What's new

South Africa finish Day 1 of first Test at 127/5 in response to Pakistan's total of 181

To be honest, pitch is a difficult one but I am not sure of our bowlers will be able to replicate what SA bolwers are doing

The ultimate sledge to Olivier would be "See you in Abu Dhabi"

Savage:shh

Olivier has pace and is kind of hit-the-deck bowler. He has bowled well today although conditions and luck favoured him but he definitely is a prospect to look forward to.

Great start to the series for him.

Sarfraz needs to go , no responsibiliy with the bat whatsoever. Questionable batting order and on field decisions.

Babar needs to farm the strike here until he gets out. Try and get the score to around 150 so bowlers have something to bowl at

The bounce is vicious, Pakistan has a decent tail but they can't be expected to survive for long. Comms are having a laugh at them, not good to see

Tall bowler releasing it at 145 with good accuracy. What more do you want? Lol give credit where it's due.

Maybe its his short run up lol.Sure hes done well here but dunno if he's long term option, specially on less friendly conditions

My brother, you can't make the number 9 feel like he isnt fit for batting. number 10 and 11 yes

We have seen him batting with number 10 and 11 earlier. Problem is by the looks of it he doesn't even care if we get all out. No game awareness, plays like someone who thinks he is only responsible for himself.

He did in England, yet got bashed :mv

only on PP. After 11 tests, he has a bowling and batting average of 31. For a pace bowling AR, I will take that. If Faheem ends up with similar numbers, he will be called the second coming of IK.

In England, he had batting average of and bowling average of 24. Excellent bowling, but needs to improve batting.

But for someone who is only 1 year into this test career, thats very good returns.

When you come in at 6, more often than not you will be left with the tail . . since our number 7 (Mr. Captain) is part of the tail . . which means, you can't do much as a batsman . . I feel like, Babar has batted with the tail with his score under 15/20 almost every time . . very unfortunate! Would be interesting to see the stats.

This umpires loves raising the finger. Umpires call specialist

Atleast it's better than 49, that's only consolation, otherwise everything which could have went wrong did went wrong other than toss,,, but it's more of lack of competency and proper planning and selection than bad luck, we deserve every bit of it what we are getting,,, Most of us could see it thousand miles away but not the genius captain coach and legendary selector,,, MMHS

The thing Im most scared about isnt the amount of runs we score this innings, but our bowler getting hurt while batting.

All marginal calls going against Pakistan. Pathetic umpiring.

Even his batting average in England was better than many specialists :))

Have Pakistan upset Bruce recently? He better give Pakistan these marginal decisions.

That wasn't a great decision. Looked to be going down leg initially. Second harsh call against Pakistan.

Oh boy that is disgusting...

I know it won’t change anything but look at the swing on the ball and where it hit Yasir...
That is just atrocious

So South Africa are taking a first inning lead today itself. Can't recall when was the last time that happened.

I’m still lost for words.
Look at the trajectory of the delivery and where it Yasir.
The ball would have to defy the law of physics to be hitting any part of the stump.

Our bowlers won't be able to extract the same movement and swing. It would require an almost calamitous batting effort from SA to be able to save Pakistan here. Abbas is a huge miss here.

If we can somehow lift our spirits, this game can be converted into a competitive one considering the wicket and that SA will have to bat last.
