South Africa finish Day 1 of first Test at 127/5 in response to Pakistan's total of 181

[MENTION=79064]MMHS[/MENTION] watching our team here feel me depressed that we have been deprived of good cricket ,We should not be playing in UAE.We desrve better as fans of Pak cricket.
 
Bvuma's average is 34, d Bruyn's 22 ..... why so hush hush for Bvuma's skin color!!!!!!

I didn't watch much of the UAE tests, but here serving a hole night on Boxing Day - don't you think it's for a reason?
 
Bavuma same height as the stumps! who are these immature commentators?

Should thick tank have gone with Fahim if Abbas is injured on this surface instead of "We have best leg Spinner" and he has shown batting on pitches where ball come above knee height

Yes, especially Shami with his ability to straighten it from around the wicket was deadly against him. Another job Abbas would have done brilliantly. I am just a bit skeptical the left armers will feed him with his beloved width outside off stump.
 
I'll trade all meaningless test series in UAE to win series like these in South Africa and England.. bring it on!

Here in my doctor hostel everyone was glued to watch Babar bat and they say people do nto watch test cricket,but they does unless Azhar tuk tuk is not on and its UAE>
 
Need to bowl better length. Amir is bowling perfect length if shaheen and Hasan follow that consistently we may get a lead here...:irfan

They sledged him a lot and he was also down on confidence

de Bruyn isn't looking too perturbed. I think he was a goner for sure had he not scored that 4th innings century against Sri Lanka in last test SA played prior to this game. Seems to have gained the confidence and surety that he belongs at test level.
 
Wouldn't be a bad idea to employ Yasir against these two. Test their defence against quality spin.
 
Come home after a little breakfast to a pleasant score reading. Two more scalps both to Afridi since I last checked.

Lol no, I loved how they went back to a hole once we started bowling well. It was a smack dab from Amir and Shaheen. If anything, the superiority complex of the commentators has been dealt well by our pacers.
 
Bowlers need to keep bowling with pressure at both ends as wickets will come. The odd run here or there will hsppen, just can bowl bad balls like hasan did earlier.

Yasir'll come into play in 4th innings for sure, but at least he'll need a target of 170+ If Abbas was fit then 4 pacers makes sense, but I think Yasir is better pick than Fahim. Also, they didn't pick one extra pacers and carried 2-3 semi fit bowlers, which has left very little options.
 
One more wicket and Pakistan would finish the day on top!

Amir has been fantastic throughout. 2nd best bowler on show today.
 
Our bowlers could have bowled better... Yes we have 4 wickets in bag but looking at the consistency and lengths We need to improve bowling on same channel and same length.. We are still in T20/ODI mode. :inti
