YAY

in other news, the rumour circulating that we always lose when we score 300 is absolute codswallop. I can remember winning with 300 a few times.

HAHAHAHA AB will be having some nightmares tonight, relating to the statements he made prior to CT starting.

its amazing how much more pressure there is on batsmen when chasing a target ..those similar shots were going for sixes and 4s for england in the first innings

Then the officials have got it wrong.

only boucher to come after this, is it just me or is that a really long tail? (yay)

I'm afraid they are completely wrong. really annoying when people in paid and/or professional positions don't know what they're on about. the average fan usually knows more.

Are the Saffies thinking that Morkel will get them out of jail?

Highly unlikely tonight.

Run rate of 8. Key moment; this is always when somebody contrives to win or lose. When you need 2 boundaries an over, either you succeed or you lose wickets.

Getting Smith out would really turn the screw. Game's still on though.

Can someone explain to me why the commentator keeps saying that if SA lose this match they are out of the CT? Haven't they won against Sri Lanka? Can't they still win their third match?

this is their last match and they have lost against srilanka ...their net run rate will fall below srilankas nrr if they lose by more than 10 runs

ooooo, dumping out SA in their backyard would feel lovely.

onion sucks...they should have played sidebotom

I've always been a Sidey supporter, he's bowled some awesome spells in the past, but Onions showed promise over the summer and is probably a better long-term option.

Owais Shah must be one of the worst fielders in world cricket (after our own Danish K)

the difference between this run chase and the run chase we saw in the last 2 games ..south africa have more wickets in hand going into the last 18 ..lets see if that makes a difference

I think Eng SA scores are pretty much even at this stage. Eng got 2 innings of about 200 SR now to score 100.

Here was my question to Owais Shah for the PP Interview...

PakPassion.Net: You were selected in England’s provisional 30-man squad for the 2007 World Cup, but missed out on the final 15 that went to the West Indies. How difficult was that to take, and do you think your perceived 'lack of athleticism' might have conspired against you?

Owais Shah: I wasn't surprised that I missed out on the world cup, I was actually surprised that I made the initial 30 man squad for the world cup to be honest. It was frustrating as I was not very athletic in the field, could well have been the reason I missed out on the world cup. I have had an ongoing problem with my knee and I actually used the time during the world cup to get my knee right, which is a lot better now. I can hold my own in the field

I think not Brother Owais....

SA still have 7 wickets in hand and need 149 runs from 103 balls..its doable for sure. Just need to keep their head in the game. Its do or die.

They need to treat this is if they were playing a T20 match now. The only difference is they can pick and choose when to have the 5 overs of PP. If they dont panic it is certainly not beyond the realms of possibility.

In the previous game, Albie Morkel came in too early ... he is meant to only be there for the PowerPlay. He then lets rip.

I guess they are going to do their normal plan of action. They just need to keep the RR down to less than 10. Morkel can manage it at the end.

Duminy is an excellent rotator of the strike. Now the 8 and 9 run overs are starting to come from 2s and 1s and the odd boundary.

they are doing it right..you have to believe what batsmen can achieve batting first in the last few overs with wickets in hand can be done in the second innings too

8.6 an over.

Brilliant batting from Smith so far.

Boucher and Morkel can do anything

always thot England are a very underrated team , they have let me down so often ..finally good to see them play to their potential

watch out of these two , Denly and Morgan ...England are a very strong OD side in the making !!

Smith looking really good here.
If he is there till the last 5 overs SA have a huge chance of pulling this one off.

i have 3 questions ..
if england win this are they guranteed in semi finals..
if southafrica loose this are they out...
if southafrica win this is england still in the tournament..
pls reply
