler on these surfaces, using the rough and darting a bit)
 
Sundar would have been so useful here, however he is always injured.
 
Kohli's strike rate in this Test would even make Gavaskar and Misbah look like aggressive Test batsmen.
 
One thing this series has shown is - Ashwin is no more our overseas spinner. Either Jadeja or a batsman (who can bowl some spin) or even a fifth seamer should replace him!
