put me up for a bet if we survive this we will win the series :) we do that pretty well

Yeah, been busy. So what's your take on India's sparkling performance today?
[Yea...long time no see. How goes it?]

Although we slated Pak batsmen last summer for not scoring in even more difficult conditions, and that too without our legends. Bechara Umer Akmal...

Yeah been out of action lately. Been busy in some paperwork.

I know. We seem to be too hard on our team sometimes. I think, when compared to this, we did much better.

Oh thats gotta hurt!

Still waiting for Dabur, Smith, Kallis and AB to pile on the pain.

chalo I'll stick my neck out and say Saffers wont get a lead of more than 50!! Lets hope I'm right....serves BCCI right for not having a practice match before the series...

Wooh!!

What a solid knock out punch by the saffers.

Will be hard to recover from the shock. Hopefully some overnight rain will spice up the pitch for tomorrow.

As we all expected isn't it. No technique from any batsmen other than Tendulkar. Absolutely poor batting, conditions were "perfect" for cricket. Exactly how a pitch should be, it wasn't like the batsmen couldn't play and score on it, if you got in you would score well, just enough movement and bounce. couldn't have been better.

They kept saying tough conditions on commentary, but that was way exaggerated, it was decent batting conditions, at test level your expected to have a proper technique and with good technique, all the wickets could have been stopped.

Thank you BCCI, thats what you get for no warm up games. Series after series same old issue. First test is wasted getting acclimatised and the rest of the series spent playing catch up

HELLO!!!! This is the first day of the game! Incredible how people dont realize that this is Test cricket!

hahahahahahhahahahhahahahahhahahahah.. wait ..hahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahahahha... wait wait wait. hahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahah

Its true India is just performing so well in the test format because all, I mean "ALL" of their test matches have been on flat tracks that have nothing in it for the bowlers and turn into spinning tracks at day 4 and 5. They have been exploiting their flat track day 4/5 turning card for way too long. Time to face a damp bowler friendly pitch after 2 years of test cricket.

And as for Morne Morkel never bowling again.. don't fool yourself with your arrogance.

I think India have a perfectly good chance of winning actually

and we have royally screwed up ... i expect us to get 150 at best and saffers to hammer us good so rain dance :)

no we dont we are done ... also i recall a certain wrist slitting whippy after siddle hattrick :))

am i not allowed to do that :)))

always different when it's your own team I suppose :)

Hurricane or not,

What India need to do is now is hope in-form Singh and captain Dhoni build a partnership here.
That is automatically going to happen. This is what we were expecting from the start of the day(all part of the plan again).Bhajji will be the hero.

... :91: and you were saying?

148.4 kmph from Steyn Wow !

I thought he was superb today - he's finally re-discovering the golden form he was in before he suffered the injury.

I think he was rusty and lacked confidence during the tour of UAE v Pakistan. Steyn's aim probaly was to get back into shape/fitness and just settle himself into the side after the injury.

However tour of India - he was warming up slowly, once he was warmed up, we saw the Steyn that we all know - he looked hungry for wickets, was giving his full effort and the pace was increasing delivery after delivery.

Watch out, he's back.

i thought the indian number 11 undkat played the short ball better the mr suresh riana

i can see this match being a draw tbh

Super performance by SA. Just shows how brittle India's batting can be on bowling friendly pitches away from home. Im hoping SA win by an innings and wrap it up within 3 days.
Go South Africa. Please do a complete sweep

...and imagine if we had a fully days play. South Africa would have ended the day with a 100 -run plus lead.

in other news, Sehwag just pulled a Hughes :nehra

Sun was out and the ball wasnt moving alot, but Morkel was getting alot of bounce. Its clear why India is not considered best side in the world. Even with huge lead in rankings.

Im loving this. enjoying every minute of it. Lets hope the torture continues.
Cant wait for day 2. Should be fun.
Lets hope Hashim Amla spanks them to all parts and gets a double hundred.

I've been saying it for years and not at all trying to be a troll. Indian Batsmen average about the same as the South African batsmen. And they play half their games or more on flat Indian tracks. The saffers play on tracks like this one half the time. Who do you really think is better ? And despite what people are saying there was nothing unplayable about this wicket. In fact is was a SLOW South African wicket. Watch as it quickens up..then India will really feel it. South Africa on the other hand love a quick track to bat on.

Just look at the first innings average totals on S.a tracks and it's 250-300 versus in India less than 450 is a bad score. To call this aged Indian line up so brilliant is just silly when easy conditions have played a huge part in their avrages.

The softeness of the pitch probably means when the sun bakes it it is going to play up and down. So 200 wouldn't be a terrible first innings score. But i hope India can put things in perspective and learn humility.

Any news about the weather today? India definitely at the back foot and credit to SA, but our bowlers can return the favor too if the conditions are similar

I don't think the Indian team could be at fault wrt to this comment of yours. The Indian fans? Yes I would agree. Plenty of them that would fit the bill..

How? Cant wait to have that result though :D (I am an optimist too but dont see that coming..)

LOL.... So called greats!!! Dravid, Sachin, Shewag, Laxman.....Dont have a clue in the "real" test match pitches...

Sachin and co are not truly "great"...Its just that the indian pitches are "great" for batting.

Loving this... Hopefully the SA clowns dont mess up this advantage.

Just saying.....

Tendulkar has been hailed as greater than "bradman" due to his performances over the last year on Indian Pitches....

This assumption is quite laughable now isn't it?

great, yet another guy who has seen one day in Centurion and doesn't really know what he's on about...

The test of how poorly a side batted can never be estimated with any great accuracy until both teams have had a dig. Let's see how the Jaapies bat on this wicket before we start LOLing at India's haplessness overseas.

It's India. They are wrist slitters extraordinaire. Worse than Pakistan actually, I reckon.

People bashing India based on 1 innings or 39 overs is ridiculous tbh. You don't get good after one innings and likewise, you can't get bad either just after one innings.

For the love of god, somebody give me a working stream pleaase!

I have seen many tests in centurion . Whats your point again?

if you would like to try and construct a decent argument as to why SRT and Dravid are not great players, and as to why Sehwag and Laxman are not very good ones, be my guest...

This guy, Unadkat, Is he a new ball bowler? I wanna see him bowl to evaluate the hype

Har har, Rockstars finally come out of India and look what happens to them!

man switching to this from the Ashes is like going from watching real cricket to school boy cricket. Different viewing experience.
