Australia 351/7 @ Lunch!

MJ sticking around as usual!

North deserves a ton here on debut and have to see this one of the best debut inns ive seen in tough conditions!

This is the most pathetic south african bowling effort I've seen for a long , long time. They haven't got a clue today !

Dont worry saffer. SA will score 450 plus when batting.
This track is quite flat and SA batsmen are in form.

Mark my words....S.A will sruggle to make 250. We've bowled pathetic. On a pitch like this you must make the batsman play.

What on earth is going on ? S.A is still not able to knock off Johnson. BTW, well played M.J. North.

Well played MJ. Would be great if he got a test Ton. Aussies need to puch for big runs here!

122.6 Harris to Johnson, SIX, oh my word, he's just going better and better! Harris keeps it flat and wide but Johnson waltzes down and clubs it across the line, off the middle of the bat for a six over long-on and out of the stadium
122.5 Harris to Johnson, SIX, he's going the distance! This one's a dinger, rows back over mid-on
122.4 Harris to Johnson, no run, fuller of off stump and this time he leaves it alone
122.3 Harris to Johnson, SIX, even better! Its maximum! Johnson goes down and slogs this one over midwicket for six, man he's targeting Harris
And that is Mitchell J's personal Test best.
122.2 Harris to Johnson, FOUR, down he skips, whipping a flatter delivery off his pads over midwicket
122.1 Harris to Johnson, FOUR, kneels down and slog-sweeps this one behind square leg

I was more systematic than you, hence took a minute more than you :D

Current partnership 47 runs, 4.1 overs, RR: 11.28 (Johnson 40, Siddle 5)

siddle out on a no-ball

that would have almost robbed MJ of a certain century

Test Match what drama, out on no-ball, but then out again next ball.

Can Ben Hilfen stick around for 3 balls. M Johnson on 96*, will he be left stranded at the other end

siddle out next ball

Mj wont be happy

very very poor stuff from Siddle and Ben H. Yes they are number 10 and 11 but no need to chase balls outside offstump when you know the guy at the other end is on 96. I bet the instructions were dont touch the ball if you have to

If MJ keeps on batting like this, soon he will be a top 5 all rounder in the world. His batting average is 30+ now and bowling around 28.

Yeah.....MJ missed out there for sure.

I have the distinct feeling that he'll score more than one test century before he retires though!

Well done Mitch!

1.2 Hilfenhaus to Amla, OUT, smart catch! Classic fast bowler's dismissal, pitched up to commit Amla onto the front foot, pushing at the swinging ball, and thats a low catch by Ponting at second slip

18 for 2 .....this australian side is almost so bad it's almost boring. Not that they're a terrible side....but I don't feel for a moment like beating them is a great achievement now.....little the same as england or there abouts.

How bored are you right now saffer?

all utpo Kallis now.

all throughout the tour the Aussies thought the had SA down and out, but they came back. Lets see if Australia can go for the kill now.

We should have 3 slips , 2 gulls for the next 5-6 overs or maybe 4 slips who cares

McKenzie and Kallis together.

Such a shame MJ was robbed of a hundred!

S.A 5/2 and in big trouble!

Aussies bowlers as ive said before will enjoy S.A conditions more then ones at home.

With these 2 at the helm any recovery that might take place is likely to be painstaking. McKenzie 3 off 36 so far

Kaliis reaches 10000 test runs

10.2 Siddle to Kallis, 1 run, and Kallis joins the elite with 10,000 Test runs, pushing a fullish delivery into the covers, jogging a single, and gently raising his bat as the Wanderers rises to applaud and Ponting jogs over to congratulate him ... he's the eighth player to reach the landmark

Kallis 12(33) - McKenzie 3(35)
SA 17-2 after 12 overs
28 overs remaining today

First South African to do so?
yes. 10K club was only Australia, India and an outsider Lara

Kallis hits 3 fours off Siddle. Siddle's last two overs cost 22 runs
SA 45-2 after 16 overs

Kallis gone. Poor shot from a man with 10k runs.

He was playing so well and let this one go.

THe Aussies never drop an important catch. Maybe Smith can learn

One more wicket before stumps (pref. Kallis) and we'll be in a very strong position.

ITs such a shame, Ab De Villier is playing his 50th test and our very own Shoib Akhtar is still in the 40s

It is a good 2 days for the Ashes marketing team. Aussie and England both doing well.

YES!!! HUGE WICKET!!

Siddle gets the big wicket. South Africa slump further. Does Kallis really go missing against Australia?
17.1 Siddle to Kallis, OUT, and he's gone! Silence around the Wanderers as Kallis reaches out and square-drives a full delivery outside off stump and picks out Hussey at gully, holding a sharp one
JH Kallis c Hussey b Siddle 27 (44b 4x4 0x6) SR: 61.36

I reckon we're in the box seat for sure now.

25,000 tickets have been sold for tomorrow!!!

talk about half of them reconsidering that right now

20 overs to go, can we poach another wicket or two? If we can somehow get rid of De Villiers we will really be in a position to dictate terms.

Why is Ronald McDonald gliding in with a big smile on his face? It's hilarious and a little freaky at the same time.

Geez Ronnie needs to show why he was included in this side at the expense of Bollinger, who can also swing the ball. He's already failed with the bat. We need one more wicket, esp. since the Saffers have gone into their shells.

I have a feeling McKenzie will go under the radar and sneak in a century.

Shane Watson is so much better than McDonald. Too bad he cant stay fit

One more wicket and we're nearly into their tail. Don't want them to get any higher than 300, but if we can roll them for 200 or so it would be a huge advantage.

Alright so Ronald McDonald is basically a white, smiling version of Darren Sammy. That's who he reminds me of.

This is the first time SA is taking on a major cricketing nation without Pollock for a while
