South Africa end Day 3 of the 3rd Test at Newlands at 101/2, needing 111 more runs to win the series

we were hearing the same comments for jadeja when he was selected over ashwin, now ashwin gets selected and hes being lynched :))
 
I wonder how our team will look after Pujara and Rahane's departure,

He doesn't fit into our overseas team which goes into the formula of 5 bowlers. He should bat at No.8 in which case the 3 seamers should be absolutely lethal. But our team is not competing with the past WI & Australia which had that kind of bowlers. Our bowling unit is better going with 5 bowlers where 2 of those bowlers should take up some responsibility of batting!
 
If this innings of pant leads India to series victory then he is very rarest breed in this Indian batting line up ..He is the difference so far winning or losing a series in sena ..
 
This defeat is going to hurt big time. Can we drip a few ageing, out if form guys atleast after this or will we stick to oldies who have no future

That was because Jadeja was not picking any wickets (while seamers were taking all of them). But now we know that Ashwin can't do anything with the ball. So going back to Jadeja's batting :))
 
We need 4 quicks + 6 batsmen + Pant in SENA with part time soun from the batsmen. We cannot afford to play the current lineup.

We need 5 batsman, wicketkeeper Pant, one batting allrounder in Sundar, one bowling in allrounder Thakur and our famous bowling trio.
 
Umesh is some kind of upgrade over Siraj (in batting). Let's home some more runs are added...
 
Pant could just play his shots now and get indias lead to over 200 easily. Saf need to continue to attack and finish the in innings of

Definetly, always rated Jadeja as the better batsmen, tbh i dont think either are good enough to hold down the main spinner role especially when it comes to overseas, so maybe time for india to try a new option
 
Match gone for SA already - batting line up is too brittle.

Our tailenders can't play on these pitches.
Ishant Sharma is only tailender who can block balls on such pitches against pacers.
 
This is how you bat on treacherous SA pitches. Go for runs while you are out there. Brilliant knock from Pant. His strength is his unorthodox style of batting which puts the bowlers off
 
Duanne Olivier since his comeback hasnt been the same. Before he left to play country as kolpak he was an emerging talent. Especially that series vs Pakistan. Suppose time out does affect players big time
 
If India lose this series, it will be entirely due to the two passengers Rahane and Pujara.
They played totally selfish innings in the second test and failed completely in the third.
No amount of fame or fortune is an excuse for such non-performance over a period of more than two years. Criminal negligence by the selectors.

They should be dropped from the team even if India wins this series. :inti
 
India will take this. SAF is turning into another WI and first signs for that is the weak battling lineup that has been exposed multiple times in recent series.

A century from Pant here will be a huge booster for India and Pant himself.
But i don't see him getting his hundred here.
 
Pant would have been batting on 120* by now if be could run.
 
He needs to learn the act of tapping and picking up those quick 2s.
 
Meanwhile good spirit shown by Shami , wish Ashwin and the two duds had contributed more.

This game can go either way. But, South Africa are probably slightly ahead.
